The reality

Farida spent her time listening to how Giselle adored the way her ex-husband touched her that night and how it turned out to be nothing but a betrayal.

She also learned from Giselle about how her ex-husband's family and her family embarrassed her and threw her out of the house because they believed she had something to do with their son's disappearance.

Giselle couldn't stop herself from crying as she narrated it all to her best friend. "I know he hasn't been with me not even once through our marital life but I wasn't willing to let everything go," grimacing and crying she said.

"But he had other plans while he was playing with me and deceiving me." She began to wail this time as if she was a baby. "It's unfair!"

Farida surrounded Giselle's body with her arm, comforting her, and patting her back, while Giselle kept crying.

She was extremely hurt because Nolan gave her high hopes about their marriage when he knew he was preparing to divorce her. Not only that he disappeared just as he used to and caused the accusations on her.

"I wish he had not touched me. I wish he had not said my name. I wish he had just ignored me that day. I hate him, I hate him so much!" The way she continued crying touched Farida so much that she began to shed tears for her friend.

It wasn't Giselle's first complaining about something and crying but this time Farida could tell that her friend wasn't only hurt but was crushed down to her soul.

Giselle was destroyed by everything. She refused to leave the room Farida spared for her, which was literally the attic. She spent four days in the attic without washing herself or eating.

"Leave me alone, Farida," Giselle would say when Farida would bring food for her and suggested she at least take care of herself by washing up but Giselle would insist that she wanted to be alone.

Farida soon found the spare key to the attic after searching for four days. She then entered the attic to meet her friend sleeping curled up in bed that afternoon.

Unable to see her friend this way, she brought food for her but asked her to drink first.

"Please don't lock this room anymore," Farida pleaded.

"I just feel better staying alone in this dark place," Giselle replied. After crying so much, she looked sick and lean.

"Let's see the doctor, you don't look okay," Farida suggested and stood up to take Giselle to the hospital immediately.

"I'm just waking up, that's why I look this way. Once I wash up and start eating, I'll be fine," said Giselle.

Farida was stupid to believe a depressed woman like Giselle. Giselle would lie to her about doing every necessary thing whenever she was going to work but would never do it.

Farida would always find Giselle isolated in the attic whenever she was back from work.

Giselle's depression lasted for a month, making things difficult for Farida who needed to work and take care of her family as well.

Giselle's desire to do nothing had cost Farida a lot but Farida was willing to do anything to help Giselle get back on her feet and live the life she believed was destroyed.

Unfortunately, the day finally came when Giselle's body couldn't tolerate her actions to not take good care of herself.

Farida returned early for work on Friday and was happy to see that her friend was in the kitchen.

"Hey, it seems you decide to leave that room today," rubbing her back, she said.

"I finished the water I had because I felt so thirsty. It feels as if I hadn't drank water in days," gulping water as if she was a giant, Giselle explained how she was feeling to her friend. "Now, I feel dizzy," she touched her head and bent.

"That's bad," Farida uttered and she continued to touch Giselle to comfort her.

"How bad is it?"

"It's coming from my belly. I feel like throwing up but…" she made that movement of wanting to throw up but nothing came out of her mouth.

"Girl, we are going to see the doctor. I'm not going to jail for taking you in and not making any effort to fix your life, most especially your health."

Giselle would have fought not to go but she was too weak to disagree so she allowed Farida to drag her to her car.

Giselle immediately rested her head on the car door after she settled down in the passenger's seat. Her body was making her so uncomfortable. That position wasn't helping her but it didn't make her feel worse.

"Farida," Giselle groaned as she rested against the door. "I don't like how I feel," she sounded sluggish.

"Don't worry, we'd get to the hospital soon. I'll drive as fast as I can," answered Farida and she truly was trying her best.

It got to a point, Giselle began to whine like a dog. It sounded as if she was crying but she wasn't crying.

"I want to sleep but I'm too tired to sleep. My stomach feels too full, I want to throw up," she complained.

"The doctor would know what's going on," Farida replied.

After a moment, they reached the hospital. Farida had to make Giselle rest her body on her completely because Giselle couldn't walk on her own. She walked as if she was too drunk. With Farida's help, Giselle was able to make it into the hospital.

Even when they entered the hospital, they had to wait in line for ten minutes before finally meeting the doctor.

Giselle ran a few test and was called back to the doctors office for the result.

"I hope what is bothering her isn't so serious, doctor," Farida hoped so much as she waited for the doctor to explain what the health issue was. Giselle had been treated and didn't feel exactly the way she was earlier. However, the nauseousness remained.

"Miss Giselle Bridges pregnancy test came out positive. You are a month pregnant ma'am," the doctor announced.

Giselle and Farida turned to look at each other the moment they heard that statement.

That night flashed in her head. His kisses, his touches and how he handled her replayed in her head. 'He didn't use protection,' she recalled. 'And I'm pregnant when he's no longer in my life,' with that, different thoughts began to wander in her head.

'I am pregnant and Nolan, that jerk is the father.' Reality now completely dawned on her.
