"And I'm not going to ask twice", May said her face lighting up with a calm smile.
"Did you miss your way, princess", the scruffy one said probably the leader as the others seemed to wait on his lead.
"And what if we don't want to ", another one said scoffing.
"We are the hunters, and this young man messed with the wrong people", the leader said tightening his grip on the neck on the small boy.
She could see green scarfs thrown on the floor and she realised it was the same boy she met earlier. Her blood boiled slightly but she maintained her calm expression.
"No", May said slowly reeaching the leader in a second throwing all of them into confusion and shock.
"You all messed with the wrong predator"
SNAP
A breaking sound was heard and the hand that held the kid could be seen dangling broken into two maybe three..
Turning sharply to look at the others, they all shuffled unto their feet and broke into a run.
"That was incredible, how did you do that?", the boy said his eyes gleaming with excitement and admiration.
"Oh no, they called for back up, lets go miss pretty", the boy said dragging Mays hand breaking into a run as hurried footsteps could be heard making its way to their direction.
May followed along running through the alley. Though she was sure she could probably fight all of them in their fiftys without breaking a sweat, that kind of popularity wasn't what she wanted right now. Plus she plausibly couldn't leave the boy on his own at this moment.
Having no where else to go, she followed the boy until they reached what she presumed as a safe zone as his strides seemed to slow down. And soon they were standing in front of a wooden door of what looked like a cabin but remodelled a little to blend in with the times.
A woman that looked like she was in her forties opened up as we knocked, her eyes widening with shock and relief as she spotted the boy immediately giving him a hug.
"How are you, are you okay, here, let me see", she started, bombarding the boy with multiple questions at once.
"I'm alright, thanks to miss pretty", the boy managed to say between one of her questions.
Turning her head looking up, that's when she finally noticed May who gave a slight wave in return.
"Sorry, i didn't see you there", she said finally slowing down a little embarrassed.
"Its alright", May answered a little shyly.
"Come on in, why don't we have dinner together as a thank you for saving junior", the mom started.
"I'm sure Juniors father would like to meet you too", she added nudging May along not really giving her a chance to say no.
Junior rushed in to the small living room joining two men who were surprised to see him.
"We heard you were in trouble", the younger one said. Looking well his facial features looked relatively young making May wonder what he must have been through to train his body in such way.
"I was, the hunters caught junior as junior tried to slip through the alley and junior was really scared and it made junior cry", he started, referring to himself in the third person.
"But then miss pretty showed up, and she was like pao! and boom! And all the hunters ran away. Miss pretty is the strongest", he finished, gesturing with his hands feeling proud of his narration giving himself a mental pat on the back.
"And does miss pretty have a name", the older one said making May a little embarrassed especially being called that by an older person.
"May...", she said slowly feeling a little awkward.
"May why don't you come with me", the mother started smiling calmly.
"It would be nice to finally have another girl around here", she added. Turning around,May followed her quietly into the kitchen area. Something about Juniors mom made her feel at ease not feeling the need to keep her guard up.
"There's no way", the younger one started breaking the silence as soon as May left.
"The hunters are just too strong, we have been trying to stop them but they just too strong most especially Gorm...", he continued saying the last part with disgust.
"But I'm telling the truth, miss pretty is the strongest and she made all the bad men run away", Junior whined about to cry.
"There's only one way to confirm this rather peaceful", the older one said earning a look from the younger one who could guess what he was about to say.
" why don't we have a little duel".
