Hokage Residence, Master Bedroom.
"Travel?"
Ayari looked at Makoto in surprise.
"Why… do you suddenly want to go on a trip?"
"I've never really taken you anywhere before. This time, I want to take you out to see the world."
"Just me…?"
Ayari was stunned for a moment before asking again, "Just the two of us?"
Makoto chuckled and asked in return, "Is that not okay?"
"Where to?"
"The Land of Iron."
Ayari didn't answer immediately but hesitated for a moment.
"Just the two of us… is that really appropriate? What about Ayano, Mikoto, and Kushina?"
Makoto replied indifferently, "What's inappropriate about it? I make the decisions. If you want to bring them along, you can. But if you just want to have some time alone with me, then we don't have to."
Of course, Ayari wanted to have time alone with Makoto, just the two of them.
But with so many women in the household now, she was afraid that leaving them out might cause resentment.
Especially her older sister, Ayano—she would definitely be unhappy about it.
She hesitated for a long moment before saying, "Let me think about it."
Makoto pulled her into his embrace from behind, holding her tightly as he said, "What's there to consider? Just the two of us."
The person in his arms didn't respond.
When Makoto let go, he saw her looking at him with a resentful expression.
He couldn't help but chuckle. "What's wrong? Are you unhappy that I want to take only you out?"
Ayari slowly said, "You're suddenly being so nice to me… Did you do something bad again?"
Makoto looked helpless. "So being nice to you is a crime now? Have I not treated you well before? If you really think it's a problem, then fine—we can take everyone along."
As he spoke, he spread his hands and lay back on the bed.
Ayari sat beside him, turning slightly to face him. "You know very well how you've treated me."
Makoto thought for a moment, then reached out and pulled her into his arms again.
"Then let me make it up to you now. Give me a chance—just the two of us, spending a few days away together."
Ayari was still hesitant. "But you're the Hokage… What about your work?"
"Don't worry, I've already taken care of everything."
Ayari was overwhelmed by this surprise, hesitating back and forth.
After all, she was the nominal mistress of the house.
Even though she was the youngest, she had always been respectful and considerate toward the other three women, fearing any potential conflicts.
Her sister was fine—since they were blood relatives, it only took her a while to adjust back then.
When Kushina and Mikoto first moved in, it was also Ayari who took the initiative to care about their situation.
Thinking about how Makoto never cared about any of these things, Ayari sometimes felt really wronged.
But she could only console herself—Makoto was the Hokage of the village, so it was natural that he had no time to manage household affairs.
She had to take care of everything herself; it was her duty.
After accepting the fact that Makoto had multiple women, Ayari had been working hard to play the roles of a wife, a mistress of the house, and a mother.
Sometimes, she wasn't even sure if she was truly happy in this family and this kind of relationship.
But one thing she was sure of—she deeply loved Makoto.
And there was also their child.
That night, as she lay in bed, Ayari kept pondering over the matter, so much so that she wasn't even focused during their intimacy, which made Makoto lose interest.
"Makoto."
Ayari rested her head on Makoto's arm, calling out to him just as he was about to fall asleep.
"Hmm?" Makoto responded groggily.
Ayari slowly said, "How about… we bring everyone along after all?"
Now fully awake, Makoto sighed helplessly. "With so many people in the family, we'd have to take care of the kids once we get there. Would we even have time for ourselves? And if we don't bring them, can Natsu handle taking care of everything alone at home?"
Ayari still wanted to say something, but Makoto, feeling a bit impatient, said, "Enough, stop talking. Just the two of us are going. I've decided."
However, only a few minutes later, Ayari spoke up again, "How about…"
"If you don't go to sleep right now, we're not going at all!"
Ayari let out a pitiful "Oh," feeling wronged.
In her heart, she thought, I'm only thinking about you. Who told you to have so many women anyway?
By midday the next day, Makoto had already returned from the Hokage building.
Seeing Ayari, he asked, "Have you finished packing?"
However, at that moment, Ayano suddenly stepped forward from the side and said, "I'm going too!"
Makoto glanced at Ayari in surprise, but she avoided his gaze.
Then, looking at Mikoto and Kushina, their expressions made it clear that they already knew about this.
Finding the situation troublesome, Makoto immediately put on a stern face and scolded Ayano, "Go where? Do you even know what I'm going for this time?"
After spending so much time together, Ayano was no longer as afraid of Makoto as she used to be.
She pouted and said, "Of course I know. You just want to ditch us and the kids so you two can go have fun."
Makoto replied calmly, "I'm going to attend the Five Kage Summit. Ayari is the Hokage's wife, so she'll accompany me."
The Five Kage Summit?
Ayari hadn't heard about this at all.
Upon hearing it, she looked utterly shocked.
Meanwhile, sitting on the sofa, Kushina quietly asked Mikoto, "Can wives even attend the Five Kage Summit?"
Mikoto pondered for a moment.
She had never heard of such a thing before, but after thinking it through, she was convinced that Makoto was just making this up to fool Ayano.
Ayano had nothing to say in response, but she was clearly upset.
She turned away, sat on the sofa, and sulked in silence.
Makoto only felt more troubled.
Having so many women meant he had to keep things fair, which was becoming a real headache.
He couldn't help but glare at Ayari, who guiltily averted her eyes, looking everywhere but at him.
"Hurry up and pack your things," Makoto said directly to Ayari.
Unable to resist Makoto's firmness, Ayari could only reply with a soft "Oh," glance at her sister, and then turn to head into the master bedroom.
Ayano seemed even more aggrieved now.
Mikoto moved closer and gently patted her shoulder.
After hesitating for a moment, she stood up, walked over to Makoto's side, and spoke softly, "Why don't you bring Ayano along? Kushina and I can take care of things at home, it'll be fine."
Makoto glanced at Ayano, who was sitting on the sofa.
The woman was clearly eavesdropping on their conversation.
Without hesitation, he walked over, and Ayano quickly turned her head to the side, avoiding his gaze.
"What's wrong? Feeling upset?"
"No," Ayano muttered.
Makoto pressed further, "Do you realize you were wrong?"
"...Yes." Ayano bit her lip and reluctantly admitted it.
"What exactly was your mistake?" Makoto continued his questioning.
"…"
Ayano's eyes instantly reddened.
Mikoto, seeing this, wanted to smooth things over, but Makoto raised a hand to stop her.
Ayano lowered her head, remaining silent for a long moment before finally murmuring, "I… shouldn't have been unreasonable."
Only then did Makoto nod and say, "As long as you understand. Go pack your things."
Ayano was stunned upon hearing this.
She lifted her head, her tear-filled eyes looking at Makoto in confusion.
Makoto added, "If you don't want to go, then forget it."
Mikoto gently nudged Ayano from the side.
"Oh—no, I… that's not… I'll go! I'll go pack right now!"
Ayano suddenly became flustered, speaking in a jumbled manner.
She scrambled to her feet, then hurriedly turned and rushed to the bedroom.
Whether she still felt aggrieved or not didn't matter anymore—if she refused to take the opportunity given to her, she'd be a fool.
Watching her retreating figure, Makoto felt both amused and exasperated.
He sat down on the sofa and gestured for Mikoto and Kushina to come over.
Mikoto obediently leaned against Makoto's chest, while Kushina sat on his other side, letting him wrap an arm around her.
"All right, I'll be counting on you two to take care of things at home for the next few days. If anything happens, just go to the clan and give the orders."
"Got it," both women responded at the same time.
"I'll take you two out next time."
"Mm." The two women replied, seemingly understanding.
Makoto could easily tell who was being sincere and who was just saying what he wanted to hear, but to him, it didn't matter in the slightest.
He wasn't some cliché villain from a soap opera, losing his mind in jealousy just because he couldn't obtain a woman's true heart.
As long as he had her body, that was enough.
Makoto had a thousand ways to make them smile and willingly cater to him—what they truly thought inside was of no concern to him.
