Chapter 6

In the wake of Mr. Everett, the hotel manager, a contingent of about ten security personnel arrived. The joyous wedding atmosphere instantly chilled.

With a composed and friendly demeanor, Mr. Everett approached Cole and Winona.

He gently moved the emcee aside and presented an invoice to Cole. "Mr. Lewis, greetings. I oversee operations at Yucca Hotel. I must inform you that your reservation was made without the required deposit. Would you kindly settle the banquet charges now?"

The security team, dressed in black, maintained order among the guests.

Nevertheless, Cole could hear the murmurs of the crowd.

His complexion reddened as he angrily swatted the bill from the manager's grasp, exclaiming, "Is this how Yucca Hotel conducts business? Can't you see I'm in the middle of my wedding? You choose now to collect payment? Are you intentionally trying to humiliate me? Surely the Hale Family wouldn't be concerned about such a trivial sum for a banquet?"
