Charlie suddenly remembered the time he had brought Miranda to our house and I had grumbled about my inability to eat spicy dishes.
"That's why... she had just experienced a miscarriage. She couldn't consume spicy food while recuperating. What have I done?" he thought, filled with remorse.
He hadn't just failed to support me during that period, but he'd also teased me cruelly and openly displayed his fondness for Miranda in my presence.
The overwhelming guilt devastated him. Charlie wept uncontrollably. Abruptly, he pounded his fists on the steering wheel twice, his voice breaking as he cried out, "How? How could you not tell me? Why didn't you reach out to me?"
"Rose, why didn't you contact me when you lost the baby?" he yelled.
Miranda attempted to speak, but Charlie promptly commanded her to exit the vehicle. For once, he showed no kindness. He abandoned her there as he sped away.
