After finishing the necessary procedure, Thita was finally able to to enter the town as a resident.
Looking around, he started admiring the simplicity of the houses that were a few eras older than those he was used to.
He didn't care about such details though, since he knew that the town was a save place since it seemed to have stood here for quite a lot of time.
Minding his business, Thita walked through the streets trying to spot out anything interesting. Looking at house after house, he couldn't help but wonder about the place tin which he will be living, at least for temporary.
Money was also another issue since he obviously had none of this world currency, if it even had any. In other words, he needed a job desperately.
'So many houses and not even a store or at least a restaurant of some sort? Where even is the center of this town anyways? I am sure I can find a place to work to if I find it."
Lost in his own thoughts, he was suddenly brought back to reality by an unexpected voice.
"Um, excuse me sir?"
Turning around Thita noticed a petite figure of a woman. Seeing her, he spoke.
"Can I help you with anything?"
"Yes actually, are you new here?"
"Yeah, I just came here a few moments ago."
Hearing that the woman spoke with excitement.
"That's great! Are you perhaps here to become an adventurer?"
"Adventurer?"
Hearing his question the woman spoke again.
"That's right! Are you perhaps here for joining the adventures guild?"
Hearing that term Thita wondered.
"I am sorry but I am not familiar with this term since I am not from around here. Can you please explain to me what exactly is an adventures guild and an adventurer?"
Hearing the question the woman looked confused but then she spoke again while trying to hide her confusion of this guy's lack of knowledge.
"Sure! In simple terms, adventurers are people who are part of the adventures guild, they are the ones responsible of helping around the town and dealing with problems in and out of the town, while they also explore the surrounding wilderness. They also help with other activities around the town."
Hearing the explanation, Thita nodded but the woman wasn't done speaking.
"Oh yeah, they are also getting paid in quantities corresponding the diffuclt of the task they completed!"
"I understand. Where can I sign?"
Hearing such a straight forward answer, the woman was taken by surprise but was immediately filled with excitement.
"The adventures guild is located almost in the center of the town! Just keep walking this way and you will find it!"
"I see, thank you for informing me."
"Sure no problem at all. Just, if go and sign up, please write the name Emily in the spot for the one who recommended the guild to you."
Hearing that Thita nodded and took off.
'Well, that was quick. Just how much is she getting paid to recommended the guild to others?'
Ignoring the though, Thita continued walking towards the way she pointed trying to locate the building. It wasn't something he should worry about anyways.
***
After a while, Thita had arrived in the center of the town.
Looking at it he noticed that almost all the roads led to it and there was a vast amount of people here. Even though the town was small it seemed to be filled with activity for some reason.
Deciding to ignore the unexpected large amount of people, he made his way towards a large building with a sign saying in large letters "ADVENTURE GUILD".
Entering the building, he saw a large amount of people already inside.
The inside of the building was filled with wooden chairs and tables and there was also some kind of bar/restaurant inside too. Furthermore there was a large signboard filled with papers pinned to it.
Looking around he noticed an area that seemed to be a reception desk and he made his way towards it. Looking at it, he noticed a woman who after noticing him, she greeted him.
"Welcome to the adventurers guild, how may I help you today?"
Hearing her words he spoke.
"I am here to sign up as an adventurer."
"Happy to hear that, have you ever been Parr of any adventurers guild before or is this the first time?"
"No, this is my first time actually, so I don't really know much about the procedures and how it works."
After hearing it the woman nodded.
"No problem at all, that's what I am for. If you want to get signed you need to be tested in terms of magic and in term or raw strength. Of course if you have a gift of being able to use magic then the strength test can be skipped. Is all I said so far ok by you?"
Hearing her simple explanation, Thita nodded.
"I don't have a problem with that."
"Glad to hear that! Of corse you will also need to fill a small form to get accepted and have your town badge get updated but no need to worry, it's not something you haven't already shared when you entered the town."
"I see, I don't have a problem with that then. So, when will the test begin?"
"It can be done right now, just follow me please."
Thita nodded and waited for her to lead the way.
"Ah yeah, before that."
She suddenly turned around.
"Clara, can you please fill up for me! I have to perform a mana test for a new member!"
"Yes, of course! Don't worry about here and take you time!"
"Thank you~"
After waiting for her to finish, Thita began following her. After getting up a stair way and passing a small corridor, the woman the door and held it open for him to enter.
Entering the room, Thita noticed that it was mostly empty except for a small see-through crystal which stood in the middle of the room on top of a pillar.
"This is a mana crystal, usually dropped from monster but it is completely emptied of mana. All you need to do is touch it for 5 seconds and the crystal will absorb some of your mana. That way we will be able to tell your rank and type of magic. Also please don't touch it for more than 5 seconds, so that we won't get incorrect results."
Hearing her explanation, Thita decided to nod even though he has a lot of questions and walked towards the center of the room.
He then raised his hand and held it no more than 5 seconds.
The crystal as if reacting to his touch, started glowing. The glow wasn't that bright but it was at least something, proving that he was able to use magic.
That wasn't what surprised him though.
The crystal smeed to have turned... purple?
