Beginnings and Ends (18)

Kodak looks at the attacker's face. Feelings of fear and despair takeover as looks further into Satsujin's eyes. The eyes had an immense amount of uncontrollable bloodlust.

"You're not Satsujin." His voice was shaky and uncertain of the foe in front of him.

Kodak's kinetic energy keeps charge directly at the controlled Satsujin. 

Jashi then spoke through Satsujin, directly at Kodak.

His voice was creepy and unsettling. Chills were sent down his back as he laid there, constricted by his opponent's leg lock.

Kodak's anger raged immensely and headbutted his foe, knocking the controlled Satsujin away with his nose bleeding.

He spoke again to Kodak, however he didn't even try to hide his voice this time. 

Jashi speaks his true voice through Satsujin, Kodak feels goosebumps and rage inside himself amplify.

Kiko and Kuroi's eyes go a dark shade of purple and Kuroi yells at Kodak, wanting control of his body. "Give me control."

"What!?"

Kiko looks at Kuroi with shock and slaps him with her left hand, causing a red mark to stain on his face.

She yells at Kuroi, wanting him to look at the situation differently. "What do you think will happen if Kodak is taken over by your 5th dimensional powers?!"

Kuroi looks at her angrily, his eyes pierced through her and his voice spoke to her coldly. "I need to do this."

He starts attempting to take over the body.

Kodak looks at the controlled Satsujin, trying to watch his movements. "To think you would control by loved ones, I will kill you this time."

Jashi scoffs at him and just chuckles to himself. "And makes you certain that you can best me in revenant boy?"

Kodak's hand sparks up with kinetic energy.

[Kinetic Burst is ready!]

"This asshole." Kodak says, brimming with confidence.

Jashi smirks and looks at Kodak with no expectations. "Go ahead dumbass."

Kuroi glares at Kiko, his intentions seemingly ill and ominous.

"I need to do this Kiko." His voice was cold and angry.

Kiko's eyes stared at Kuroi in disbelief of his current mindset and state. Why was he doing this? 

Kuroi then lifts his hand and a dark aura surrounds him. It felt eerie and destructive.

Kiko runs at him, trying to stop him. Screaming, "Don't do this Kuroi-san!"

As she runs at him a single word could be heard from his cold icy tone. "Stop." The tone of his voice echoes through the domain that withheld in the mindscape.

Kiko feels her body freeze up, she couldn't do anything or even move for that matter.

Rain behinds pouring outside, Kodak and Jashi look at each other. Their gaze pierced into each other, waiting for the next move.

"(My kinetic burst is ready to fire, if he makes even a single move. I'll put him down like the damn animal he is.)"

That's what he wanted to think, but could Kodak really do that?

Yeah his family's killer was standing in front of him and he wanted to kill Jashi, ending this nightmare, but Satsujin was still alive. Could he really kill someone inhabiting the body of the person who became a second father to him? Could he kill Jin-San?

Those were the thoughts that echoed in Kodak's mind, his eyes softened for moment. He was conflicted with two options.

Try to kill Jashi, but ends up losing the person who gave him a second family. Or let Satsujin live but the killer of his beloved Mother and Sister still walked this cruel world.

"(Can I really do this?)" His kinetic energy then started to fluctuating, reacting to his different sides of emotions. One amplifying the power due to his rage felt against Jashi. And another dropping his power, not wanting to harm the man who became like a second father to him.

A message then popped up from the system.

[Warning! If you don't choose now, the innate technique will forcefully deactivate itself!]

Kodak's mind start to race even faster, he couldn't choose his decision. It felt wrong to choose. "(I can't! Maybe I'm just selfish, but I want Jin-San to live properly!)"

But before he do anything Kodak's technique deactivates and the powerful kinetic energy dissipates. Jashi notices this and starts laughing at the indecisive Kodak standing before him. "HAHAHA!"

His laughter had Kodak conflicted even more, he wanted this motherfucker gone. He wanted to kill him. He wanted revenge.

These multiple things were just a fragment of what Kodak wanted or even needed to do. But before he could even do anything Jashi rushes at him, his aura reinforcement was strong, stronger than anyone he faced. Hell, Kodak went as far to think Jashi could try Kenji's level power.

"(He's too fast! I can barely dodge!)"

Jashi chases Kodak down as the two of them play a game of cat and mouse. Jashi etched closer to him, trying to catch and tear Kodak to shreds.

"(This bastard may be a weakling compared Kenji, but I can't quite kill him with this body's current strength.)"

As the both of them fought, Jashi thought how he could fight Kodak with the little strength Satsujin's body had.

Multiple messages from the system then pops up in front of Jashi.

[Unable to access innate technique!]

[Please train more to gain access!]

[Body has become unstable!]

Jashi's jaw tightened in anger. "DAMMIT ALL!" He screamed in rage and in a fit of rage, lands a lethal kick straight at Kodak's liver. "Guah!"

He smirked at this and moves in to finish the fight, but as he rushed in Kodak smirked. 

"DON'T GET COCKY YOU BRAT!!!"

Another kick is thrown at Kodak, but he puts his hands up, catching it. "Too fucking slow."

A message then pops up from Kodak's point of view.

[Innate Skill: Kinetic Burst is fully charged!]

Kinetic energy surges through Kodak's entire body, the output and quantities of it was so immense. 

Kodak's mind did however scramble a little though, still hesitates. Thinking about his actions and the consequences it would have.

He did make up his mind, Jashi would take to force of his blow, hopefully. Kodak calms his thoughts and steels his resolve. And as he moves his body to punch Jashi, Kodak feels control of his body fading. His mind start to race with fear and he quickly realizes who tried taking over his body.

[Warning! If you try to takeover this body you may receive backlash from causality!]

Kuroi dismisses the message from the system and forcefully takes over Kodak's body.

Kiko tries to move but is still being restrained by Kuroi's technique from earlier, she still tries but to no success.

Kodak holds his head in pain, "(Kuroi! What the fuck are you doing!)"

"I need to do this for you and Kiko, to rid of this burden."

Kuroi extends out his hand, controlling Kodak to use Kinetic burst.

[Innate technique: Kinetic Charge is charging up!]

[Error]

Kuroi looks at the messages from the system in surprise. He then feels his control over Kodak's body slipping from his grasp.

His eyes widen in anger and fear, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING I CAN BEAT HIM AND WIN THIS FOR US!!!" He screamed, begging for Kodak to let him end the weakened Jashi.

Kodak glares at into the mindscape. "SHUT UP! THIS MY FIGHT!"

His eyes begin to cry and Kuroi begins to feel what emotions Kodak felt, this entire fight.

Kuroi holds his chest in pain and his control over Kodak ceases, dropping to the ground and as he cries looking at a message from the system. His eyes widen in anger and even fear.

[Causality is taking effect!]

"Keok! Fuck!"

Kuroi grovels on the ground, this pain he felt was worse than anything he felt in life. He couldn't bare it and just wanted it to end him.

Kiko then feels her body gain full control again. She rushes over to Kuroi trying to help him with the causality he was facing right now.

She didn't know. It wasn't something she could just take away.

[Skill: Repaired Will activated strongly!]

Teal blue energy begins to surround her hands, the energy moves toward Kuroi. His body starts to shift from the painful feeling of causality, to a warm feeling from Kiko's hands. But as soon as he felt safe for a moment, sparks flying around his body and pain ensues.

"Kiko!" Kuroi struggled to even say anything. His body groaned in pain as he cried out in agony. This pain was greater than anything he felt, even that one event.

Kodak then feels something deep within his body, it was painful as ever living hell. It also let Kodak know that one of his avatar's were in danger.

[Warning! One of your avatars are facing causality!]

His face filled pain and Kodak laid on the ground in agony. "(Come on Move! Overcome this shitty pain!)"

Jashi stands up weakly. He looks at Kodak and scoffs at him. "Tch, your avatars are nothing. Just pathetic as you are Kawanaris are!"

Jashi lashes out, trying to use his reinforcement aura to harm Kodak. Confidence descends on him, fueling his ego.

"Disappear!"

A voice echoed through Jashi, he looks into the mindscape. It was Satsujin and he was trying to retake control.

Jashi's anger skyrocketed, "HOW ARE ABLE TO BATTLE FOR CONTROL!?"

Satsujin rushes at Jashi, punching him across the jaw. He then grabs him by his arm and slams his elbow into the end of Jashi's bicep. 

He lets out roar of pain. "GAHHHHH!"

Satsujin throws a kick at Jashi, aimed at his head. His confidence only soars higher as he thinks the kick has landed.

"Kidding. You're so damn predictable." Jashi holds the leg and moves it to his side.

Satsujin pulls his leg out and moves his body back, slamming his heel into Jashi's face.

Blood leaks from his nose, causing him to stumble back.

 Satsujin jumps at Jashi, knocking him to the ground. "I'm putting you down for good!"

Jashi chuckles to himself, catching Satsujin off guard. "What's so damn funny!?"

"I have the abilities to change what ever I touch, besides things that exceed my strength. I could cure your wife. Bring your daughter Nao, back to life."

Satsujin's eyes look at Jashi with interest. He stands up, getting off Jashi and releasing his grip on his neck. "Speak, while I'm still interested."

Jashi smirks and dusts off his legs. "Good. now let's get down to business.

Kuroi continues his struggling against the causality dwelling within his body. But he suddenly feels the painful sensation leaving his body, he looks to right seeing Kiko trying to take some of the causality. "no."

His voice trembled in fear for Kiko. "DON'T DO IT!"

The dangerous energy of causality travels to Kiko. But it doesn't leave completely has the causality circulates through both Kiko and Kuroi's bodies.

The causality dwindles, pain leaves their bodies as Kiko and Kuroi lay in the mindscape, holding hands. "I guess we really are bonded to one another." Kuroi says while chuckling to himself. Kiko smirks at Kuroi joking and she looks at their wounds caused by the causality. "(We got lucky, if he used anymore strength. We would have been reduced to mere atoms.)"

[Skill: Repaired Will activated strongly!]

The both of them see the same teal energy from before surround Kiko's hands, extending to around them. The energy swirls like a tornado around them. It felt warming and relaxing to the touch of this seemingly endless healing energy. Their wounds begin to disappear as their body's numbness and pain leaves, almost like a plague being cured from a bedriven body.

Kodak then feels the pain disappearing as well. He sees a message pop up in front of him.

[Warning! Ranker: Kodak Kawanari is not really for repaired will!]

His head begins to spin as he passes and falls to the floor.

Kuroi looks at Kiko blankly. "You're an idiot."

Kiko looks at Kuroi annoyed. "Yeah, well how was I suppose to know he couldn't handle repaired will?!"

He shakes his head in response to Kiko's thought process and looks through the mindscape. "He's a fucking idiot if he thinks Satsujin won't cause trouble."

Satsujin opens his eyes and hears Jashi. "Remember our deal. Just do your life as you please for now."

He ignores Jashi's insistent nagging, focusing his attention toward the unconscious Kodak before him. "Looks like he was right. He was taught revenant."

Satsujin raises his hand, aiming it at Kodak.

Satsujin frowns a little. "(I just wanna know his abilities. I guess my curiosity is left unanswered as per usual.)" 

He walks over to the unconscious Kodak, looking at him with a conflicted look in his eyes.

Satsujin then picks up Kodak, carrying him up the stairs, his face looked at the boy he carried. "(I'm sorry, but this is for the sake of my family. Someday you may understand why I did this.)" 

[Friday 7:45 AM]

Kodak lays in his bed sleeping soundly. His snoring accompanied by chirping birds.

The sunlight bleeds through his curtains and into his room. The room lights up with gold shine of Autumn. His face is then rudely hit by the bright ray of sunlight, scrunching his face in response to the rude awakening.

Kodak slowly arises from his bed, looking over the bedside and yawning for a moment. A slight pain then shoots up his back, "What the hell did I do to my back?"

He then thinks about yesterday. "(Jashi took over Satsujin's body and was able to almost kill me with just basic revenant manipulation. It was wasn't even a skill, just his revenant. Proves just how capable he truly is.)"

Kodak then thinks to himself about how it could've been possible that Satsujin had came into contact with Jashi. "(Alliance? No, I could sense them fighting for control, but their revenant pools were resonating with one another. Could Kenji be right about all of this?)"

Kodak shakes his head to even the thought of killing Satsujin. "(What am I thinking! Jin-San is a father, a husband, and a role model. For us all to love and appreciate!)"

He pushes the thought of killing Satsujin to the back of his mind. He couldn't do it. He meant too much to both Kodak and the Tensai family.

Kuroi wakes up and looks at Kodak glaring at him. "(I was acting out of line. If he didn't stop me, the causality would've eventually taken over him and Kiko. In a way, he saved us all.)" 

He looks back to his left, losing him in Kiko's beautiful sapphire eyes. It was like watching them glistening in a deep dark cave.

Kodak walks out of the bathroom shortly, dressed in his school uniform. A smaller towel was laying on his head, drying his wet hair.

He walks to his closet, grabbing a computer bag and some dark blue shoes.

Kuroi taps him on the shoulder to try getting his attention. Kodak looks behind and just glares at him. "What?" His tone was cold and harsh. A vein pops from Kuroi's forehead.

[An Avatar used Skill: Void Of Silence!] 

[Your voice cannot be heard from the outside.]

Revenant expands from Kuroi and Kodak's positions, covering them from a 5 meter radius. Ashiro and Satsujin sense the revenant emanating from Kodak's room.

Satsujin looks over in the direction of revenant, his focus etched completely on the room. "(What are you planning?)" 

Kuroi grabs Kodak by his collar, slamming into the barrier of revenant he created. He looks at him furiously, his teeth grinding against one another. "OPEN YOUR FUCKING EYES YOU SELFISH BASTARD!!!"

His eyes widen with surprise at Kuroi's outburst. His face was overwhelming with rage at first glance, But Kodak saw him in pain.

"You said you were doing this for Kiko and I. Why? What's your goal in getting caught up in my business!"

Kuroi's face got even more angry as he got in Kodak's face,staring him down. "I am doing this for us all. End of story." He says, walking away.

Kodak then feels a sense of sorrow in him and Kuroi. "If that's so, then why are sad Kuroi? What makes you this sad?"

Kuroi looks back at Kodak, his face stared at him harshly. "Stay the fuck out of this."

Kodak's jaw clenched tightly as a vein popped from his forehead and jawline. "You talk a lot of shit for not taking your own advice."

Kuroi turned around and glared at Kodak.

[Avatar Kuroi used Skill: Eyes of Rage!]

His eyes glow a crimson red before briefly fading back to its normal color. Kuroi was deeply confused by this, how was his skill not working on Kodak?

A message from the system then popped up. 

[Skill can not be used on the user's soul!]

Kuroi looked at the message confused. "(What!?)" He thought about how Kodak could be able to resist Eyes Of Rage. "(That's one of my many skills that target someone's soul. So why is he able to resist it? Wait?! Can he perceive and interact with someone's soul!?)"

He lifts his hand, using another skill. But Kodak smacks his hand & immediately rushed at Kuroi, grabbing him by the Montsuki Hakama he wore. "Stop with the fucking skills and tell me what the hell you're doing Kuroi!"

He just stared at Kodak with the same harsh look. "You're fucking pointless to talk with!"

Kodak walks out of the bedroom and into a bathroom. He then held his chest in pain and tears fill his eyes. "(This isn't my sorrow, it's Kuroi's.)"

Kiko wakes up shortly after Kodak exits the room in anger and looks at someone crying. "Kuroi-Kun!? What happened?!"

He shook his head and tears fell down from his face. "This goddamned curse! Why won't it disappear even in death!!!"

Kuroi then feels Kiko's hands holding his head. Her voice calmed him and soothed his scrambled mind. "Shh, I'm here Kuroi. Just let it out and I'll be the shoulder you can lean on."
