The crystal from a pale see-through appearance seemed to have turned into a bit bright purple color.
Noticing the change, Thita couldn't help but wonder how magic worked.
He clearly felt something from inside him or outside him being sucked into the crystal but he couldn't understand or even comprehend what it was.
It was a strange feeling but it was welcomed by him. A bit of mystery was always something to be welcomed.
Looming at the crystal once again Tjita turned around and looked at the woman who was staring at the crystal with a bit of confusion.
"So what does purple mean?"
The woman stopped staring at the crystal and shifted her gaze towards Thita.
"I am truly sorry but this has never happened before. Usually the crystal turns into other more common colors with rare exceptions but we have never seen one turn purple."
Thita looked at her confused.
"Is this a bad thing?"
"I am sorry but I cannot tell without the knowledge. The best I can do is to contact an expert in the next couple days. For now, all I can do is to add you as a mage with the corresponding level of your magic power.
The crystal may have turned into an unexpected color but that doesn't mean that it didn't measure your mana level so I will just write this information to your badge. I am truly sorry for not being able to provide you with more information."
The woman said with an apologetic tone.
"I understand, no need to apologize. I can wait a couple of days for it, I just want to know if I can become an adventurer in the meantime."
"Of course! Since we have your level of magical power then you can become an adventurer! Pf course you will have access only to quests of your corresponding level unless you join a party!"
"I see."
'Or probably not'
"Ah yeah that's right! Sorry for not informing you sooner! You are a D rank mage!"
"D rank?"
"That's right! If you don't already know there is a system with which we grade our adventurers both in strength and magic. The ranks go in this order: E D C B A and S rank with the S rank being the highest and the E rank being the lowest!"
'I see, so I am in almost the lowest in terms of raw magical energy...'
"Also, no need to worry if your magic rank didn't achieve your expectations since it's not something that stays the same! Just like strengh, you can improve it!"
"I see. Thanks for the information."
'Finally some good news!'
"You are welcome! So would like to take the physical test then!"
"I am sorry but I will pass on that."
"Very well. In that case please follow me!"
Saying that Thita began to follow her taking one last glance in the crystal wandering what it was supposed to mean.
After leaving the room they walked a bit more in the hallway and entered another room, this one looking more like an office.
After entering it the adventurers wild staff lady walked towards a desk and picked up a paper.
She then placed it on top of the desk, pointed it to Thita and said.
"This is a contract that you need to fill and sign to officially enter the guild! Please read it carefully and answer at least the necessary questions!"
Taking a sit, Thita sighed and began reading and later filling the contract. The questions were simple such as name and age.
The contract on the hand, seemed to mostly be in order to warn the adventurers that any injury during quests wasn't the guilds fault and other stuff like that.
After answering the necessary questions and even adding the name of the one who recommended the guild to him he handed it to the woman.
After taking a short look at it the woman nodded and said.
"That will do! Welcome to the guild um... Thitaa!"
Extending her hand for a handshake, Thita raised his do and they performed a handshake.
"Thanks you for having me."
"Name is Cass! So can you please give me your badge for a bit?"
Thita nodded and gave her the badge.
"Please, wait here for a bit."
Saying that the woman left the office and returned after a whole, now holding a purple colored badge with the letter D on it. She then gave it to him.
"Here! You are now officially an adventurer! Congratulations!"
Hearing the praise Thita replied with a simple "thank you" and took his badge.
"You can now go and complete quests either alone or join a party and complete quests together! You can find the quests and information related to the quests on the signboard! If you have any other questions, fell free to ask me at the reception desk!"
Hearing her energetic explanations, Thita nodded.
"Thank you for the help. So, when can I begin?"
"Any time you want. Just go to the main lobby you saw when you entered, pick up a quest and talk to me to officially begin it!"
After finishing with the explanations, Thita and the staff both left the room and went in the main lobby. She returned to the reception desk and he decided to go and look in the signboard to understand what quests there were.
Looking at it for some time, he understood some important information.
There seemed to be different kind of quests.
Some were for inside the town and mostly seemed to be about helping with chores and other non combat activities. These were also accessible to all ranks and gave very few rewards.
On the other hand, there seemed to be others for outside the town. Some were the same as the inside ones that had to do with helping some farmers while others sommed to be more dangerous.
It seemed strange but there were quests about killing certain animals and 'monsters' in some areas outside the town and there was even a not that said that you can bring the bodies of those animals or the 'crystals they dropped' for extra cash.
Looking at some of the names of those monster and animals, Thita couldn't tell that he was not in earth since a lot of them didn't exist in his planet, especially the moster category.
While minding his business and looked at the quests, he felt as if someone had touched his shoulder.
Feeling that, he turned around to look who did that and he couldn't help but be surprised by seeing that person face.
It was...
