I watch as he closes his eyes, taking a moment to absorb this feeling before closing the gap between our lips.

I slide my fingers up his chest and wrap my hands around the back of his neck, pulling him closer to me. He groans in response, vibrating against my lips.

I felt like I had been run over. I had no idea what had happened or how I ended up here.

The last thing I remember was the smoke being thrown at me like daggers, and everything went black from there.

"Oh, you're waking up." I hear her voice and immediately feel sick.

I turned my head the best I could in the direction her voice came from.

"Jalesa, why the hell are you inside my house, let alone next to my bed?" I ask, my voice weak and my throat dry.

She gets up and grabs a glass of water.

Sitting on the side of my bed, she helps me sit up and gives me the glass.

I'm thankful for this, as my throat feels like the desert itself, but I'm so confused about how she could possibly be here.
