It was a typical morning as Kaliyug headed to school. As he entered his class, he spotted Rumi and motioned for him to stop.
"Are you Kaliyug?" Rumi asked with a smile.
"Yes," Kaliyug nodded, giving him a puzzled look.
"I'm Rumi, and I'm the queen of this school. I heard about what happened the other day, and I want to apologize on behalf of Vinoy," Rumi said with a warm smile.
"You don't need to apologize," Kaliyug replied, turning to leave.
"If you ever need anything, feel free to talk to me, just like you do with Jeeva," Rumi offered calmly.
"To whom are you showing sympathy? You know your boyfriend Kunal was working with Vinoy and spying on me for days!" Kaliyug snapped, leaving in anger.
Meanwhile, Jeeva arrived home. She came from a wealthy family. Her father was a famous businessman who was often away, and her mother was a government officer. They had high expectations for Jeeva, wanting her to be perfect in every way. A letter about her suspension from school had already arrived at home.
When Jeeva entered her house, everything was quiet as usual. She went to her room, got ready, and sat at the dining table.
"Since when did you start reading such useless books?" Jeeva's mother asked.
"It's just a book," Jeeva replied softly.
"You have no idea how much this could hurt our reputation. You'll be punished for this. You're grounded for seven days and will have to prepare a report about the school's activities. You can only leave your room when it's done," her mother said sternly before leaving.
Jeeva went to her room after dinner, opened her laptop, and tried to call Kaliyug. He was at home, eating noodles with his hand bandaged.
"Did someone bully you at school again?" Jeeva asked, concerned.
"No, I just fell down the stairs," Kaliyug lied, hiding his pain.
"That doesn't look like a fall. Did Vinoy do this?" Jeeva's concern was evident.
"It's not what you think! Forget it. How's everything at home?" Kaliyug said with a forced smile.
"Everyone's grumpy as usual," Jeeva replied irritably, but then there was a knock at her door.
"Alright, Kaliyug, I'll talk to you tomorrow. Take care," she said, ending the call.
Kaliyug stared at his laptop, looking upset, when he received a video call from his father.
"Hello, Dad," Kaliyug said harshly.
"Why do you have a bandage on your hand? Did you get into another fight?" his father asked.
"No, just fell down," Kaliyug lied again.
"How are you, son? I miss you," his father said warmly.
"I miss you too, Dad. By the way, could you send me that book about the cursed prince? I lost mine," Kaliyug asked.
"Sure, son. I'll send it right away," his father replied.
"Okay, I'll talk to you later." Kaliyug ended the call and lay down on his bed.
The next day, Jeeva's maid came to her room with books and blank pages.
"Ma'am, this is for the report," the maid said, leaving.
Jeeva sat down and began writing, though her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of Kaliyug. For the past three days, Kaliyug had been beaten at school while Jeeva continued to write reports and talk to him in the evenings. But now, her mother had cut the internet, confiscating her phone, so she could no longer call Kaliyug. She was frustrated, knowing Kaliyug was likely upset without being able to talk to her.
Two days passed with no communication between them. Jeeva had just two days left of her punishment, but Kaliyug hadn't answered his father's calls, and Jeeva was worried.
Determined to make a change, Jeeva stood up and handed her report to the maid. "I'm not writing this anymore," she declared and headed to her room.
"But Madam, if the senior madam finds out…" the maid protested nervously.
"I don't care," Jeeva replied, closing the door behind her.
Later that evening, Jeeva's mother entered her room to find Jeeva packing a bag.
"What is this nonsense? Finish your report!" her mother scolded, turning to leave.
"I'm not writing it anymore. I'm going back to school," Jeeva said, picking up her bag.
Her mother attempted to slap her, but Jeeva stopped her. "You're not doing this right, Jeeva," her mother scolded.
But Jeeva ignored her, grabbing her phone, credit cards, laptop, clothes, and books, ready to leave.
When Kaliyug returned home later that day, he was feeling down after being beaten by Vinoy's gang, though Rumi had helped him. He silently opened the door and found Jeeva sitting outside with her luggage.
"Jeeva, you're here?" Kaliyug asked in surprise.
Jeeva ran up and hugged him. Kaliyug was shocked but embraced her in return.
"Oh, Kaliyug, I missed you so much," Jeeva said, stroking his cheek.
"I missed you too, Jeeva! But why are you here? You were supposed to come in two days," Kaliyug asked.
"Let's go inside first. I'm hungry, and I'll tell you everything while we eat," Jeeva said, walking inside.
After dinner, Jeeva explained everything.
"You can stay here until your suspension is over, but after that, you'll have to go back to your hostel," Kaliyug said, heading to wash the dishes.
"Did anyone bother you?" Jeeva asked.
"No, Rumi and Kunal have been helping me," Kaliyug replied.
"Don't worry. Now that I'm here, no one will even touch you," Jeeva said, kissing his cheek.
Kaliyug blushed and made a bed for Jeeva in his bedroom, while he made one for himself on the floor. However, Jeeva couldn't sleep and ended up lying next to him. Kaliyug held her as they both fell asleep.
The next morning, Kaliyug made coffee for Jeeva, and after saying goodbye, he went to school. Jeeva spent the day in the city and saw a breaking news segment.
"Be careful, an unknown killer is eliminating powerful superheroes. Could this be the cursed prince?"
Jeeva froze, shocked to learn that four people with powers of 8 out of 10 had already died.
Later, she came home, deep in thought, and sat down to play video games. She was waiting for Kaliyug's return when the door opened.
"Surprise, my son!"
Kaliyug's father stood there, surprised to see Jeeva.
"Is my son living with a girl, and he didn't tell me?" Kaliyug's father thought to himself.
"No, Uncle. It's not what you think!" Jeeva said, explaining the situation.
"Oh, you're Kaliyug's friend! I was just joking. You're a very cute girl, but I'm curious… are you more powerful than my son?" Kaliyug's father asked.
Just then, Kaliyug entered.
"Dead, you're here?"
"My child, I was just talking about you!" his father said, hugging him.
"You came here without telling me?" Kaliyug asked, nervous.
"Yes, I saw you were worried, so I came to check on you and give you the book," his father said, handing it to him.
Kaliyug pulled his father aside.
"Dad, Jeeva doesn't know about my past, and I don't want her to. Please, don't tell her anything," Kaliyug asked.
"So, you love her?" his father asked, smiling.
"Yes, Dad," Kaliyug replied.
"Okay, I won't say anything. But, remember, son, she's special," his father said, looking toward the sky.
