Now that he knew what he was looking at, he could sense the magical power wafting off of her. It was very different from his own. It felt more... restricted. As if it was designed to do a very limited number of things.
Which honestly made sense, she was a Fallen Angel and their magic was almost exclusively limited to using Holy Light Magic. They could do other, smaller, things, but Light was their main weapon, even after their fall.
All of this went through his mind in a moment before he gave his answer, "I'd love to. How about we meet up on Saturday?"
Yuuma straightened up and gave him a bright smile, "That would be wonderful!"
They quickly exchanged contact information and she left, looking flushed and excited. Ryuji had to give her this much, she was one hell of an actress.
He turned away from her and continued on his way home. He was even more annoyed with the day now.
As for the date with the fallen angel, he had only accepted it to keep from having to fight her right then and there. The last thing he wanted was to be out in public throwing down with her in a magical battle.
He seriously didn't want to out himself in such a dumb way. No. Now he had bought himself some time. It was only Monday which gave him four full days to come up with a plan to take the fallen angel down without alerting the devils.
Actually, he should probably think of a plan to take down her, the other three with her, and all the excommunicated exorcists all at once.
Wasn't one of those exorcists a complete psychopath? He honestly couldn't remember much about the early-season losers that only existed to make the protagonist grow a bit before the real threats showed up.
Which... he honestly had no idea about. The last thing he'd seen was Issei using his Balance Breaker to knock the shit out of the Phoenix guy and NTR him by stealing Rias.
Ryuji still had no idea how Issei using cheap tactics to punch the guy a few times meant that the marriage contract was suddenly null and void. But, whatever, that wasn't going to happen this time around. No matter what kind of bull Sirzechs had spewed.
Leader of the devils or not, how was he allowed to get away with the sheer bullshit he'd pulled on Riser?
Actually, he didn't know what was going to happen at all, what with Issei being dead and all.
He was still contemplating what he should do to deal with the fallen problem when he arrived home and stepped into his Home Base. It was time to do some work.
He spent a relatively small amount of Dungeon Energy to buy an expansion to his base and designated the new room as a ritual room.
Stepping into the room he retrieved some chalk and the book on necromancy from his inventory. He copied the necessary ritual circle for the 'kindest' and most 'gentle' way to summon a soul from the beyond.
To summon a specific soul he needed something linked to the person, since he had nothing like that he could use something more general. This would summon a soul interested in whatever he placed in the center of the summoning circle.
In this case, he pulled a cheap katana out of his inventory and placed it in the center of the circle. It was a cheap ass reproduction that cost hardly anything. It was honestly an insult to katanas to call the piece of stamped steel a katana.
Regardless of that, it would work for his need to summon the soul of a blacksmith. Who knows, maybe someone famous would find the sword an insult and come to yell out him giving him a chance to negotiate with it.
Either way, if he wasn't interested in keeping the soul around he could end the ritual and try again. There had to be many thousands of blacksmiths, bladesmiths, and armorers who had died over the last few millennia.
Any one of them would likely serve his purposes since he didn't need someone making legendary tier equipment just yet.
With everything set, he knelt down and placed his hands on the outermost ring of the summoning circle and began to channel his magical power into it.
Lucky for him, when it came to channeling magic he could do so for far longer than he could stay conscious. Not that he would need that much power for this.
As the circle began to glow a baleful green, he began chanting a rather embarrassing poem to summon a spirit.
" By shadows deep and moonlight's gleam, Beyond the veil where spirits dream, Hear my call, O ghostly kin, Cross the breach and now begin.
From realms unseen, I summon thee, Spirit lost, I set you free, With words of power, I bind this rite, Appear before me on this night.
In darkness bound, by ancient lore, Walk the earth, forevermore, By blood and bone, by dusk and dawn, Through this chant, let you be drawn.
Rise, O spirit, heed my plea, As I will, so mote it be."
The circle started glowing brighter as more magic was required to power it. In the center of the circle, just above the sword, a white glow slowly formed as if white vapors were swirling into a vortex.
It quickly coalesced into something Ryuji was intimately familiar with, a glowing white soul. It bobbed in place for a moment, as if it was observing its surroundings before an aged male voice issued from it, "Well, this is different."
Ryuji wasn't sure how, but he could tell the soul was now looking at him, "Who're you, kid?"
Ryuji, grinning from ear to ear, answered, "I am Okane Ryuji, the one who summoned you. I'm looking to recruit a blacksmith, bladesmith, or armorer to my cause."
