Hokage Residence.
After bringing the two children back home, Anko startled the women in the house.
Ayari quickly reached out to check the red magatama necklaces around Naruto and Sasuke's necks.
Seeing that both were intact, she finally sighed in relief.
These were specially made by Makoto, designed to activate upon detecting malicious chakra.
Once triggered, they would establish a connection with the Tower of Solarity, which would then emit a protective beam to safeguard and teleport them.
Ayari repeatedly thanked Anko, but Anko just waved her hand indifferently.
Meanwhile, Mikoto and Kushina were sternly scolding the children for running outside recklessly during such a dangerous time.
Kushina, in particular, reacted emotionally, gripping Naruto's shoulders tightly.
Sasuke obediently fell silent after being reprimanded by his mother, but Naruto, on the other hand, remained defiant.
"We went out to help Dad fight the bad guys!"
Kushina's eyes instantly reddened.
She was both angry and disappointed, but instead of continuing to scold Naruto, she simply turned around and went back to her bedroom in silence.
Not wanting to get involved in their family drama, Anko chose to take her leave.
She didn't mention whom Naruto and Sasuke had encountered—she had only brought them back.
Mikoto gently tried to reason with Naruto, explaining that Kushina was just worried about him and that the outside world was truly dangerous.
Seeing his mother's reaction, little Naruto seemed to realize that he had done something wrong.
He lowered his head and remained silent.
"Go apologize to your mom," Mikoto urged.
Watching Naruto obediently head toward Kushina's bedroom, Mikoto let out a sigh.
"Kushina, she…"
"She'll be fine," Ayari simply replied.
In this household, Kushina sometimes acted like a single mother.
Her once carefree personality had become extremely sensitive, and she was deeply insecure.
All of her thoughts and concerns revolved around Naruto.
When Naruto pushed open the door to his mother's bedroom, he saw her sitting alone on the bed in complete silence.
He slowly walked up to her.
"Mom, I know I was wrong."
Seeing that Kushina didn't respond and still seemed upset, Naruto took both of her hands in his own and flashed her a big, bright smile.
"Mom, I know I was wrong."
Looking at her son's smile, the frustration in Kushina's heart gradually faded, but she still kept a stern expression and asked, "What exactly did you do wrong?"
"I shouldn't have run off during such a dangerous time and made you worry… made everyone worry."
Kushina continued questioning him, "Mikoto taught you that, didn't she? Do you really understand your mistake?"
Naruto nodded honestly. "Yes, Mikoto-mama taught me, but I really do understand. I won't do it again. I'm sorry, Mom."
Kushina's eyes flickered, and she couldn't help but reach out to ruffle Naruto's hair.
Seizing the moment, Naruto hugged his mother tightly.
"Oh, right, Mom, that bad guy today… he seemed to know you."
Kushina froze for a moment, then asked, "What did you say?"
"That person asked me what my name was… and he also asked what your name was."
Kushina's expression turned distant.
She lowered her head, looking at Naruto, who was still hugging her, and asked, "That person… what did he look like?"
Naruto thought for a moment. "He had yellow hair and looked kind of fierce."
Kushina's hand trembled slightly as she continued to ask, "His eyes… were they blue?"
"I don't remember," Naruto shook his head.
"Mom, do you know that bad guy?"
Kushina didn't respond.
Instead, she took out the red magatama hanging around Naruto's neck, holding it in her palm and carefully examining it.
He didn't hurt Naruto…
Kushina fell silent, slowly pulling Naruto into a tight embrace.
"Mom?"
"It's nothing," she finally said.
"I… knew him before. He's a criminal from the village—someone who ran away."
"Oh, I see. Dad will definitely capture him again, right?" Naruto looked up at Kushina expectantly.
Kushina gently stroked his hair. "Of course. Your dad is the strongest. And one day, you have to become just as strong as him—so no one can ever bully or hurt you."
"Mm!" Naruto nodded firmly.

In the dense forest at the edge of Konoha—
The arrival of Hyuga Makoto instantly put Minato and Jiraiya on high alert.
They had already witnessed the power of the Seven Crown Guards, so what about the Hokage himself?
They had never seen him fight.
The most well-known record of his strength seemed to date back to the Battle of Kikyo Mountain.
Back then, they were still comrades.
Minato had charged alone into enemy lines, only to be gravely injured and go missing.
Makoto had searched all over the Land of Fire to find him.
Thinking about it now, it was both sad and laughable.
Minato stood on the ground, looking up at the figure in the sky.
As the overwhelming hatred inside him cooled, the reality of their situation became clear—this was a tricky predicament.
He had come here only to rescue Jiraiya-sensei.
Every battle should be avoided if possible.
"Minato," Jiraiya said in a low voice beside him.
Right next to them was Konoha's barrier—if they could break through it, they could immediately escape using space-time ninjutsu.
But just as the two of them were strategizing in their minds, Makoto suddenly vanished from the sky.
When he reappeared, he was already behind them.
For an instant, Minato was caught off guard.
Before he could even turn around, a massive force struck him, sending him flying backward.
Ignoring the pain coursing through his body, only one thought echoed in his mind—
When had the opponent even moved?!
Was there truly a speed in this world that he couldn't keep up with?!
Jiraiya was shocked to see Minato sent flying and immediately prepared to strike back.
But before he could act, Makoto simply lifted his head slightly and raised his palm.
Boom!
A storm surged up around Jiraiya in an instant—winds howled, dust and sand swirled wildly.
His entire body froze on the spot, unable to move, unable to use chakra—completely trapped, as if he were nothing more than a plaything in Makoto's grasp.
His eyes widened as he felt forces from all directions tearing and pressing against him from every possible angle.
Meanwhile, Minato, after being struck down, quickly stabilized himself upon landing.
Without hesitation, he shot toward Makoto at extreme speed.
In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance, his right palm gathering a dense, spinning sphere of blue chakra—Rasengan!
Bang!
The Rasengan smashed directly toward Makoto's face—yet it collided with an invisible barrier.
It wasn't a chakra shield, nor was it some kind of energy field interference.
Minato's attack simply couldn't reach Makoto.
He pushed forward with all his might, feeling his own movement—but the mere centimeters between him and Makoto felt like an unbridgeable chasm.
He couldn't get closer!
Makoto stood there steadily, completely unaffected by the swirling air currents generated by the Rasengan.
His hair didn't even shift—he simply watched Minato calmly.
"Minato," he spoke slowly.
"Can you see the distance between us clearly now?"
Minato dispelled the Rasengan and leapt backward, his gaze locked onto Makoto with unwavering focus.
Then, without hesitation, he launched another attack.
But just like before, the newly formed Rasengan stopped a few centimeters away from Makoto—completely unable to reach him.
Out of reach…
Why?!
Minato couldn't understand—it was as if Makoto's ability had surpassed the limits of his comprehension.
He tried to retreat again, searching for another opportunity, but suddenly, he felt an immense, mountain-like pressure bearing down on him—he couldn't move.
"Why? Why can't you touch me?" Makoto spoke again, voicing the very question burning in Minato's mind.
"You've already pushed yourself to the limit. You can clearly feel yourself moving forward. So why can't you reach me?"
"..."
Minato was silent.
His throat tightened, and in that moment, he fully realized—the power of the man before him was on an entirely different level.
Not just beyond him, but beyond even the Seven Crown Guards.
Makoto looked at him indifferently and asked, "Do you know what the true distance between two objects is?"
"The answer is—infinity!"
Thud!
The raging storm that had engulfed Jiraiya suddenly ceased.
The legendary Sannin, who had been trapped at the eye of the storm, collapsed backward onto the ground—his fate unknown.
Between all things, there exists a force.
That force ensures that all objects maintain a certain distance.
Though minuscule to the naked eye, in another sense—it is infinitely vast!
Makoto had always been able to control force.
But with the Tenseigan, he wielded it with absolute mastery.
The closer someone got, the stronger the force became.
The closer someone got, the greater the resistance they faced.
No matter how close Minato seemed, the distance between them was an insurmountable chasm.
If Makoto willed it, Minato could spend an eternity trying—and he would never be able to touch him.
Minato's eyes widened in fury, his gaze locked onto Hyuga Makoto.
Makoto let out a quiet sigh and looked at Minato.
"Minato, you've already fallen behind this era."
"..."
The Rasengan in Minato's palm suddenly dissipated.
Seeing this, Makoto raised an eyebrow slightly.
Struggling against his immobilized body, Minato spoke with difficulty.
"Not long ago… I met your two sons. I didn't harm them."
"Can you… spare Jiraiya? He would never harm Konoha."
Makoto stared at him expressionlessly.
"Are you trying to negotiate with me?"
Minato let out a bitter chuckle.
"I have no bargaining chips left… I'm just pleading."
At that moment, it was as if he had suddenly accepted reality.
This was his final struggle.
But to Makoto, this display was utterly dull.
He had expected Minato to at least curse at him a few more times—to vent his resentment.
Makoto spoke coldly.
"You think you could ever harm my children?"
As he finished speaking, he lightly clenched his fist.
Crack! Crack!
The sound of bones breaking echoed from Minato's body.
Thud!
Minato collapsed to the ground—motionless.
The forest fell into an eerie silence.
A gust of wind swept through, making Makoto's cloak billow.
Just then—
He sensed movement in Minato's shadow.
Something was trying to burrow into the ground.
Makoto's brows furrowed sharply.
He raised his hand into a claw-like shape— A powerful suction force erupted—grasping the entity in his palm.
It was a mass of black substance, resembling slime.
If not for its eyes and mouth, one wouldn't even think it was a living creature.
"This is…" Makoto's eyes gleamed with surprise.
Of course, he knew exactly what it was—but this was completely unexpected.
Black Zetsu had been hiding on Minato all along!
Could it be that Minato ended up like this not just because of him, but also due to this thing's influence?
"Hyuga Makoto, I am—"
The black mass suddenly spoke.
"I know who you are."
Makoto cut it off immediately.
"Has Uchiha Madara already died?"
Black Zetsu was visibly shocked.
How did Makoto know about its connection to Madara?
Previously, Makoto had even sent a letter to Yahiko, warning him to beware of a certain "guiding figure" who was nothing more than a fraud.
Yet he hadn't expected Black Zetsu to target Minato instead.
Black Zetsu seemed about to say something, but Makoto knew everything about it.
He had no patience for further conversation.
Without hesitation, he used a sealing technique, completely imprisoning Black Zetsu.
The true mastermind behind all of this—the source of all tragedy in the ninja world—he would never let it go free.
Then, Makoto grabbed the unconscious Jiraiya and Minato's lifeless body and flew back to the Hokage Building, where he ordered the Anbu to handle the aftermath.
Standing on the rooftop of the Hokage Building, he glanced at Nanabi, Chomei, still struggling outside Konoha.
In the distance, the Tower of Solarity suddenly lit up with a dazzling radiance, shooting out a pure white beam that instantly pierced through the insect-like giant beast's body.
Chomei let out a mournful cry, and its massive form visibly collapsed at an incredible speed.
Outside Konoha's main gate, Hakumen and Guy were both momentarily stunned by the sight.
Chomei had vanished, leaving only its unconscious Jinchuriki on the ground.
"This…"
Guy was still in his Eight Gates Released Formation and Sage Mode state.
"It was Lord Hokage who took action," Hakumen let out a long breath, though his expression showed no joy.
He felt that he hadn't handled the situation well.
Guy returned to normal and looked up at the now eerily calm sky.
"How is the village?"
"If Lord Hokage has stepped in, then everything must be settled."
Hakumen stepped forward, hoisted the unconscious Jinchuriki onto his back, and turned toward Konoha.
Aside from a control room in the Tower of Solarity, Konoha had suffered almost no damage.
The rogue ninja Namikaze Minato was slain, Jiraiya was prevented from escaping, Minato's accomplice Nagato was captured, and the Seven-Tails Jinchuriki was taken alive.
One pair of Rinnegan, one Tailed Beast.
It could be called an overwhelming victory.
Yet, deep down, he felt little joy.
He did not concern himself with the follow-up matters, merely ordering others to guard the captives.
He returned alone to the Hokage Building and lay down in the lounge.
Samui let Makoto rest his head on her smooth, black-stockinged thighs, gently massaging his temples.
"Lord Hokage, what's troubling you?"
Makoto simply closed his eyes and didn't respond.
He had just personally killed Namikaze Minato.
Of course, he felt no guilt or remorse.
Yet, when he watched Minato die before his eyes, an inexplicable emptiness washed over him.
It was like the melancholic void one feels after finishing a story in his past life.
Suddenly, he understood something Orochimaru had once told him—that having someone who could stand as his enemy for a long time would be a wonderful thing.
That kind of thought was somewhat twisted, which annoyed him.
Was he supposed to have spared Minato? Had he made a mistake?
But thinking deeper, when the day finally came that he stood at the very pinnacle of this world, there would be nothing left but indulgence and pleasure—how utterly dull that would be.
And that day was not far off.
"Lord Hokage," Samui called out to him again.
"Hmm."
"Hakumen and Kakashi are waiting for you outside."
Makoto slowly opened his eyes and let out a long breath.
How could he possibly be wrong? Everything he did was right!
