Chapter 14: Walk around the base

"Do you mind if I enter?"

The old man smiled as he ask for permission.

"Yeah... Go ahead"

What a senile old man! Asking for permission on entering after entering the room? Who would do that?

Vale curse the old man in his heart but keep a polite expression on the surface.

After the confirmation the old man took a chair followed by the officer that keep following the old man.

"Dr. Seraphina said your awake"

"Let me introduce myself..."

"I'm the regiment commander of the 10th regiment of the country"

"You can call me uncle Robert"

The old man keep smiling as he introduced himself to Vale as he took his hand towards Vale intending to shake his hand.

"Uhm... Nice to meet you uncle.... Robert?"

Vale don't know what to say respond and shake the old man's hand.

"HaHaHa"

"Good child, Good child"

"I thought you are hard to talk with like Dr. Seraphina said but unfortunately not HaHaHa"

The old man keeps laughing making vale think that everyone here has a problem in their heads.

First talking bad at a person only Infront of them, second a shitty woman who keeps asking questions then suddenly become angry, then this laughing old man.

"So uncle Robert what brings you here?"

Vale ask directly.

"You already know why I come here"

"It's about the offer about helping us"

The laughing old man's expression suddenly turn serious.

"Abou-"

Vale was cut short Hy the old man.

"Don't respond immediately to the offer, I just here to clarify things to you"

"Just remember that this is not a personal offer from any Tom, Dick and Harry"

"It was an offer from the government institution itself so think about it very very deeply just the support alone is very precious"

The old man said seriously.

"I understand!"

Vale nodded his head unsure what to say.

"Can you stand?"

Vale nodded his head.

"Then I will show you around the safe zone"

"Also your uhm... Things is safe in the warehouse you can take it anytime "

Vale: "Ok"

Vale stand up from the bed and look around for some clothes but found nothing the old commander has seen this and order the officer beside him to take some clothes.

Soon Vale wear a set of military clothes.

"The uniform look good on you"

The old man complimented.

"I prefer comfortable fabrics not this "

Vale give a forced smile.

"HaHaHa..."

"By the way your in one of the office building in the campus we use it as a temporary medical facility"

The old man show Vale around the temporary medical facility then to the other facilities they modified in the campus.

If a person don't know this place is a college they may think this place as military base of operations for the countless military weapons and personnel stationed here.

"You know why I choose this place a to station my troops?"

"It's because it best place to choose from in this city"

"It easy to attack and defend because of its high walls"

"It can also accommodate thousand of people with it many buildings, wide lands and dorms"

"There were also many shops outside"

"This place is a good position"

They walk towards their final destination at the temporary camp outside as they cannot

hold many people in their limited buildings.

A pitiful little girl in a ragged clothings in the temporary camp saw three individuals in military uniform walking by their camp direction.

She ran towards their direction and grab one of the people in their shirt with her tiny dirty hands.

Unfortunately it was Vale.

"B-brother c-can y-you give me some little food?"
