The Spirit Egg

Draven looked at the man, smiling. He's a vampire, and he called me his nephew, so he must be my father's brother. I'm just going to act like I don't know. Draven, still smiling, said, "Mr., nice to meet you too, but I don't know you."

The man, still smiling, thought, You mixed-blood freak. Even standing close to you makes me want to kill you. But outwardly, his face didn't change. Just as the man was about to introduce himself to Draven, we see Draven's dad walk up to them and say, "I see you've met my son, Draven. This is my brother and your uncle, Ivan."

Draven walked closer to Ivan with a smile on his face, saying, "Nice to meet you, Uncle Ivan. Where's my gift?" Draven looked up at Ivan and said, "It's my birthday, so you must have brought me a gift, right?"

Ivan looked at Draven, thinking, Stay away from me, mixed-blood. But outwardly, he smiled. He brought his right hand forward towards Draven, magical energy gathering in his hand. A light of magical energy shone. Draven and Alex covered their eyes with their hands. As the light slowly faded, we see a black rock that looks like an egg.

"This is a spirit egg," Ivan said.

Draven took the egg. "Am I supposed to eat it?" Draven asked.

Alex said shocked , "You don't know what a spirit egg is?"

Draven, showing no emotion, said, "I have never heard of it."

Alex said, "There are only a few in the world. This might even be the only one, but I guess it's natural that you haven't heard of it."

Draven just looked at her with a blank face. Alex said, "Let me explain. Spirit eggs can be hatched using one mana."

Draven said, "So what kind of beast is going to hatch?"

Alex said, "Nobody knows. It might just hatch an F-rank beast, or an A-rank, or even an SSS-rank."

Draven looked at her and asked, "What are these ranks you're talking about?"

Alex: "Beasts are ranked depending on how strong they are, from lowest to highest: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS. F is the lowest rank, and SSS is the highest."

Draven: "If SSS is the highest rank, what kind of beast is that strong?"

Alex: "Dragons are the strongest. They're like gods. They can live for millions of years."

Draven looked at her.

Alex: "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Draven: "Have you ever seen the dragon you keep talking about?"

Alex: "I have never seen one, but I have read about them."

Draven: "So you believe everything you read? If you haven't seen it yet, that means it doesn't exist. Even if there were dragons, they must all be dead by now."
