Melinda Balo slammed her fist on the bar table, making the bottles rattle. "Caroline, grab me another drink and don't bother getting it from this dump. I need something with some real bite."
Caroline raised an eyebrow but knew better than to argue with Melinda when she was in one of her moods. "Sure thing, Mel. But maybe you should lay off the alcohol. You're already wired."
Melinda flashed a wicked grin, her fangs glinting in the dim light. "Oh! You have no idea what I plan on doing tonight."
Caroline gave her side eyes and walked over to the bartender. "Hey Dude, apparently the last drink was a huge failure in alleviating my best friend's tantrums, who happened to be a vampire by the way, so I would want something stronger. Oh! How about your blood mixed with Bourbon Whiskey? Mel, what do you think?"
Melinda who had no intentions of listening to the conversation but had to due to her vampire hearing, tched with a slight roll of eyes. "Do your thing, Caroline."
Caroline smirked and an invisible force cut open the bartender's palms and poured into a glass that was also moved by an invisible force. "I love how you compelled everyone in the bar to mind their business. Plus this little bartender, Raphael here really needs some compelling. He abuses his girlfriend. What an emotional assassin."
"If that's the case then I don't need the glass." Melinda stood up from her seat and walked over to the bartender.
Without warning, Melinda's fangs descended. She leaned in, her breath whispering against the bartender's neck. He didn't flinch, compelled by her to stay still of course. His eyes widened as she drank deeply, his life force ebbing.
The room was silent, everyone minding their business and doing their thing. Melinda withdrew her fangs, the bartender's lifeless body slumping to the ground. She turned to Caroline, her voice barely above a whisper:
"The world is better off without someone like him."

Melinda smiled slightly as she plopped the last bite of pizza into her mouth. "I suppose you call it teamwork. I'm a vampire, you're a witch. We are the best duo to take out a werewolf. I wonder who let these animals into Beckinsdale anyways."
"Werewolves Mel. An entire pack of werewolves. Tonight's moon is gonna make them more vicious than ever. It's called the phoenix night. We can't stop them from coming into town and killing poor humans."
"Says who?" Melinda asked with a wicked smirk.
"Well, I think It's time you met my friend Andrew." She added and on cue, a handsome blonde guy walked into the living room where they were. "He's a hybrid meaning vampire and werewolf genes. Anyways his blood can help. All we have to do is feed it to the werewolves kill them and they wake up as hybrid. They won't have to go through the transformation every full moon. They can turn whenever they wish."
"Mel, are you fucking serious? That is going to make them very powerful and you know how selfish werewolves can be."
"Yes, u know that. The last time we encountered a werewolf we almost died. But I'm not going to let them kill innocent humans."
"So? What is the catch? What is he getting from this?" Caroline asked in curiosity.
"A nice little fuck with a hot-ass vampire such as myself," Melinda replied but rolled her eyes when she saw Caroline's serious expression. "Well, he's a young little orphan who needs information about his real family so he is offering his blood."
"How are you even sure my blood is gonna turn them?"
"Well..." Melinda walked to stand in front of him. "I'm not." With that she snapped his neck, his body crumbling to the ground.
"Really? 'I'm not going to let them kill innocent humans?' We both know you don't care shit about humans. What's your plan?"
"I am going to find the werewolves, call a truce, talk them into taking this hybrid's blood, and then kill them. The blood is not going to work anyway."
"You got me there for a second. Not to brag or anything but I am one of the most powerful witches on earth right now but I haven't seen any werewolf successfully turn hybrid." Caroline said.
"Yeah it's not possible but the werewolves don't know that now all we have to do is convince them to take the blood."
"Oh, that's why I love you. What a brilliant way to take down the werewolves. Let's go now before the moon comes out." Caroline said and they both left there, heading for the woods where the werewolves were residing, waiting for the moon to appear so they could transform into their wolf form and kill innocent folks.
Reaching there, Melinda whistled, calling out to them but there was no response. She whistled again, yet none came out.
"Well, wouldn't you love to miss the only chance to become a hybrid? Opportunity comes once." She shouted, waiting for anyone to come out.
Finally, a young woman came out, giving her a nasty glare. "What do you mean by chance to become hybrid?"
"Oh! So in case you do not know me, my name is Melinda Balo. I am—"
"I know who you are. The ruthless vampire who kills for fun."
A sly smile spreads across her face, and she takes a step forward, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone:
"Ah, but that's where you're wrong. I don't kill for fun. I kill because it's necessary. Because it's convenient. Because it's... entertaining. And sometimes, just because I can. But fun? No, that's far too simplistic a motivation for someone like me. I'm a connoisseur of death, a collector of souls. I don't kill for fun. But you werewolves do."
"Just say what you came here to say." The woman glared in disdain.
"There is a way out. A way out of the pain you werewolves feel every full moon. Every break of bone just to turn. There is a way out. What way? You might be asking. By turning into a hybrid. How do I do that? By drinking the blood of the hybrid over there." She pointed to Andrew's unconscious body that lay a few inches away from where she was standing. "...and then death. When you wake up, you are waking up as a hybrid."
"How do you know it's gonna work? I've never seen it happen before."
"Oh, you want to know if it's gonna work? Ha! Do you think I'm some kind of newbie vampire who's never seen a thing or two? Listen, honey, I've been around for centuries, and I've seen it all. I've watched empires rise and fall, I've seen humans come and go. What do you think? Of course, I've seen it all. Even our blood supplier for today was a werewolf before he became a hybrid."
As the young werewolf listened to the speech, her demeanor transformed, marked by raised eyebrows, a softening expression, and a relaxation of her posture, as she shifted from crossing her arms to a more open and receptive stance, indicative of a growing conviction. "What are you gonna gain from this? I refuse to believe you genuinely want to help."
"What do I gain from helping you?" She chuckles a low, throaty sound. "Oh, let's just say I'm collecting favors. And when the time is right, I'll cash them in. You see, I'm not just a vampire, I'm an investor. And my currency is power."
