Chapter 28

I shot him a puzzled glance. "I mentioned that you two look good together," I reiterated, this time managing to keep my expression neutral.

He knitted his brows at me momentarily, which only added to my bewilderment.

"What's the matter?" I inquired as his quietness lingered.

He seemed to snap out of a reverie, blinking. "Nothing," he replied with a faint grin that didn't quite reach his eyes as he resumed walking, leaving me behind, gaping at him in disbelief.

He paused and looked back, offering a slight smile. "Shall we continue?"

"Sure," I muttered, dismissing the strange incident as we carried on.

After Jason escorted me home, I kept mulling over everything that had transpired. Jason was entirely different from Zane. I regretted ever comparing the two.
