Axel's First Partner

*Axel's POV*

As I was walking down the trail I felt an itch on my face. Reaching up to scratch it I realized I had a beard on my face. Short yes but it was there. It was at this point I also realized the my muscles were starting to become huge. I looked like a beast. I was huge literally, even my chest and other muscles had gone through explosive growth. Thinking for just a second I decided to go to the river I could hear in the distance so I could see the difference in my body since being reconstructed.

Arriving at the river I went to the waters side and looked down into the water and was startled. My brown hair had turned silver. I now had silver eyes as well. The beard on my face was neat and tidy just long enough. To be honest I felt I was quite the handsome guy now. So with a cheeky grin I was about to stand up when I felt the wind around me pick up.

Feeling the wind pick up I didn't really think much of it until I was being blown away from my current spot.

*BOOM*

The spot where I was stand just a second ago was blown away. In the spot where I had just been was something that I didn't think I would ever see except for in fantasy movies. It was a giant ape that seemed to have vines and moss growing out of its body.

[Host please be careful that is a Nature Ape. They hold power over the nature that surrounds them. If in a forest their bodies will adjust to it same for snow and arid climates. It is very dangerous and completely untamable so do not try. Your best bet is to run. You will not be able to escape into the river, there are more beast in there. Please stay safe host.]

After Sylph said her peace she went silent again no matter how many times I called out to her. I guess she is still angry with my attitude from earlier, but I cant focus on that right now. With a thought I pulled the White Wolf Sword from my inventory and equipped it.

I know what Sylph said but something in my body is refusing me when I want to run. Its like I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Before I could think to much about it though I felt another presence. It was the Black Fenrir. It came to my side and lowered its posture clearly ready to fight by my side. Glancing at it I asked," Are you ready?" All I got in response was a small nod with a deep rumbling growl coming out of its throat.

The ape seeing us squaring off against it, took this as a clear provocation and started smashing its fist against the ground in a show of strength. At least that is what it wanted me to think but I saw through its ruse after hearing Sylph's earlier description.

Myself and the Black Fenrir jumped to the side and avoided the Earthen Spikes that it had sent our way. At the same time the ape sent tree branches and vines towards us to trap us. With a quick flick of my wrist I used a move that I had seen in one of my favorite anime on my other world. Not knowing or really caring if it would work, I sent mana into my sword as I swung 3 times.

Luckily my gamble wasn't wrong because I watched as 3 condensed sharp blades of mana flew through the air and quickly diced the incoming branches and vines. The Fenrir for its part started using some sort of wind power to speed up and start tearing pieces of the apes armor away.

Taking this as my moment I charged as fast as I could and sent my sword into the middle of its ribs trying to aim for the heart. What happened instead was something beyond my imagination. As my sword penetrated the beast I pumped my mana into it to make sure that I was using enough power to kill it. What happened though was a macabre seen of blood guts and bodily tissue exploding all over the place.

The Black Fenrir jumped back just in time to not get covered in the mess. Myself? I was not as lucky... I even got some of it in my mouth, yuck!

Falling onto my butt I let out a sigh as I tried to calm down. This was my first real fight in this world and to be honest I am exhausted now. Looking over I saw the Black Fenrir staring at me with a smile on its wolfish face.

"I don't know why you came out here but thank you for coming and helping me. I wouldn't be alive right now if it wasn't for you." I spoke from the heart saying my thanks. In my mind this Fenrir never had to help it could have just watched me die. It did not though and I am not a fool I know nothing comes for free.

The Fenrir hearing my words widened its smile slightly and nodded its large head at me. I once again marveled at how large these creatures are, not to mention they have a certain majesty about them that he couldn't ignore.

Pulling myself out of my musings I asked a question wanting to know.

"Um, is there a reason you came after me? Or are you just watching me to make sure I leave the forest?"

The Black Fenrir surprising the hell out of me just stood and started walking towards me. When it came in front of me I hurriedly stood on my feet. The next thing I knew I had the softest fur I had ever felt against my whole body.

The Fenrir had leaned in and pressed its massive head against me. I put my sword away and was about to wrap my arms around its head when I felt myself getting dowsed in wind and water power washing the remains of the battle off of my body and drying me. Then my arms were allowed to move.

It was at this point I heard her voice in my head.

"I want to come with you, please accept me."

I pulled back so I could look into her eyes. "Are you sure about this. I have no clue really what I am doing."

With a nod of her large head I knew that I had gotten my real answer. There was something about dealing with beast and the lack of deceit that I really enjoyed. So with out questioning her again I let my taming power flare and engulf the two of us.

[Ding]

[Host has successfully contracted a Omega Black Fenrir. She was the second strongest of her pack and also the alpha's direct daughter. Congratulations.]

[Would host like to see his status now. It has been updated.]

Hearing Sylph voice along with the familiar ding I knew I had to apologize. "Sylph, I am sorry for being a bit grumpy earlier. Thank you for helping me so much as I am still just starting out here and know nothing I should listen to you more. So again I am sorry."

[Host please I understand that you are probably going to have some emotional distress for the new environment and situation. I accept your apology this time but please keep in mind I am only here to help you. So Host, would you like to see your status?]

"Yes please Sylph."

The first thing that I noticed was the increase in my stats as well as my mana had increased slightly. Humming to myself I kept looking down till I saw the addition of Unarmed Master to my skills. I paused slightly thinking this is what I probably had been taught subtly by the Silver Fenrir. I thanked her in my heart.

When I saw that another line had been added to my status I was not that surprised. What did surprise me though was that the Black Fenrir did not have a name.

"You don't have a name?"

"No master. Will you give me one?" I heard her response in my head just like when I heard Sylph talk.

"Umm, sure... Hmm... How about Lozen. The name of a warrior woman from my old world. She was a warrior and a medicine woman. She had great knowledge, was fierce and kind. I think it could match you greatly."

I wasn't very good at naming, so I thought about the strong women in history that I knew about. I had remembered once that I had read about an Native American woman that was on that list. She reminded me of the Black Fenrir in front of me.

"Mmm, master I really like this name thank you." Without giving me time to reacted she pressed her head again. The best thing was I could feel through the bond I had with her that she was genuinely happy to be with me and I with her.

Pulling back she looked at me and said something I wished she hadn't. "Master, you know you are just walking in circles right. If you keep heading that way you will find the Fenrir Den again. But if we follow the river we can reach the closest city in about 1 month."

"1 MONTH! SYLPH HOW BIG IS THIS WORLD?"

[Host, there is no need to shout. Hmph.]

Apologizing quickly explaining that i was just shocked I asked her again.

[Host, if you think that your last world was big then you are mistaken. Your old world could fit over a million time on this world. So to sum it up, this world is bigger than you could have ever imagined.]

Once again, my desire to find a library and learn about this world was bubbling up. I shoved the feeling down knowing that I will get there eventually. So I just asked Sylph to give me a rundown on how this world works and how the local customs differ.
