Chapter 6

She even directly told my parents:

"Relying on him alone, you'll never see a house in this city in your lifetime. Let him come back with me, or you'll never see your grandchild again."

I frowned, "How can you say that? Those are my parents, not yours! Why are you dragging them into this?"

"Why can't I? To me, they're no different from my own parents. Divorce is a big deal, everyone should be involved."

She then shrugged, "If you don't want to go back, I'll just stay here."

Seeing that I wouldn't budge, Melody started to get crafty.

She began stirring up trouble, making me beg her parents, and even desperately tried to drive a wedge between me and her folks.

What she didn't know was that ever since I'd been jobless at home for a while after our marriage, my in-laws had stopped liking me.

They'd even hinted to Melody about divorcing me.

I'd heard it all.

So when I called my in-laws, telling them Melody refused to leave and was begging me not to divorce her.
