As the large shadow entered the range, I was finally able to lock on the target to get a better picture of what exactly was I facing.
Looking at the reading at first, I blinked several times thinking that the helmet visor was bugging out.
The readings were so outrageous that there was no way anything living like this could exist on earth.
From the records, I knew the largest living things on the planet were African Bush Elephant weighing six ton with a height of four meters. It was said anything above that would need specific food chain to sustain the sheer weight to walk.
This behemoth stood at seven feet tall and walked upright. Granted it's speed was slow, it had large lanky limbs that went up to it's knees.
It had massive legs twice thicker than it's arms and a bulky body that seemed bloated giving it the strangest body type.
But it was like a mountain moving in Samuel direction surrounded by hundreds of zombies that were surrounding it like a parent.
It also had a huge telephone pole in it's hand probably used as a club to attack. What's even more bizzare was the body of the monster didn't look like it came from a single person.
The head had different protrusions sticking out to give it a more rounder look but through his night vision I could tell what those things were. It was a collection of head seemingly merged together to form a big head with a tiny one at the center which seemed to be the only one who had open eyes, rest were either half melted inside or around it and some that were sticking out had horrified expression on their face.
Few of them had their jaws fused to the neck while their eyes were hollow making the scene even more scarier. But his rest of the body was nothing sort of the nightmare fuel.
The muscles on it's body was a fusion of different limbs from different humans. One one side, it's collar bone was sticking out and from the size of it, it seemed to be the femur bo e from the leg fused with other bones with different limbs wrapped around it to make the whole thing functional.
The larger chucks seemed to be torso parts, even it's leg seemed to be stiched together like a Frankenstein mosnter from fiction. Nothing about this monster seemed normal to me and even Ariella was silent upon scanning the things.
" There are around hundred of heart valves fused together probably to give this monster the strength to move. From the infrared scan, unlike other zombies this one seemed to have warm blood in it's body which is strange." Ariella finally responded.
" Should I just shoot off it's head like the others?" Theo asked not sure what seemed like the right protocol for this situation. Whether it was living or dead, a headshot seemed to do the job right?
" I don't have sufficient data to answer that question but I can tell that first yiu need to disarm it or hit it's leg then aim for it's head or center of what appear to be it's chest. That where I can sense the most amount of heat." Ariella replied.
" Isn't that practically a battle plan?" I wanted to fight it out but I saw the beast was close enough that's when it gave out another loud roar which affected me much more as it was right at my face.
What happened next nearly made me wet my pants! Seemingly out of no where a dozen walkers came out from his shadow and began charging toward me along with hundreds of zombies that was protecting the behemoth!
" Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" I started firing. With drug still in affect, I picked up four of them instantly but rest swarmed by other eight as they tacked me to the ground.
It was first time for me to experience how strong these things were. They might be using their limbs most of the times but they cling on to my armour while trying to bite me repeatedly fortunately the special alloy was strong enough to withstand their bite force.
I could hear Ariella voice buzzing in my ear as I was out of it for a moment before I fumbled for my rifle before I started firing indiscriminately.
Four of them trying to hold on to my legs and splitting me apart trying to tear my limbs while two sat on top of me trying to bite my face off. The one trying to hold my hands didn't have time as I had enough strength to punch it even when laying on back, making it fly fifteen feet off the ground.
These armour were no joke. They might look flimsy sticking to wearer's skin but these nano machines were designed by the 'God', the overseeing artificial intelligence back on his home planet to deal with anything one would experience during space missions.
That meant solar radiation, flying debris at a velocity of hundreds or even thousands of miles an hour and even lack of oxygen or other nutrients in the body when one was stranded.
Such a high tech gear was something only the space cadet had the honor to wear and he was a passing recruit. Even if he was a space minor, it didn't matter. Space was space and protection was a basic law hence everyone got to have access to these tech when they went on mission in space.
" Motherfuckers get off me!" I blasted them off narrowly missing my own limbs because of how scared and angry I was. The power was still turned too high for me to be using it on these small zombies but I didn't care. Right as I was entering some sort of berserk mode.
I felt a huge dread wash over me for some reason. It was like I was nearing the end of my life and in front of my eyes, I knew the reason for why I was feeling that way.
While I was fighting with the zombies the behemoth had already walked close enough to raise it's telephone pole of a club above it's head and I can see it descend upon me like a hammer of god.
