"What the fuuuuu*k!"
Hakuji's scream echoed throughout the chaotic neighborhood, Instantly drawing every zombie's attention, their lifeless eyes locking onto the balcony where he stood.
With guttural growls all the zombies vigorously rush towards the house, where a group of zombies were already gathered scratching at the main door now grew larger as other joins, swarming around his house in a desperate attempt to get inside.
Hakuji stood frozen, staring at the terrifying scene outside his house, his breath quickened as he shook his head in disbelief before storming back inside his room, grabbing his phone from the side table, he dialed his brother's number and pressed the phone to his ear and began pacing around the room in frantic movement.
"Come on, pick up the phone damnit" Hakuji frustratedly muttered making the call again.
Suddenly he heard a voice outside his room, causing him to freeze in his place, his frantic pace stopped abruptly, his eyes wide with alarm.
The sound came again, this time heavier than before as if something was walking near his room. Hakuji's breath was caught in his throat, he slowly shifted his gaze on the entrance of the room.
Then, a decayed hand gripped the edge of the doorway, its nail jagged and filthy. Hakuji's eyes began widening further, as a zombie stepped into the view. Its rooting skin was sickly, its red bright eyes glowing with hunger, blood dripping down its agape mouth staining its sharp teeths, staring directly at Hakuji, a low guttural growl rumbling from its throat.
Hakujis stared at the zombie with wide astonished eyes. His phone slipped from his hand and fell to the ground with a dull thud. For a moment there was eerie stillness and silence in the room.
Then the zombie let out a bone chilling scream and charged at Hakuji with terrifying speed before lunging his body at him. In a split second, a smirk appeared on Hakuji's lips. In one swift movement a swings his body, delivering a powerful kick squarely onto the zombie's face. The impact sent the zombie flying crashing into Hakuji's LCD screen on the wall. The zombie, along with a shattered LCD, toppled onto the table below, landing directly on top of his PS5, crushing it with a sickening crunch.
Hakuji's eyes widened in fury, as he yelled, "That was my TV!" His voice echoed with rage.
The enraged zombie scrambled back to his feet and charged at Hakuji once more, who quickly took a few steps back with his hand reaching behind his bed.
As the zombie lunged at Hakuji, he swiftly pulled out a big dumbbell rod from behind the bed, swinging it with raw strength striking squarely on that zombie's skull with a thunderous impact. That sent the zombie flying into the air, crashing into Hakuji's gaming setup, completely destroying it in an instant.
Hakuji's jaw dropped, his face a mask of shock and disbelief. "The fu*k! That was over a million dollars set up!" He screams out in rage.
His gaze fixed on the fallen zombie, lying on the remnants of his gaming setup.
"What is happening? zombies are real?" he muttered with his expressions a mask of disbelief.
Then in an instant a smirk appeared on his face. "Well atleast as a gamer I know destroying their brain is the only way to kill them" His grin wide with pride.
Suddenly the zombie began to move, its mangled body rising unnaturally from the wreckage. With its skull completely crushed he stood on its feet, its still glowing red eyes fixed on Hakuji.
"What the…" Hakuji exclaimed, frozen in shock.
The zombie lets out a chilling guttural scream before lunging at Hakuji once again, who stood motionless, stunned by the possibility of what he was seeing.
As the zombie's claws dangerously closed on Hakuji, he moved with precision ducking the attack just in time.
The zombie's momentum carried it forward, but as it turned around to attack again, a metal rod came hurtling towards it's face, smashing into its head, the impact forcing it backwards, crashing him into the wall, pinning it in place with an unrelenting pressure, leaving it writhing but unable to break free.
Hakuji was holding the rod tightly, keeping the zombie pinned against the wall. In a faint, weak motion it kept swinging its jagged claws aimlessly at Hakuji in a desperate attempt to reach.
Hakuji was carefully observing the grotesque zombie whose face was almost crushed.
Narrowing his eyes in thought he muttered, "Hmm… So your weak point isn't your brain."
His eyes started scanning the zombie from top to bottom, when something caught his attention.
The zombie's chest was slightly vibrating, causing Hakuji's eyes to widen in sheer disbelief.
"What? your heart is still beating?" He said out loud, his voice tinged with shock. "You're still connected with your heart… could it be the key to ending you?"
His lip then curved into a determined smirk, "Well there's only one way to find out" He declared.
In one swift movement, Hakuji swung his free hand at the zombie's chest, striking it with such force that his hand tore through its decaying flesh. Without wasting a second he yanked his hand out, holding its heart.
The zombie froze mid-struggle, its body twitching slightly before coming to a complete halt, signalling its end.
Hakuji's smirk grew wider. In one swift motion he yanked the rod out of his face causing It's grotesque body to crumpled to the ground.
Hakuji then held it's heart close to its face observing it closely. Its heart was cold and hard, its color was dark black, it seemed as if it stopped beating a long time back.
Hakuji's eyes narrowed, as his thoughts raced, "I wonder… are they confined to this neighborhood? Or have they spread across the city? Or could this be happening across the entire globe."
Suddenly the sharp ring of Hakuji's phone cut through the tense silence, immediately drawing his attention.
In urgency Hakuji quickly grabbed his fallen, his eyes catching the flashing name on caller's id… Yuto.
A wave of realization hits him, as he swiftly answers the call, pressing the device on his ear.
The unsettling growls of zombies were echoing around mingling with Yuto's silent sobs, sending a chill down Hakuji's spine.
"Yuto, where are you?" Hakuji asked with his voice laced with urgency.
"H-a-akuji" Yuto gasped, his voice barely audible between his shaky breaths.
Hakuji's grip on the phone tightened, "Yuto tell me where are you?" His tone was insistent, though his voice quivered with a growing panic.
Between his sobs Yuto forced himself to speak, with his voice barely a whisper, "Hakuji I'm at school… hiding in a classroom… it's chaos here, they are eating everyone" His face was laced with fear.
Hakuji's face tightened with concern, his voice calm, betraying his worry. "Yuto, don't worry, just stay where you are, I'm coming, I'll get you, just hold on."
On the other hand Yuto's breath hitched, "Please… Hurry Hakuji" His voice barely audible but full of anguish.
"Don't worry, I'm on my way" Hakuji declared, his voice thick with determination.
"I'm waiting," Yuto's voice trembled, before ending the call.
With a furious swipe, Hakuji shoved his phone back into his pocket, his jaw clenched, eyes burning with determination.
"Hold on Yuto, Chisaki, I'm coming" The Thought burned in his mind, as he moved his body into action.
