"Something's bothering you." Aunt Lisa says

I glance at her that's sitting opposite me in the cafe "How can you tell?"

"Besides the constant frown on your face? You're awfully quiet."

I sigh as I rake a hand through my hair "Do you perhaps know about a sisterhood that my mom was a part of?"

She tilts her head "Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was called The Shadow Sisters."

I nod and make a mental note of the name before asking "And you weren't a part of it? Why?"

"Well I prefer to embrace the human part of me, I love not being associated with my magic. But I respect those who do embrace their powers." She takes a bite of the chocolate croissant.

"I love that." I know more than anyone how my aunt would much rather prefer being a human instead of a witch "And what exactly happened to The Shadow Sisters?"

"I think they had a falling out or something because one day they were as thick as thieves and the next they never spoke again."

Weird.

I frown as I ask "Do you know who else were in the sisterhood?"

She raises an eyebrow "What's with all the questions, Bailey? I thought you wanted to spend time with me before I leave."

"I do. I mean I am spending time with you." I rush to say "But I just found out my mom was a part of something and I want to know more about it to feel closer to her."

She nods "Alright, that seems fair." She leans back in her chair "I don't know about everyone that was a part of it but I do know about Candice and Mindy."

"Candice from Edgar?"

She nods in agreement "She constantly visited your mom, I think the two of them were the closest."

"Right." I vaguely remember Candice and her daughter always being at our house "Could I still find her in Edgar?"

"Oh no, dear she died years back."

I frown "How exactly?"

"House fire."

Well shit.

I let out a heavy breath before asking "Her daughter?"

She shakes her head "Same."

"I see."

This is starting to get suspicious. First mom then Eli mom's and now Candice? All from the same sisterhood, died the exact same way. I try to drop the topic for now and instead just spend time with my aunt instead of questioning her.

And hours later after finally giving her a tour of Trinity, she says "I should start hitting the road."

I turn to her "Today?"

"Yeah, I know parents weekend is officially over tomorrow but I got work tomorrow so I need to hit the road early."

"Oh." I suddenly feel sad about the fact that she's heading home again when I barely saw her, which I blame on myself.

She sees my expression and rubs my arm "We'll talk on the phone and we'll see each other again when you're home for break."

I nod "Yeah of course."

I walk her back to the hotel and we hug for a while before I head back to campus and I curse inwardly when I see it's already 2 so I immediately make my way to the assembly hall. I walk in and see students already sitting down and I blink in surprise when I see them wearing their school uniform.

Shit. Were we supposed to wear our uniform? I didn't exactly finish reading the rule book.

I'm literally wearing a white summer dress with purple flowers on it. A hush goes over the room and everyone stands up when the dean walks onto the stage and I take a seat right at the back to avoid being in his eyesight.

"Good afternoon, students you may sit down."

Everyone takes their seat again and my eyes land on Eli standing by the side of the stage with the other professors. I see his eyes scanning the crowd and I have a stinking feeling he's trying to spot me so when the dean looks down at his notes, I raise my arm and Eli's eyes snap to me. And I know without a doubt he was looking for me, judging by the way he licked his lips to hide a smile and I bite my bottom lip to hide mine.

"I called upon everyone for numerous reasons, one of them being someone suppling vampires with human blood." The dean says and most of the students look outraged "I should have you know that we are doing an investigation to find the person and he or she will be given the punishment they deserve, because they broke rules that has been set for years."

The students start whispering to each other but one glare from the dean and everyone shuts up again "Second thing I need to address is the fact that a boy was found dead on campus." I tense and gasps fills out through the room "His name was Silas Adams and he was found with werewolf marks on him, vampire bite marks on his neck and poison in his body." His eyes scan the crowd and I hide behind the student sitting in front of me "We will find the culprits who have done such evil and they will handle the consequences of their actions."

I close my eyes for a moment as his words register in my mind. Consequences of their actions. That's fair but I can't help being scared shitless right now. Mr Robinson continues "Lastly, there will be a full moon tomorrow night so all the werewolves will be taken into the woods tonight. This is for the safety of both yourselves and other students, I know a full moon makes werewolves do a lot of dangerous things so the woods will be safe for everyone. With that being said, the other students are not allowed in the woods tonight and definitely not tomorrow night." He clears his throat "That will be all, thank you."

We all stand up as he walks off the stage and my eyes dart to Eli again to find his eyes already on me.

They always are.

A pang of jealousy goes my through my body when I see Maya whispering in his ear, which I know is stupid because they are colleagues. Of course they're going to talk. I watch as his eyes narrow at whatever she said before he sends a glare her way then he walks out of the assembly hall and I glance at the door to the side that also leads outside and immediately make my way out before anyone can see me.

I stand behind the wall when I hear footsteps and when Eli takes the corner, I grab his hand and pull him to me "Hey you."

"Bailey, what the fuck?"

I startle at his harsh tone and immediately drops his hand "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

He sighs as he shakes his head "It's fine. You know we can't be seen together and this is fucking risky."

"I know but I just wanted to see if you're okay." I say softly

His eyes soften and he cups my face "I'm fine, angel. And I'm sorry for the way I snapped at you, I just need nobody to find out about this okay?"

"Okay." I nod "Are you busy right now? We could head to that address now."

He closes his eyes for a moment before opening it again "I can't go with you today, but I don't want you going by yourself. So we'll go together tomorrow."

I frown "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just have some work to do that I can't exactly leave."

I nod in understanding "Do you need my help?"

"No that won't be necessary. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Yeah."

He looks around before kissing me and I kiss him right back as I wrap my arms around his neck to hold him close to me. He deepens the kiss as his hands move from my waist to my ass and I moan into his mouth as he squeezes my flesh. He uses the hold on my ass to grind me against him and my breathing gets heavier when I feel the bulge in his pants, he breaks the kiss to suck and bite my neck. I suddenly have this intense need to be as close to him as possible so I wrap my leg around his waist and I gasp as I feel him so much better in this position.

He lets out a low growl in my neck "I want you so bad"

Before I can reply, the students starts filling out of the hall and we immediately jump apart. He tries to hide his hard-on while fix my hair and dress, he sends me a wink and walk away before anyone can see us and I cover my face with my hands as I let out a laugh.

This is insane.
