The Scavenger's code

It was high noon and the sun was high in the sky, as the serpent swam across the ocean at tremendous speed, Zain sighed in relief as he saw distant hills.

" At last I am about to reach land ."

It had been a merciless and dreadful night because the ocean was not only home to the serpent but to other much terrifying creatures. Recalling how the night went Zain grimaced in pain.

Despite him supposedly having the blood flow and energy of an SS- rank his body was still at the bare minimum hence this resulted in him not benefitting from the power at all.

During the dread battles they had faced in the night Zain realized that his ability " king's command" had some limitations and didn't always work or atleast didn't work to a certain extent.

Zain was sleeping on the serpent head as it moved in the ocean sometimes the serpent would lower it's head to were the water would easily splash him if the current was in an opposite direction while at other times the serpent would rise it's head high and move that way for some time.

This usually indicated that they were threats or no threats because every time it's head was in the water then damage would be near and while each time it's head was above the water they would be no danger and this was one of those times when there was no danger.

The soft sound of rushing water could be heard as the serpent moved while the cool wind brushed his wet body Zain lay on the serpent with his eyes closed. He was feeling sleepy but was at the same time restless.

He opened his eyes and he could now see how mesmerizing the blue sky was, it had never been like this in the outer walls he thought, Zain stared at the sky that had no cloud covering it and sighed.

A deep slithery voice sounded in his head it was the serpents voice. Zain remained silent for a while and then spoke.

[ It's because I can't see any cloud, you see I have never seen a cloud]

[ Clooudd..master neverrr..seen...cloudd]

[ Well you see, we never had any clouds or a clear sky at the outer walls so yes I have never.]

After a moment of awkward silence Zain then spoke.

[ How did you know about clouds, surely you're not that intelligent..are you ?]

The serpent was quite for a while.

[ Don't tell me, is it the ice bringer who taught you ?]

At that moment they where now a hundred metres from the port where some army ships where docked. As they approached the docking station the stations defense system was suddenly aimed at them while a group of scavengers where gathered near the water.

Hearing this from the serpent Zain stood up from where he was laying, the serpents head which was 10 metres long in size. Zain stared at the rankers who stood near the water ready to strike him down or so he thought.

" Hey!!" Zain yelled while waving his had.

One of the scavengers who stood at the river widened his eyes as he so a human figure standing on top of the giant serpents head waving at them.
