chapter48:Bom's Revenge

Bom sneered scornfully.

"Law? What can the law offer to me?

Can it restore my childhood?

Can it eradicate the hatred in my heart?"

Officer Boby stated,

"Hatred merely begets more hatred.

If you persist in this way, you'll only sink deeper."

But Bom grew increasingly agitated.

"Sink deeper? I'm already deeply ensnared in this dark abyss.

Those women, they all deserve to perish.

They utilized their beauty and hypocrisy to break up other people's families.

They thought they could evade punishment.

I'll make them realize that I'm their nightmare."

Officer Boby retorted,

"Not everyone is as you presume.

If you take revenge without differentiating right from wrong, you'll only harm more innocent individuals."

Bom seemed to hear an absurd jest.

"Innocent? There is no innocent person in this world.

Everyone dons a mask in this hypocritical world.

They all deserve retribution."

Officer Boby shook his head helplessly.

"You've fallen into your own delusion.

What you're doing will ultimately self-destruct."

But Bom didn't care.

"Self-destruct? I no longer care.

When I decided to initiate all this, I already surrendered my soul to the darkness.

I'll make this world pay for its injustice, even if it means sacrificing my life."

As he spoke, he watched the blood in the bucket accumulating steadily, with a sickening sense of gratification in his eyes.

"Behold, this is the price of those people.

Their blood is like their sins, flowing and never to be washed clean."

Officer Boby regarded Bom's crazy demeanor, filled with pity and helplessness.

"You could have had a different kind of life.

Let go of hatred and start anew."

But Bom said coldly,

"Start anew? That's only for fortunate ones like you.

Since the moment I was born, I've been forsaken by fate.

I can only walk to the end on this dark path."

After saying that, Bom ignored Officer Boby and continued to stare intently at the flowing blood, as if it was the sole proof of his confrontation with the world.

Bom's nerves hadn't had time to relax when he suddenly heard the voices of a man and a woman.

The voices were like a faint rustle in the darkness, instantly alerting him.

He frowned, full of doubts, and thought to himself,

"Why are there voices of a man and a woman in this basement?

Could there be someone else who discovered this place?"

Laden with questions, he locked the basement door and then cautiously explored in the direction where the voices originated.

He searched meticulously in the dark passage, leaving no corner unexamined, his eyes scanning the surroundings warily.

However, after the search, there remained a deathly silence all around, and no one was in sight.

He was like a trapped animal lost in a dark maze, his doubts unresolved.

Helplessly, he had to return to the basement to check on Officer Boby's body.

When his eyes fell on Officer Boby once more, this sight startled him greatly.

He saw Officer Boby's body being propelled by electric current and slowly ascending into the air.

The body seemed to be tugged by an invisible force, floating in mid-air.

This strange spectacle made Bom's eyes widen, filled with shock and fear.

His mouth gaped open, but he couldn't utter a word for a long while.

Just as Bom was still immersed in this incredible scene, something even more astonishing occurred.

He suddenly felt himself being yanked by a powerful force.

Then, he only experienced a spinning sensation, as if passing through a time-space vortex.

When he finally managed to regain his footing, he heard the footsteps of two people approaching the basement.

His heart skipped a beat, and an instinctive sense of alertness surged within him.

He quickly concealed himself in a hidden corner like a ghost in the dark, his eyes fixed on the direction from which the voices were coming, quietly trailing the whereabouts of these two individuals.

Actually, before being attacked by Bom, Officer Boby had a foreboding of danger.

He quietly activated the recording device he carried with him, intending to record Bom's misdeeds.

However, when Bom inspected his body, Bom keenly detected this recording device.

A flash of anger flitted across Bom's eyes.

He glared at Officer Boby ferociously and roared,

"You actually attempted to secretly record?

Do you think this can halt me?"

Officer Boby, although weak, still maintained a steadfast look in his eyes.

"I won't permit you to continue committing evil.

Your crimes must be exposed."

Bom sneered.

"Exposed? Do you think you still stand a chance?

Today is your demise."

Saying that, he lunged at Officer Boby.

Officer Boby struggled to prop up his body and tried to evade Bom's attack.

"You crazy man, you won't succeed."

The two immediately engaged in a fierce battle.

Bom's attacks were as fierce as a tempest, and Officer Boby could only struggle to defend himself.

During the scuffle, they accidentally touched upon some electrical devices in the basement, instantly triggering a powerful electric current.

The electric current was like a surging tide, instantly engulfing them.

Along with a blinding light and crackling electric current sounds, they were transported to the time and space 15 years later by the electric quantum wave.

After arriving in the basement tunnel 15 years later, Bom still didn't release his hold on Officer Boby.

He continued to assail Officer Boby.

Officer Boby was already severely injured and gradually couldn't withstand Bom's onslaught.

But Officer Boby didn't yield.

He summoned all his strength to make a sound.

The sound was feeble, but it was extremely conspicuous in the silent basement tunnel.

This sound caught the attention of Amy and Jack who were exploring nearby.

Amy whispered to Jack,

"Listen, there seems to be a sound."

Jack tightly clutched the weapon in his hand warily.

"Let's go and investigate."

So, they advanced cautiously in the direction where the sound was emanating.

As they delved deeper, they seemed to gradually uncover the bottom floor of the basement, and that was the core of Bom's secret base.

Bom thought to himself in surprise,

"I mustn't let outsiders discover this place, otherwise that person will surely not spare me."

He rolled his eyes and devised a plan.

Bom stood in the shadow of the basement, with crazy and crafty lights flickering in his eyes.

First, he took a deep breath, and then emitted a low and strange sound from his throat.

The sound gradually transformed into the barking of a dog.

The barking of the dog suddenly resounded in the basement that was as quiet as a deathly cemetery, sending shivers down one's spine.

The sound reverberated among the surrounding walls.

Each echo was like a howl of a specter.

The sounds overlapped, as if there were countless ghosts baring their fangs and claws in the dark, inducing hair-raising fear.

Amy and Jack were carefully exploring the basement.

Suddenly hearing the barking of the dog, Amy's body went rigid.

She stared at Jack in horror and said with a tremulous voice,

"Jack, what... what is this sound?

Why is there a dog barking?
