New talent

After obtaining the spear and turning it into a ring that he put on his hand, Li Wei went to look for the last chance left in this place

Following the golden line, he managed to find the black plant that would give him innate talent, but there was a problem.

'Strange, the opportunity didn't indicate that the plant was surrounded by a bunch of sleeping white creatures', Li Wei thought.

'I suppose it's because I came much earlier.'

'With my technique, I don't think it will be a problem to steal the plant', Li Wei thought as he executed his technique.

He slowly approached without alerting any creatures, and when he could get close to the plant, Li Wei immediately stored it in his storage ring.

At the moment when he stored the black plant, some creatures sensed it and got up confused to check what was happening, but Li Wei didn't waste the creatures' confusion and moved away at maximum speed.

'The Silent Shadow technique is perfect for this place', Li Wei thought happily.

After moving far away, Li Wei got into a meditation position and took out the black plant to eat it.

When he swallowed the plant, he felt a mysterious energy emerging and heading towards his head.

Li Wei felt as if the whole world was clearing up, a large number of ideas and solutions to problems he had encountered in his practice passed through his mind.

'My understanding improved tremendously', Li Wei thought excitedly as he took out the mid-grade sky rank spear technique to practice.

...

27 days later

In a cave located in the Valley of Death, Li Wei could be seen practicing tirelessly with his spear.

'This is incredible, I've never felt this way when practicing before', Li Wei thought after finishing practicing with a smile on his face.

In 27 days, Li Wei managed to master the mid-grade sky rank technique.

'My power has increased significantly compared to before, I feel like I could endure a fight against someone in the Nascent Soul realm.'

'It's time to leave this place', Li Wei thought as he packed everything into the storage ring and followed the golden line leading to the spirit fruit tree.

After 4 hours, he finally managed to leave the Valley of Death and headed to the city with the goal of resting for a few days before heading north.

He stopped tracking the tree opportunity simply because it wasn't useful to him as it contained no fruit and he had no place to plant it.

He also didn't want to sell it because he already had an excess of spirit stones, and if he ever ran out, Li Wei would have many ways to become rich again.

When he arrived in the city, he noticed strange looks from people, but it only took a little show of his strength to scare them off.

In this city, it's very common to rob people who manage to leave the Valley of Death.

Li Wei decided to rent a cabin to rest for a few days before leaving, and during the time he was resting, no one bothered him.

After resting a few days in the city, he flew north in search of dragons to improve his constitution and unlock the next stages.

It took him 3 months to reach the coastal city of the Golden Lion Kingdom, according to the map, this city is the closest to the dragon's nest.

Once he arrived in the city, he started asking the locals and adventurers for information.

Some locals claimed to have seen dragons, and according to circulating rumors, their nest was hidden on some mysterious island.

While Li Wei was talking about dragons, he felt a very peculiar presence watching him and was attentive to his movements.

He turned his head and found that a middle-aged man was staring at him, the man, once discovered, got nervous and left as quickly as he could.

'He is a dragon, my body is longing to devour him,' Li Wei thought as he activated his movement technique and followed him stealthily.

The man headed towards an alley and when he entered, he quickly tried to activate a formation that would teleport him to another place, but Li Wei struck him on the head and knocked him unconscious.

'Interesting, according to the information I have about formations in my head, this formation could be rank 4 or rank 5,' Li Wei thought as he examined the formation.

After that, Li Wei took the dragon in human form to a secluded place in the mountains.

"Wake up", Li Wei said to the dragon while throwing a bucket of water on him.

When the dragon in human form woke up, he was frightened to see that Li Wei had captured him.

"Please don't hurt me, I'll tell you everything you want", said the scared dragon.

"Why are you so weak? According to the stories I've heard, dragons are a very powerful race", Li Wei asked.

The dragon, with a sad expression, replied, "That's because I was born with defects that don't allow me to practice beyond the Foundation Establishment realm."

"What are these defects?", Li Wei asked with curiosity.

"I don't know, they never told me", replied the dragon.

'I feel a bit sorry for his story', Li Wei thought with empathy.

"Okay, next question."

"What were you doing in the city transformed as a human?", Li Wei asked.

"When my clan found out about my defects, they expelled me from the island and put a curse on me that turns me into a human", said the dragon.

'Expelling one of their own just because he's weak seems a bit cruel', Li Wei thought.

"Last question, where is the dragon island?", Li Wei asked.

Upon hearing that, the dragon started to hesitate whether to say it or not.

"If you tell me where it is, I promise to let you live", Li Wei said upon seeing the dragon's hesitation.

"I don't believe you, you're probably going to kill me", said the dragon.

"I'm serious, trust me, I never break my promises", Li Wei said in a gentle tone.

"Wouldn't you like to take revenge on those who humiliated and treated you badly?" Li Wei asked, trying to convince the dragon.

"I don't blame them for what they did to me, I'm a disappointment that should never have been born", said the dragon sadly before saying, "Go ahead, kill me, I have nothing to lose."

"Alright, you asked for it", Li Wei said in a cold tone as he plunged his hand into the dragon's chest and activated the technique to absorb all the dragon blood he had.

'If he told me the information, I wouldn't have killed him, it's a pity he didn't trust me', Li Wei thought as he absorbed every drop of blood he had, but as he did, black smoke came out of the dragon's dead body and struck Li Wei's body.

"What the hell!", Li Wei shouted as he watched the black smoke disappear into his chest.
