Charlie recalled the promise he had made to Rose long ago. "Don't fret. That day will never arrive," he had sworn with conviction.

At that moment, he genuinely believed his words. Their love was profound, and he was certain he would never cause her pain.

When did things start to unravel?

It all began when Rose became pregnant and he stepped in to cover her class.

He remembered how shy Miranda appeared initially. It was a stark contrast to her usual lively personality. In his presence and at the mention of Rose's name, she would quiver anxiously.

His inquisitiveness got the better of him, and he pressed her for answers. That's when she tearfully disclosed that Rose had been "singling her out," whether intentionally or not.

In his heart, Charlie doubted Rose could be such an educator. However, Miranda's pitiful state touched him deeply. Against his better judgment, he pledged to keep secret Rose's alleged targeting of her student.
