On Christmas Day, I clutched a pregnancy test result, brimming with joy as I rushed to deliver the exciting news to my partner, Steven Jones.
Little did I anticipate overhearing a conversation between him and two of his companions. "Steven, you're not actually considering tying the knot with Cherry, are you?"
"The Cooper family's firstborn has her sights set on you! Marrying Giselle would give you everything!"
"That's right, Steven, this opportunity won't come again!"
I anxiously watched Steven, awaiting his reply. Eventually, he stated, "I'm going to end things with Cherry."
In that instant, my world crumbled.

The Heiress's Christmas Heartbreak

Shortly after Steven left the hospital, Giselle took him back to the Cooper residence. Upon seeing him, Mr. Cooper flew into a rage once more and, using his walking stick, thrashed Steven so brutally that he ended up hospitalized again with even more serious wounds.


Giselle, filled with compassion, frantically tried to intervene. In the ensuing turmoil, Mr. Cooper pushed her down. Her abdomen struck the corner of a table, causing severe bleeding. Sadly, she miscarried as a result.


Steven's companion reached out to me again, imploring for my assistance.


"Cherry, if you don't intervene, the Cooper family might beat Steven to death!"


I couldn't help but chuckle at this. "That would be ideal. At least then, he'd stop bothering me."
