Are You Dying?

'Did I misunderstand, Grandpa?' Aleckin asked himself. He was lost in thought momentarily. Then, he recalled how his grandfather wanted to use Yelena to win Jacob Davies' favor. 'Hah! It must be a trick.'

Aleckin hardened his chest, and his countenance darkened.

"What else did you say to him? That is not enough for my grandfather to have a heart attack," he asked further.

"I told him you visited Bern not to meet your wife but to divorce her," Samson replied, terrified to meet his piercing gaze.

"What did you say?" Aleckin's voice rose again. This time, it reached the nurse's station, where a doctor checked on the nurse.

"This is a hospital. What are you two doing?" The doctor approached them and assessed their situation.

"I'm sorry, Doctor Payne." Aleckin apologized. He recognizes the surgeon immediately.

Hector Payne was a famous surgeon in his department. Every hospital wants to hire him, but he only chooses to work for Hailee Davies. Hence, wealthy individuals are fighting to acquire land in the Merveille Estate. The best doctors in the world work in Hailee Davies's hospital.

Aleckin dragged Samson toward the parking lot and made him confess further.

"Now continue! What else did you tell Grandpa, and he was triggered like that?"

"Erm, I told the Old Master you grant Miss Yelena alimony. I also mentioned you gave her the manor to Bern and the apartment in Mirth City. But the manor in Bern was burned down after Lina Herbert left for Mirth City to check the apartment and cash the money, where Miss Yelena was left alone at home without any maids to look for her. Miss Lina constantly reminds the Old Master that Miss Yelena has heart problems. Thus, Miss Yelena couldn't leave Bern. The Old Master is worried about his granddaughter-in-law. Therefore, he wants to treat Miss Yelena. But then, when I mentioned that Miss Yelena was missing, he…"

Samson choked when Aleckin grabbed him by the collar. He coughed, chasing air into his lungs.

"Missing? What do you mean, missing? Is Yelena was burned dead?" An inexplicable feeling rushed in Aleckin's chest upon hearing that.

Samson shook his head vigorously. "No, no, young master! It is what I wanted to explain to the Old Master. But before I could do so, he was already misunderstanding my report. I think he assumed that Yelena was burned dead. He took it to heart for the reason he had attacked."

Aleckin constricted his pupils. If looks could burn someone, Samson was already on fire.

"Glad you know it is your fault!" he roared.

Samson cried. "But he wants to hear everything that I dug up! That's why, young master… Ugh."

Aleckin sneered. "Then what's more have you dug?"

"Well… I'm going to investigate this further. My initial finding suggests that Lina hired people to search for her daughter."

Aleckin pondered for a moment. Then, he asked Samson, "What is this? Is someone kidnapping Yelena Herbert?"

"I'm not certain, young master. It could be possible that someone abducted her before they set fire to the manor."

Aleckin released Samson. He then instructed him.

"From here on, you will report to me only. If Grandpa summons you, you will mention nothing to him. But that is if his surgery succeeds. So pray and do your job better!" He warned the guy, "This is your last chance."

"I understood, young master!"

"Now scram before I change my mind!"

"Yes, sir!" Samson scurried out of the car.

Aleckin doesn't want to punish Samson for revealing his divorce to his grandfather. The man got ahead of him before he could explain why he was doing this, and now he didn't know what to do. The matter was between the patriarch's life and death.

Even though Aleckin resents his grandfather, he doesn't want to part with him this way.

Aleckin got out of the car and decided to walk to clear his head. He was at the entrance when he bumped into someone.

"Bro, are you alright?"

Aleckin raised his head. "Oh. It's you guys… Then you were granted permission to enter Dream City."

"Yeah, bro! But we were only given a few days." Harriet replied to him.

"It's better than nothing!" Zoren interjected. "Davies Group finally approved our request to accompany you to visit Grandpa Alek. At first, the office was reluctant to allow us. But then the news came to them that Grandpa had a heart attack and was in the operating room."

"I see," Aleckin replied nonchalantly.

"Dude, what happen to your face?" Harriet inquired.

Zoren chimed in, "Aleckin, why do you suddenly look like you have become older for ten years than you already were? We just didn't see each other for less than two hours!"

On the other side of the hospital…

"Becca, are you sure you're okay? You should rest more." Elric stops the woman when she attempts to sit up.

"I said I'm fine, guys. You don't need to be hysterical, you know?"

"Don't say that! What will happen to my company if you die suddenly?" Elric whined, and his concern was genuine. Hudson Corp is entirely relying on Rebecca. If he shut down the company, hundreds of his employees would lose jobs. "You can't scare us again like that!"

Rebecca stared at Elric. A smile playing on her lips briefly put Elric in a trance.

"No! Your charming smile cannot win me over and let you off!" he fought not to give in.

"I need to prepare. It's about time to meet Chairman Davies. Of course, I won't miss the opportunity to introduce myself and talk business with him."

"Forget this for now! Your health is important, Rebecca!" Elric was insistent. "So what if Mr. Jacob will rejected us if you aren't appeared on the appointed time? We have loyal customers, and that's enough!"

Rebecca sighed. "My reason for staying in Dream City is to hide from Lina, which is why this is important to me. You know that very well."

With her explanation, Elric could not counter. "Fine! I'll go take care of your discharge."

"What?" At the door, Anton emerges with a test result in his hand. He told Rebecca, "Rebecca, you have severe anemia, and your weight isn't normal at all. Doctor Payne advises you to admit for days to run a complete diagnostic."

Rebecca pursed her lips. It looked like she could no longer hide it; hence, she admitted. "I know I am sick."

Both Elric and Anton were taken aback, horrified at her news.

"What are you saying, Rebecca? Are you dying?"

At present time…

Outside the hospital entrance…

"Bro, is that Elric Hudson? That woman he's with is…"
