Moon

The soft glow of sunrise swept through the curtains casting a warm glow over Hakuji's room, he blinked awake, his game console hummed softly, the screen still on, while a half eaten meal scattered across his messy bed, a sign of another night spent gaming.

Hakuji sat up groggily, rubbing his eyes, he let out a sigh, stretched his arm and back and swung his leg off the bed. With sluggish steps, he began walking towards the restroom, his mind still foggy with sleep, leaving the mess and glowing screen behind.

Hakuji, now dressed in his uniform, ran his fingers through his hair, grabbed his bag and swung it over one shoulder. His eyes then briefly scanned the mess in his bed. He let out a soft sigh before he turned and exited the room, leaving the bed as it was the door clicking shut behind him...

Hakuji was now walking through school's corridors, his expressions were plain and stoic, the noises of laughter and chatter buzzing all around him, as the students around him were chatting in group, their energy filling the air, yet Hakuji seemed untouched by it all, making his way towards his class in silence.

"Why the hell are they so loud and excited about it? It's just another normal boring day."

As his gaze instinctively fell ahead, he saw a girl and boy standing on the side. The girl was adjusting boy's with delicate fingers. The boy stood close to her with his hand resting on her waist, a content smile playing on his face. Hakuji's gaze briefly caught the scene before he turned his eyes back on his way.

"Aaah, how is this even allowed? Is this a dating point or what? how cringeful this love is."

But suddenly, Hakuji's eyes widened and he paused in his walk. He was frozen, his gaze was fixed ahead on a girl walking towards him along with her friends, all sharing laughter among each other.

The girl Haruma was eyeing seemed beautiful, her fair skin seemed to be glowing, her long light brown hair flowing gently as he waking. Her eyes were a shade of blue. For a moment, Hakuji was caught off guard, his eyes remained fixed on her.

She was with her friends, their laughter and chatter filling the air. Her laugh, soft and polite, was making Hakuji's heartbeat crazy.

His eyes were fixed on her, unable to look away, a deep quiet sigh escaped from his mouth and a subtle affectionate smile appeared on his face.

That girl and her friends neared Hakuji before walking past him. Hakuji's smile grew slightly, and he turned to watch her as she was moving into the distance, her figure slowly fading from his sight.

"Chisaki Hoshino…"

"I love her, She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, A dream girl, a moon I can only admire from distance"

"It's been three years since I've been madly in love with her, but I'm sure she doesn't even know about my existence."

"Come on Chisaki, please look at me just once. Notice me… At least know about my presence, I'm here waiting for you to just look at me."

With a warm smile Hakuji's gaze remained on Chisaki, who kept walking away. But just as she was about to walk past a classroom, a boy emerged holding Chisaki dragging her back and pinning her on a wall, burying his face inside the side of her neck.

Hakuji's fist tightened, his teeth clenching in fury, his gaze remained on the scene with his expressions shadowed.

As the boy pulled his face back, revealing himself as the same boy who won that football match by scoring a penalty against Hakuji.

Both the boy and Chisaki exchange warm smiles at each other before enveloping each other in a warm affectionate hug. A sharp ache of sorrow filled Hakuji's heart, his expression darkened with sorrow. Without a word he turned and began walking away, the moment pressing heavy on his heart as he was making his way to his classroom.

"Jin Kamanari…"

"The most handsome, most popular, and the president of the student council, most importantly boyfriend of Chisaki!"

"They've been together for two years now, Chisaki loves him the most, and is loyal to him."

"But… I can't say the same for Jin. Sure, he says he loves her, but I have my doubts that he is not loyal with her. If he ever betrayed her, broke her heart, or even made her shed a single tear, then I swear, I'll burn that madafckr alive!"

Hakuji expressions remained devoid of any emotion, his fist clenched with fury burning within him...

With a sharp motion Hakuji slammed his backpack onto the desk, sinking onto his desk, leaning back seeming exhausted. His classroom was buzzing with life with no teacher present. Students were chatting among each other, sharing laughter.

Hakuji then shifted his gaze to the empty desk beside him, noticing the desk empty. He took a sigh of disappointment and rested his head on the desk, diving into sleep.

Moments later, the sound of the student's grin and hushed gossips reached his ear, pulling him from his slumber.

Hakuji slowly opened his eyes, blinking away the remnants of sleep. He sat straight on his desk to see everyone's gaze was fixed on the entrance of the classroom. The teacher was clearly frustrated and was shouting, glancing at the classroom entrance.

"What the hell?" Hakuji muttered under his breath, rubbing his eyes, trying to shake off the grogginess. He then shifted his gaze on the entrance of the classroom where he saw a boy standing, seemingly terrified, his skinny frame trembled as the tears flowed uncontrollably down his cheeks, mingling with his running nose, his glasses were askew, and his hair was flowing messily on his forehead.

Hakuji with a stoic expression was gazing at that boy, who was being scolded by the teacher for being late.

Moments later the boy came into the room, with his tears still flowing. He quietly took the seat next to Hakuji.

Every student's gaze was fixed on the boy, mocking smiles playing on the faces of those around him. Hushed gossips and stifled chuckles were spread across the room, but the teacher with a stern voice snapped everyone's attention back to the front as she resumed the lessons.

The boy was still in tears struggling to not burst into loud sobs. He slowly turned his gaze on Hakuji, meeting his eyes, who was already staring back at him with quiet disappointment.

"Ha-aa-kuuji" the boy began with a trembling voice, "D-oo y-you h-have a n-n-napkin?" he asked, his words barely audible between his tears.

Hakuji, while maintaining his disappointed expressions extends the napkin to him, who slowly takes it with his shaking hands and begins wiping his tears and running nose, his breaths shaky with each ragged sob.

"Yuto Katsuro"

"My only friend in this whole world."

"Yes he is the biggest cry baby, no doubt. He's been my friend since first year. Everyone hates him, but still he is my best friend and all I've got left in this world"

"We are kind of the same, you know? His parents also died when he was a kid, and his uncle and aunt then shifted to live with him. But they treat him like dirt, bullying and beating him all the time. From his childhood to this day he is enduring unimaginable pain, and that's also the reason why he is like this. I've asked him a hundred times to leave his house and live with me, but he refuses everytime. He never wants to leave his parents house and their shop, since that's the only things he has left of them"

Hakuji's gaze remained fixed on Yuto, who was wiping his tears. After a moment he extended the crumble and napkin back to Hakuji.

Without a word Hakuji took it, holding it by the edge, his expressions contorting in disgust as he examined it, "Thank you!" he muttered before flinging it outside the window.

Yuto, with his eyes swallowed and red from crying, asked in a low, trembling tone, "Why did you throw it out?"

Hakuji let out a soft chuckle, "What am I supposed to do with it? frame it and hang it on my wall?" he asked playfully.

Yuto seemed at the brink of tears, nodded silently, and slowly shifted his gaze back on the teacher.

Hakuji, with a smile, did the same, turning his attention forward.
