Chapter 12

Silas reached Thea's hometown as dawn broke. Upon learning Thea's itinerary from his aide, he rushed to find her without pause.

However, when he spotted her giggling and interacting with Kieran while wearing her bridal gown, his pace gradually slowed. He found himself standing still beneath a sycamore, observing from afar.

He couldn't pinpoint when it began, but he realized he seldom saw Thea laugh so carefree anymore. Their encounters had become filled with disputes about Jane. Eventually, he started spending less time at home, either working late at the office or drinking the night away with Jack and others.

In that moment, he clearly grasped the truth - Thea's words during their divorce were genuine. She no longer wanted him, yet he couldn't imagine life without her.
