Chapter 15: Late Information

She beg in a pitiful voice almost crying.

Hearing the little girl beg him for food and how pitiful she was.

Something click inside him.

It was an unbridled furry not for the little girl but for the people with authority in this place.

"Well... Little girl you don't need to worry about food anymore as I brought a lot of it"

Vale pat her head and said with a smile.

The little was actually scared that she would get hurt after asking a complete stranger for food but seeing how friendly he is she relax and thank him.

"T-thank you b-brother..."

She almost cried here and there but she keep holding it in which why she look even more pitiful.

"If you follow me to the warehouse I'll give you a biscuit and noodles or anything you liked"

"Do you agree?"

Vale wanted to give her food but he currently don't have one so he asked her if she's willing to follow him to take it on the warehouse.

"B-but..."

The little girl don't know what to say.

As Vale action is the same as those kidnappers who kidnap kid using candy.

"You can trust him..."

The old man but in and confirmed that Vale can be trusted.

"Y-you are..."

The little girl eyes was wide open and guess.

"An old man!"

"..."

"Little girl the old man you say is the regiment commander"

The officer next to the commander explained but the little girl don't know what's the difference between an old man and a regiment commander as she was still a kid.

Vale look at officer like he was a dumb man explaining things like status and politics on a innocent little girl is like a teacher wanted to teach an elementary students an advance calculus and algebra.

"You can think of me as the father of all soldiers here"

"They'll listen to me or I will scold them"

"So want to come with us?"

The commander explained with a smile.

"Uhmm... Okay?"

The girl think for a moment before she answered.

If I follow them I'll lose nothing right?

She thought before tagging along with them.

All of this scene has been seen by the people at the temporary camp.

Some want to stop her but she already got near them.

They were scare of offending them, they know their identity other than the young man but standing next to the commander of the base they know he's someone they can't afford to offend.

They were not ignorant like the little kid they know the inner workings of the world and know how cruel can it be.

So they just watch at a distance as they don't know what to do they only prayed that the kid don't offend them and the army is kind to her.

After all, in the hard times like this a true human nature will show up.

"By the way child where's your parents?"

The old commander ask as the walk towards the warehouse.

"M-my parents?"

"I-i don't know..."

The little finally cried.

She was scared and wanted to know where her parent was.

She wanted to feel their hugs and affectionate kiss.

She wanted her parents to call for her name but she don't know where they was.

"..."

"Don't worry maybe they just got lost but will be back soon"

Vale comforted.

"B-but they were gone for three days and they didn't called me..."

"Do they don't want me anymore?"

The little girl weep.

"We'll surely find your parents so don't cry"

Vale kneel his right knee as he wipe the little girl's tears with his military shirt.

"T-thank you brother..."

The little girl smiled making her look even more pitiful in Vale's eye's.

Sigh! This girl is so pitiful.

Her parents is dead and no one gonna take care of her, she's already starving and dirty I don't know how long can she last even in the protection of the military.

As for how he know her parents is dead it was simple.

Only those become possessed by evil spirits and extraordinary like him with supernatural ability can survive out there as for her parents?

They either become possessed or become a pile of meat outside.

Soon they've arrived at the warehouse that is not so far from the camp.

The only problem is that it was only containing military equipment and weapons and only the food that Vale took with him was the only food supplies here.

The soldiers that is assigned here look at it with desire but hold themselves.

Vale finally know why little girl like her is starving and other people at the camp.

Even the military personnel was starving for the lack of food.

He felt guilty when he thought about being angry before and cursing them for their inhumane actions.

"Well as you already saw"

"When we got deployed here it was an emergency and we didn't stock much food rations because we thought we can just get it here and the time is tight"

"Well we got some rations take but it was not enough for thousands of people to eat so here's the current situation"

"This place seems good but one thing we currently don't have"

"It's the ability to get resources outside "

"Our man power and strength is not enough to be split and take resources outside as you saw and even fight with one of those monsters outside"

"It was one of those hunters who circle around our base as they cannot break our defense here"

"These hunters seeing that they cannot break our defense circled outside and hide in buildings and kill people that want to enter the base"

"We already send this information and warned the public but there was still people who didn't get the news"

The old commander look at Vale.

"Yeah as you know I can't just take out my phone and continue reading news when my surroundings is full of danger!"

Vale defend himself.

"It is not what I mean..."

"I just wanted to ask you to clear those monsters around the base"

The old commander said with a straight face.
