I Am Iron Man

Pepper on phone: "You better get here now Tony. I don't like being bait." - "I Honestly thought I'd have more time. Blame Rhodey."

I flew around the building and seen Stane aiming a machine gun at Pepper.

I fired a repulser shot at his hand to catch his attention and force the gun away from Pepper.

"Stane!"

I tackled him down through the floor, a wall, then a semi trailer.

I rolled off him and my back thrusters stopped my momentum.

I stood up and seem Stane picking up a car.

Pepper through the phone. "Does this suit open up?" - "No. I haven't got that far yet. It'll just have to carry you." - "It better not drop me." - "It won't. J is Piloting."

{Suit.}

Obadiah: "I love this suit!"

"Put them down!"

Obadiah: "Collateral damage, Tony."

To Jarvis: "Get ready to deploy and take control." - "Ready." - "Then divert all powered to chest RT."

I shot Stane and caught the car.

I stood there without much struggle and smiled. 'I did make the suit stronger then the original. Good.' "J."

A pyramid shaped device popped out of my backpack and landed on the hood of the car. The wheels stopped spinning. "Thanks."

I lowered the car to the ground, and moved out of the way.

The device popped off the hood and flew back to me. As soon as the device left the car it took off at full speed.

I turned around as I heard Stane behind me to see him throwing a motorcycle at me.

My right hand fires up and helpes me dodge the attack.

I got back up and with a assisted jump I go up to his face.

He grabs me and throws me to the other lanes.

I go to get up once more to get kicked into a bus.

"Full thrust!"

I shot up above the bus as it exploded.

"I want to say your cheating. I'm not using civilians are explosives and you are." - "Your silver tongue won't get you out of this, and to safety, this time. Neither will flight. I've made a few upgrades to my suit as well."

Jarvis: "Sir. It appears his suit can fly." - "That's Quite obvious. Let's go up, but I want to keep just out of his reach." - "What do you have planned?" - "You'll see."

We both took to the sky's, and flew higher and higher. I looked back every so often and watched at the ice built up around his suit. When it almost got to the level he wouldn't be able to move. I slow down just enough to allow him to catch me.

He had me by the throat and spoke. "You had a great idea, Tony, but my suit is more advanced in every way!" - "Really? How about the ice?" - "The ice?" - "Yep."

I threw my arms up to throw off his arms, then thrusted a hand into his chest , then pulled out the reactor powering his suit.

I grabbed onto his suit and started to fall down with him.

"Before you die, I thought you should know, that I know you put out the hit on my parents. I know you are the reason they are dead.

Unfortunately for you. You cross the line one too many times."

I push off him to give him more speed the hovered in the air.

"Pepper is away right?"

Jarvis: "Yes, Ms. Potts is away from the building."

As I watched him fall into my reactor building, which forced it to explode.

"Come on! I pull the reactor up here so hopefully I could save the reactor."

Jarvis: "Ms. Potts is worried about you, as she seen the explosion. She is not taking my word that you are alright.

Please come down here and ensure her she is threatening to rip apart my main frame If she doesn't, see you here shortly."

'Geez woman. Calm down.'

"I'm on my way J. Don't worry. I won't let her do that."

.

I landed on the roof of part of my building to see Pepper standing infront of her Rescue armor.

I reached up and took off the helmet.

"See. I'm fine."

She ran and hugged me tightly. "I was worried. I seen you get thrown around, then that explosion, and I-I-I was just worried. I was afraid I lost you again." - "Pep. I'm not going anywhere."

.

The next morning, right before the Press Conference.

Pepper is standing behind me as we are reading the paper.

"Iron Man. There it is."

Pepper: "You can't go back now." - "Don't plan on it. I actually quite like it. I agree with the original, it's not actually Iron. But it still fits."

She rolls her eyes. "I can see it's not going to your head already." - "Totally isn't."

Coulson: "Here's your alibi." I look up to see cards in his hands.

I grabbed them and put the paper on the table next to me.

Coulson: "You were on your yacht."

"Yeah." - "We have port papers that put you in Avalon all night, and sworn statements from 50 of your guests." - "How about it's just Me and Pep. That sounds a lot better." - "That's what happened." - "Sure thing." - "Just read it, word for word."

Mockingly. "Yes, Sir..."

"Hey, there's nothing about Stane here." - "That's being handled. He's on vacation. Small aircraft have such a poor safety record." - "But what about the whole cover story that it's a bodyguard? He's my... I mean, I'm known for hating bodyguards... It's that's kind of flimsy, don't you think?" - "This isn't my first rodeo, Mr. Stark. Just stick to the official statement, and soon, this will all be behind you. You've got 90 seconds."

I shook my head. 'I'm announcing that I'm Iron Man, so it doesn't really matter I guess.'

After Coulson left the room, I stood up and walked to Pepper. "Alright. You ready." - "Like I've been reborn for it."

She smiled and shook her head. "You sure you really want to do this. Yes, Iron man has been shown to the world. But Tony Stark as Iron Man hasn't." - "Yes, I'm sure. No matter how much I try. Eventually I will be known. Might as well get it over with. And hey, after this is done, we can go back home, and continue what we did last night. I'm still not done exploring this new body of yours."

She smiled and gave me a chased kiss. "Your on."

.

Rhodes: "And now, Mr. Stark has prepared a statement. He will not be taking any questions."

I took his place behind the podium and stared out at the crowd.

"Thank you. Been a while since I was in front of you. Let's see how this one goes.

Okay, so, there's been speculation that I was involved in the events that occurred on the freeway and the rooftop..."

Christine Everhart: "I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but do you honestly expect us to believe that that was a bodyguard in a suit that conveniently appeared, despite the fact that you..." - "Christine. How am I not surprised you're the one who spoke out." - "Do you though?" - "Except you to believe the official statement? Of course I do. Because if you don't believe that, it's like your insinuating that I'm some type of superhero." - "I never implied you're a superhero?" - "You didn't? Oh, well, good. Because of course I'm not. I've made to many mistakes to be one. Some very public."

Rhodes leaned into my ear. "Just stick to the cards, man."

I smiled. 'There's my queue. I was just waiting on him. Now I can blame him. He's the reason.'

I raised the cards infront of me and scimmed over them before putting them down and staring at the camera. "The truth is... I am Iron Man."

.

.

.

Later that night. Outside my house.

I pulled up and helped Pepper out of the passenger seat.

I lead her to the door when Director Fury came out of the shadows. "I am Iron Man. Do you think you're the only superhero out here."

"I'm going to cut you off. No I don't. No I'm not joining any team. Goodnight."

I opened the door and pulled Pep inside.

I suit the door and pushed her up against it.

"Jarvis. Let me guess he tried to shut you down?" - "Yes, Sir. But your upgrade kept him out."

Pepper: "I guess you should get a prize." She wrapped one leg around my waist then the other.

"Uh. J. Turn off all cameras in my room. You won't want to see this."

I started to make out with her as I walked us upstairs.
