After a long night, the next morning, when Nova woke up, he felt his leg ache as he stretched off and he glanced down, remembering his life before, when he could not walk properly and needed a cane, to balance himself.
Now, he could do it all without worrying about tripping over and making a fool of himself, which he had done countless times before, it felt as though everything was the way it was supposed to be.
However, his life in Etarion was uncertain and he intended to make the most of it, he was not going to let an opportunity like that slip.
He got out of his bed and stretched his limbs, feeling the ache from his body disappear and he exhaled deeply, as he remembered the events of the previous day, there was a lot that he needed to do and he intended to take them one at a time.
Nova went about his normal morning routine, which included a bit of exercise since he wanted to increase his body's potential, it was a mundane routine, to most but, while exercising. Nova used his abilities at the same time, trying his best to push himself forward, to get stronger, he was willing to do what it took.
The weight of the energy given off by his body was hard, though he pushed forth, not giving up, there were many things he lacked in, things that one would see as trivial, so he had to push forth.
When he finished exercising, he freshened up and grabbed his bag and cloak, before leaving the inn and going for breakfast at a nearby tavern, where he got meat for a few silver coins, enough to push him past the morning, along with a glass of juice, it was not much but he lacked money and was living off the bit he had, spending it wisely.
After he finished eating, he left the tavern and opened the map Erna had access to, looking for his way to the hunter's association, where he had to register and hopefully be accepted in order to get a job and start making money.
"Nova, you are being followed," Erna's voice echoed through his head and his eyes narrowed, as he kept on walking, not wanting to look suspicious.
'Who is it?' He wondered we he walked, following the direction the map had given him.
Nova kept on walking, acting as though everything was normal and he was not being followed, because he wanted to know who was following him and why, whether or not they were his friend or enemy, he could not act without thinking.
While walking, he felt the person getting closer to him and he turned into an alleyway and hid behind a wall. When the person came into his view, he swiftly came up behind them, pointing his staff at their neck.
"Who are you and why are you following me?" He asked, pressing the tip of the staff against the side of their neck, to show he was being serious and was not afraid to act if need be.
"Wait, relax, I mean no harm, do not hurt me," Their voice echoed through the silent hallway, pleading while wary.
"I asked a question," He repeated, as his eyes narrowed.
The person turned around and looked him in the eyes and his eyes widened when he saw it was just a young girl and he took a tentative step back while keeping an eye on him.
"What do you want?" He asked.
The young girl smiled at him, "There is no need to worry, I promise I mean no harm, I am just here to pass on a message from the mistress," She quipped and his brows furrowed, wondering what she was talking about.
"What are you on about? What mistress?" He asked, curiously.
"Ah, you may have jumped into her yesterday at the headquarters, remember," She said, looking at him expatantly.
Nova's eyes narrowed as he tried to understand what she was talking about when it hit him, the only female he bumped into was the girl in the mask, who had broken into the headquarters, to help the man she was with escape.
"Yup, I do not know what or who you are talking about," He lied, as he walked away and out of the alleyway.
She blinked as she stared after him, confused as to why he denied it, then it came to her and she scoffed then ran after him, into the streets.
"You liar! I know you remember! Hey!!" She yelled as she went after him and he increased his pace, while pretending not to hear her.
It was true, Nova wanted answers to many questions, but he also knew that getting involved so early with people he was not familiar with or things, was only asking for more trouble, which he could not afford and troubled, he could smell on them.
The young girl ran after him, surprised he was not listening to a word she was saying, but they had warned her this may happen and she chuckled, finding Nova's reaction almost hilarious, though annoying since she had to chase him.
"I wonder what bad deed I did in my previous life to have to deal with this," She muttered under her breath and she leaped into the air, landing in front of him and he yelped.
"What the hell!" He shouted as he looked at her.
She looked up at him with a grin, "Sorry, but you cannot escape me that easily, you need to listen to what I have to say, let me walk with you to the association, that is where you are headed right?" She asked.
He exhaled deeply and then nodded, knowing he would not be rid of her unless he listened to what she had to say.
"Fine, come on, but you better not cause any trouble for me or I will unleash a dead on you," He said, as he looked at her with an almost blank expression, before walking away and she chucked, then followed him eagerly.
