Nyx's POV
The rays of sunlight flooded my eyes as they fluttered open. I wondered how long I had been asleep for. I didn't realize how I missed a good bed. Sleeping on the cabins wooden bed was not the easiest thing and I sure wouldn't complain because I didn't want to be seen as a spoit Princess especially when Ian was trying his best.
....
Speaking of which, I looked around. Where was he....
The sheet I used to cover him was neatly folded up lying beside me. I heard clanking sounds in the kitchen and soon the smell of jade tea drifted into my nostrils. I walked to the kitchen which was not hard to find in the one room apartment.
On noticing me, Ian turned and gave me a warm smile and yesterdays events came flooding to my mind as my cheeks went red embarrassed.
"Good morning Princess." Roshan said bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Good morning Roshan, Good morning Ian" I said as I smiled and curtsied slightly.
"The wash room is in there, I'm hoping we have everything you need, take your time but try not to take too much time cos today is a very busy day," Roshan added after. I raised my eye brows and I noticed Ian's was raised too.
"What are we doing today?" Ian asked speaking my mind.
Roshan turning towards us and seeing the confusion on our faces let out a deep sigh, and soon the smile I was used to was plastered on his face.
"I actually thought you'll be rather excited." Roshan said pretending to have his feelings hurt. "....Well since this is going to be your new life , I thought I'll show you around MY city." He added shortly after.
"YOUR CITY...?" Roshan and I exclaimed at the same time.
He smiled again and turning towards me he mouthed hurry up.
I ran to the bathroom though with a lot of questions on my mind. I was actually looking forward to this bath with clean water at least one without tadpoles and fingerlings inside ...
The smell of lavender greeted me as I walked in. Dipping my body inside the tub, I felt my aching muscles relax.
If only this could last forever...," I thought sighing at the end.
My thoughts drifted back to Roshan as I wondered how he could own a city. He probably meant he is the mayor or something as Roshan didn't strike me as the detailed decor guy.
My eyes gleamed as I pictured how beautiful the city would be especially with how wonderful the terraces looked. Was he joking? I mean come on.., he had to be as rich as my dad or something to own such a place.
At this point I realised I knew nothing about Roshan, how could someone this powerful not be known. Determined and curious to find out, I hastened my bath and soon I was dressed in the plain white spaghetti strapped cotton flay gown that stopped just above my knee which Roshan had given to me with a coat draped over me.
Returning to the living room, I noticed Ian was dressed too though very lightly in a red sweatshirt and grey pants. We sat and ate our breakfast in peace engaging in small conversations and soon Roshan motioned us to go.
Opening the door, a man stood outside dressed in a black suit, his blonde hair was gelled backwards his hand poised as if he was about to knock. His facial features were soft and his structured chin showed confidence.
"Hello, he said displaying a slight smile which made his face even more beautiful.
"Hello!" I replied with a little wave.
"R...?" He said turning back to Roshan.
"You can drop the formalities Zimri." Roshan replied with a smile.
"Zimri.....Nyx Kage and Ian Hale." He added, and turning to us, he continued
"Ian, Nyx....Zimri, my brother."
BROTHER!!!, The word rang in my head. Looking from him to Roshan, they looked nothing alike. Roshan looked mischievous with his jet black hair and hazel eyes while Zimri looked a loyal prince.
Roshan and Zimri scutted to the side to have a conversation and soon later, Zimri walked towards us and Roshan disappeared from site.
"Shall we go?" Zimri said replacing his serious face with a courteous smile.
"What of Roshan..?" Ian asked and I wondered the same also.
"He is very sorry but he has some city matters to attend to and he'll be back as soon as possible, in the mean time let me show you around." He added afterwhich I heard Ian scoff. Not sure why.
"So are you and Roshan really siblings?" I asked stretching my ears to hear not wanting to miss anything.
"I believe you'll get to hear the story in due time." He answered and I sighed disappointed to which he smiled slightly.
The streets were alive with people, parents holding the hands of the kids shouting words even though their distance wasn't far. The air smelt of hot buns and chocolate and I couldn't wait to get my teeth on some.
Ian stopped abruptly and his gaze narrowed as he looked around. His expression becoming serious.
"Someone has sharp senses." Zimri praised nodding slightly liking what he was seeing. I looked around squinting my eyes but I couldn't make out any intruder but I knew something was off based on Ian's reactions.
. . . .
Two figures came into view walking towards us unafraid.
"My my, who do we have here? "
