Chapter 33

I took a six-month medical leave.

When I returned to the TV station, I couldn't face those cameras and photos anymore, so I requested a transfer to a behind-the-scenes position.

However, as days went by, I still felt like a walking corpse, devoid of any vitality.

My colleagues couldn't bear to see me like this, so they tried to introduce me to new people by dragging me to blind dates.

I had no interest whatsoever, just wanting to say a few words and leave.

But that's when I met Lucas.

When I saw that face, identical to Lucas's.

I was stunned.

It took all the strength I had.

To not break down and cry right then and there.

Later, I found out.

He was the brother Lucas had mentioned before.

Finding a replacement.

At first, it does bring comfort.

Those ordinary days seemed so beautiful and tempting.

When he worked late, I could prepare dinner and wait for him to come home.

On days off, we could curl up on the couch and watch movies together.
