Inside the Hokage Building's lounge.
"Where is Lord Hokage?" Pakura asked when she saw that it was Makoto who had entered the room instead of Orochimaru.
"Lord Hokage is busy with other matters. I was the one corresponding with you, Miss Pakura," Makoto replied.
Pakura looked at the young man before her and couldn't help but frown slightly.
She felt as though she was being slighted and treated with indifference.
She had heard of Hyuga Makoto's feats in battle against the Kumo Ninja, but in the end, he was still just a child.
Without having witnessed it firsthand, she thought the stories were likely exaggerated.
After all, she knew well enough how her own reputation had been inflated in Sunagakure.
"Oh? Is Miss Pakura dissatisfied with something?"
Pakura did indeed feel dissatisfied, but she couldn't openly express it.
She replied calmly, "What does Lord Makoto wish to discuss?"
Seeing her composed demeanor, Makoto sneered inwardly but maintained an expression of feigned surprise.
"Wasn't Miss Pakura here regarding the matter of supplies? Everything was clearly discussed earlier, wasn't it? If there's nothing else, you may return. Of course, if you wish to stay in Konoha for a few days, you are more than welcome."
Pakura's visit was indeed prompted by Konoha's aid in providing supplies to Sunagakure.
Pakura's expression immediately darkened.
She had traveled all the way to Konoha because of a letter that promised to help her defeat Kirigakure.
Her current situation in Sunagakure wasn't good.
Although she was a hero of the village, the newly appointed Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, had been gradually pushing her out of the power center, intending to remove her from the village's inner circle.
This was because, during the election for the Fourth Kazekage, she and Rasa had been competitors.
Pakura now desperately needed a significant achievement to solidify her position.
Taking a deep breath, Pakura bowed slightly to Makoto, adjusting her posture before speaking again.
"Lord Makoto, Sunagakure is in urgent need of Konoha's assistance. I hope your village can offer help, remembering the bonds of the past."
Makoto calmly walked over to the sofa and sat down, looking at Pakura.
"Sunagakure needs Konoha's help, and we are willing to assist your village."
"But what about Miss Pakura?"
The implication in his words was thought-provoking. Pakura's gaze flickered, and she asked, "What do you mean, Lord Makoto?"
Makoto replied, "Miss Pakura, despite being a hero of Sunagakure, the treatment you've received doesn't seem to reflect the status of a hero."
Pakura's heart tightened.
This guy…
He seems to know quite a lot about my situation!
These are the results of an investigation.
From the original story, the fact that Pakura, once hailed as a hero of Sunagakure, could be so easily discarded by the village suggests how low her status was there.
However, this investigation was not conducted in Sunagakure—that would have been too foolish.
Instead, the information came from some royal officials in the Land of Wind.
Unlike the people of this world, Makoto had no qualms or respect for the feudal lords.
He had no psychological burden in using the Anbu to gather intelligence.
Makoto continued, "Even if Konoha helps Sunagakure win this war, even if Miss Pakura becomes the hero of this battle, will it change your current situation?"
Pakura's heroic face furrowed in silence.
Makoto didn't press further, simply waiting for her response.
She sat down on the sofa opposite him.
After a long pause, Pakura finally spoke. "Lord Makoto, how do you plan to help me?"
She thought it was highly unreliable to have an outsider help her with her internal village issues, but the truth was that her situation was already as bad as it could get.
And to defeat Kirigakure, she still needed Konoha's assistance.
Makoto replied, "That depends on what step Miss Pakura wants to achieve."
"What step?"
Her gaze flickered for a moment, and she didn't immediately respond to Makoto.
Instead, she said, "Lord Makoto, I need to think this through carefully."
"Of course, Miss Pakura. If you'd like to stay in Konoha for a few days, the village would be more than happy to accommodate you. Just please don't stay too long; your village is waiting for good news from you," Makoto replied.
After Pakura left.
In the afternoon, Rin and Kushina came to the Hokage Building to find Makoto.
Makoto had previously given Rin the method for perfecting the Jinchuriki technique, written by the Yugito.
Rin came this time to inform Makoto that she had decided to begin her training.
Kushina shared the same intention, but she knew that reconciliation with Kyuubi was impossible, so she could only place her hopes on Rin.
The training steps provided by Yugito were generally divided into two main stages:
The first was to establish communication with the Tailed Beast, and the second was to tame the Tailed Beast.
However, when broken down into specifics, the process was extremely complex and required a great deal of preparation.
For example, overcoming oneself and resisting the negative emotions of the "True Waterfall" was crucial.
Otherwise, there was a risk of being consumed by the malevolent chakra of the Tailed Beast, which could destroy one's sanity.
Konoha didn't have the conditions that Kumogakure had, and Makoto pondered whether he could create the necessary conditions himself.
Makoto said to Rin, "To become a perfect Jinchuriki, you must battle with the Tailed Beast inside you, and you also need to be strong enough to handle it."
Rin immediately replied, "I will work even harder on my training!"
Makoto then glanced at Kushina, who smiled and said, "I'm fine with it. After all, you're here, right? When it's time for me to fight, I'll do it just like last time."
Kushina trusted Makoto deeply because he was able to control Kyuubi.
She felt that he was the one who had finally given her value as a Jinchuriki.
Makoto then had someone summon Yugito to come over, instructing her to leave with Rin, so that Rin and Kushina could consult with her on some issues.
Yugito wasn't sulking like before; when facing Rin and Kushina, she was very calm, which surprised Makoto.
His impression of Yugito was that she was a complete wild child.
When Yugito returned, she even asked Makoto if he could provide more daily supplies for them.
Makoto couldn't help but ask, "Are you planning to live in Konoha from now on?"
Yugito replied, "We don't have anywhere else to go except Konoha."
The girl's acting was somewhat clumsy, and Makoto immediately saw through it.
He didn't expose her but instead tried to entice her, saying, "If you can help Rin train into a perfect Jinchuriki, I'll consider giving you anything you want. Even the Fourth Raikage, I could consider releasing him."
Yugito was momentarily stunned, feeling a surge of excitement at first, but then she felt something was off.
Makoto continued, "If we really execute the Raikage, then Konoha and Kumogakure would become mortal enemies. Konoha doesn't like making enemies, and you from Kumogakure initiated an attack on our country, killing many of our comrades. We also killed many of yours, so it's pretty much even."
Yugito felt a flicker of doubt and pondered the credibility of Makoto's words.
Makoto found it amusing; the girl was too easy to read.
He took out a piece of paper with some written content and stamped it with a red seal.
"You can go to the finance department and withdraw some money. Buy whatever you need in the village. Not many people know your identities, so the villagers won't cause trouble for you."
Yugito stared blankly as she took the check from Makoto, then asked,
"You're letting us roam freely in the village? Aren't you worried?"
Makoto replied with a question, "You have seals on you, and can't use chakra. What can you do?"
He then smiled and added, "Moreover, if you really dare do something, I'll first saw off one of the Raikage's legs and send it to your Kumogakure, saying that it was caused by your misconduct here in Konoha."
"You three must still have family members in Kumogakure, right?"
"I wonder how the villagers will treat them when they hear about it."
Yugito shuddered at Makoto's words, her eyes filled with terror.
