Chapter 17: A Meeting?

"Don't worry everyone!"

"Food rations will arrive anytime now as the military secure a food supplies outside so you don't need to worry about not having food to eat today"

Vale announced at the crowd that also suddenly become noisy and look at Vale and adjutant with gratitude.

The crowd look around each other with shock eyes, they cannot comprehend how the military got hands on supplies outside when they where trapped here.

But they still thanked as having hope is better than none.

"Thank you sirs"

"Thank you very much "

"May the god bless you!"

"I can't thank you enough"

"Thank God my baby can drink milk"

"My kids also can eat after not eating anything for 2 days"

The adjutant beside Vale has his cheeks turn kinda red this achievement was Vale credits all alone and not their military.

Vale seeing this smiled and added.

"Also is there anyone of you want to voli on taking care of those kids and old people?"

The crowd suddenly quiet down as people look at each other.

Seeing nobody rising their hands Vale frowned.

He already anticipated this as taking care of other people when they can't even take care of their own?

After all this time is hard times and no one wanted to take care of those burden is only weighing himself down.

"M-me I volunteer!"

A hand rise up from the crowd drawing other people's attention.

It was a familiar person.

It was Lyka!

Soon following Lyka's lead several people also rise their hands to volunteer.

In the hard times it only needs a spark to create a fire as people also want that they where not alone in the journey.

As even in the hard times their were still kind hearted people that want to help others.

"Good!"

"Then wait for my further instructions "

Vale bid his farewell and give one more look towards the running girl back before turning around and go towards the adjutant that was waiting for him.

"So I should send you to your room now?"

The adjutant ask.

Vale nodded and soon they arrive at a building that was surely a classroom the adjutant took him to a large space with already prepared bed inside and things that was necessary for a classroom moved out.

"This is your room"

The adjutant take out the room key and handled it in Vale's hands.

"If you want anything just alarm the guards assigned here"

The adjutant left after saying his last words.

Vale look at the key in his hands and insert it in the keyhole.

He was greated by a large bed and comfy environment he also has a conditioner put in here.

"Hah! So comfortable"

Vale lay on the fluffy bed that felt heaven for him.

All his life, he live frugally even if his family is not rich it not so poor either that he can't go in college.

In some aspect he's even blessed.

But it was his first time laying in this kind of place it felt like luxury for him.

Suddenly an alarm broke the happy mood.

Vale appeared next to the source of sound and it was a tablet!

Vale answered the call and an old man's voice that appeared.

"Mr. Vale are you there?"

"Yes"

Vale answered the voice.

"Your medical report is out"

"If you want to know about it come to the laboratory building"

"I'll also arrive there to discuss things with you"

"The guard will guide you!"

Vale listen to what he said.

"Okay! see you there!"

Vale answered after a while as he readied himself to go to the laboratory building.

His life suddenly become busy and worthwhile when he return from the dead or what he think.

He become busier and busier from here on and he's both excited and anxious.

Soon he arrive the the laboratory building with the help of the guard.

He entered the building and he was guided by the people around to the meeting area.

He look at the door infront of him .

Inside there were countless professionals from all walk of life talking and discussing important things as well as Dr. Seraphina who he had meet before.

That woman is also here! Vale thought as he reach for the door knob and open it.

Clank!

The door opened very loudly drawing all the attention of the people around the room.

Damn! Vale social anxiety spikes in when he appeared at many people.

"Oh it's Mr. Vale come in come in"

"Good noon Mr. Vale"

Vale was greated by countless people who eagerly appeared next to him and shake his hands.

"SILENCE!!!"

"Are you all kids?"

Dr. Seraphina angrily shout.

The people around quieted down and look at her for a moment before sitting back to their chairs.

Vale was not intimidated by her by any means but still sit opposite of the commander chair that was besides Dr. Seraphina.

"Hey what actually the background of Dr. Seraphina?"

"Why do you listen to her?"

Vale whispered to the young researcher beside him.

"Hmm?"

"She was the daughter of the commander..."

"She was the reason why the commanders troops was stationed here as she works at the General Santos City Hospital "

"So you know how important she was for the commander"

"That's why we don't disrespect her"

The young researcher sigh and whispered back.

Vale finally understand.

That senile old man really didn't fully said the truth only showed his good intentions not his hidden agenda.

He even bet that he took all his soldiers from their base without the permission from the higher ups.
