The commotion outside the shōgi room naturally drew attention. Even through the walls and wooden door, the noise from downstairs echoed clearly.
The Meijin's expression changed slightly — he hadn't anticipated this situation either.
"Daiki-kun... please allow me to call you that for now... Daiki-kun, perhaps we should lay low. It sounds like someone's coming up." Even the Meijin was helpless against these overzealous fans.
Their aggressive charge upstairs made it clear they wanted to settle things physically. Given that even the shōgi hall staff couldn't stop them, this troublemaker must possess considerable strength and physique.
Before he could finish speaking, footsteps thundered in the corridor outside, accompanied by cursing and forceful shoving.
"Daiki-kun!" Miku and Itsuki nervously watched the doorway.
Despite knowing Daiki's strength, they couldn't help but worry.
"Wait, sir, that shōgi room is off-limits."
"Daiki-kun, get out of here, that person is a Jujutsu... a special person." Rina and Machi called out anxiously.
The sneaky Ai pulled Mrs. Izumi along as they quietly followed, clutching a mop she'd found somewhere.
"Ai, don't be rash, you can't win against them with just a mop." Mrs. Izumi tearfully restrained the eager little girl.
She actually wanted to ask the anonymous shōgi player to be her teacher because of a life-saving debt.
"Aunt Izumi, I know my limits, I'll just hit him on the head once!"
Mrs. Izumi's mouth twitched as she watched the man approach the shōgi room door and raise his right leg to kick it.
Bang!
The shōgi room's door burst open.
'It's over!' Rina and Machi thought simultaneously.
They could already envision him barging in with punches and kicks.
Though Daiki was young and strong, he couldn't match the man's build. The Meijin was even more vulnerable — a breeze could blow him over. And the Nakano quintuplets stood no chance at all.
Ginko and Keika watched with strange expressions.
'With Daiki-kun's destructive power, would he turn that person into minced meat?' Ginko, lacking strength, could only stand and watch with Keika.
At this moment, the burly man kicked open the door and burst into the shōgi room, ready to rage.
"My... my respected Inspector General-sama!" The profanities he was about to utter died in his throat.
His raised fist dropped to his side as if electrocuted. Immense fear swept through the Sorcerer's mind like a hurricane. His knees buckled, and he immediately fell to the ground, speaking with a trembling voice.
The unexpected scene left the standing Meijin frozen in place.
Rina, who had rushed over from behind, was also dumbfounded.
...Inspector General-sama? The mysterious Jujutsu Sorcerer had addressed Daiki as Inspector General-sama?
Nino suddenly looked at Itsuki, silently questioning. Hadn't she said Daiki hadn't resolved the matter with the Jujutsu Headquarters?
Itsuki guiltily averted her gaze, causing Nino's eyes to widen. Even an idiot could tell that her sister had been lying earlier.
'Damn it!' Nino, who had gained another rival, clenched her fists.
Yotsuba stared at Daiki in confusion, not understanding the meaning of the title.
The burly Jujutsu Sorcerer kneeling at the door was terrified, sweating profusely. He was already haunted by the Kyoto Jujutsu World incident.
He had come to this newly opened shōgi hall to support the Meijin. Who would have thought the Meijin would lose three consecutive matches? The burly man's image of the Meijin had completely crumbled.
How could he tolerate such a thing?
But upon entering, he had encountered the Inspector General who had massacred the Kyoto Jujutsu World — the terrifying existence who had single-handedly slaughtered them.
It was said that afterward, he had even gouged out the Six Eyes of Satoru Gojō, the strongest in the current Jujutsu World, and with one move instantly killed Mahoraga, the strongest Shikigami of the Zen'in family.
The entire Jujutsu World and even the Prime Minister dared not pursue the matter. They had to use the position of Jujutsu Inspector General to appease him.
And he had actually kicked open the door in front of this butcher.
How would he die? Cut in half at the waist? Split vertically? Chopped into pieces? Or turned into minced meat?
The Jujutsu Sorcerer trembled violently, sweat drops as large as soybeans rolling down his ashen face.
Though Yotsuba and the others didn't grasp the intricacies of the Jujutsu World, the man's stark transformation made the weight of this position crystal clear.
None of them had ever seen someone turn quite so pale.
'So it wasn't just a descriptive term.' Academic knowledge flickered through Rizu's mind.
The commotion caught the attention of another Jujutsu Sorcerer dining at the adjacent sushi shop.
They had been shopping together for the past two days, but since the latter disliked shōgi, they'd chosen to eat next door. Now they rushed over to investigate.
"What's going on?" the thin Jujutsu Sorcerer demanded sternly.
Rina maintained a careful demeanor — the proper way to address a Jujutsu Sorcerer. After all, as they themselves claimed, they were an entirely different species from ordinary humans.
"A respected Jujutsu Sorcerer just caused a scene, called out 'Inspector General-sama,' and fell to his knees inside." She explained concisely.
"A scene? What insolent phrasing! Don't think your position as chairwoman of the Women's Professional Shōgi Players grants you any liberties. How dare you describe it as 'a scene'?"
Being a staunch traditionalist within the Jujutsu Sorcerer faction, the man held an ironclad belief in their hierarchy and couldn't abide such casual description of a Sorcerer's actions.
"Mere commoners, how dare you speak this way! We've clearly been too permissive. And what fool—what did you say about an Insp-?" His tirade cut off abruptly.
The man, who had been so caught up in defending the Jujutsu Sorcerer hierarchy, suddenly grasped the situation.
"Inspector General!"
As Rina's words echoed through the corridor, the man's arrogant knees buckled beneath him.
"What the hell! How could the Inspector General be in such a humble establishment?"
Rina and Machi stared in bewilderment at his reaction.
"Is the Inspector General position really that significant?" Rina asked cautiously.
The man replied with a trembling voice, "The Inspector General-sama is nominated by the Three Great Families of the Jujutsu World and appointed by the Prime Minister, wielding authority over the entire Jujutsu World!"
Despite his obvious fear, he managed to speak with surprising clarity and composure.
Rina clicked her tongue — it seemed Ginko's classmate was far more influential than she'd realized.
While ordinary Jujutsu Sorcerers already existed beyond common people's reach, Ginko had somehow befriended this Dai... this Inspector General, who commanded the entire Jujutsu World and answered directly to the Prime Minister.
From their hiding spot in the corridor corner, Ai and Mrs. Izumi exchanged worried glances, wondering if they'd learned something they shouldn't have.
