Chapter 5

With a heavy heart, I reluctantly trailed behind my three brothers, their anger palpable as we approached the cellar door.

"Rachel Harper, do you honestly believe that staying quiet in there will save you from facing the consequences?" they called out.

The cellar remained silent.

William's expression darkened further as he said, "Rachel Harper, stop this charade. Come out now and beg Lily for forgiveness on your knees!"

"Don't think you can avoid the repercussions of hurting Lily by hiding, turning off your phone, and ignoring us!" he added.

Henry, his eyes burning with fury, shouted, "Rachel Harper, you've become quite brazen. You're clearly jealous of our kindness towards Lily, so you're using this silent treatment to provoke us!"

"Do you really think we'll give in first just because you're hiding and refusing to respond?" he demanded.

Still, no sound came from within the cellar.
