Chapter 70

Brielle's POV

Blake sent me to his room. I was about to go there, but then curiosity got the best of me and I found myself turning back. I saw that both of them were headed back to the garden. I planned to follow them, but I had to lie a little low. I didn't want them to spot me. I somewhat had a bad feeling about this. I don't know what Rea wants to talk about, but I just know that nothing good comes from her. I just hope everything goes well.

Once, I was sure that both of them wouldn't hear me. I was surprised to see Rea on the ground crying. Why the heck was she crying? It was my first time seeing her like that. I saw Blake try to calm her down. I just watched without intervening. After some time, Blake moved away from her and told her something I couldn't hear. Damn, I wish I was a person at that moment. I would be able to hear what they were talking about with super hearing.

Rea said something that stopped Blake in his tracks. He turned back to her and the look on his face told me that shit was about to go down. It didn't take a lot to know that Rea fucked up. I wondered if things would go back. Did I need to call for help? I didn't know what to do as I couldn't move. Blake advanced to Rea and I could feel his whole presence shake with Rage.

I gulped and just stood by waiting for something to happen. I don't know what Rea said to Blake, but it's bad. Is it that bad for Blake to hurt her? At that point, I didn't know what was going on but the

In a flash, Blake lunged at Rea's neck and started choking her. I couldn't stay put anymore. I started running to them. Whatever is going on between them, I can't let Blake let his emotions get the better of him in this way.

" Blake! What are you doing? Let go of her!"

My voice fell to deaf ears. Rea wasn't even struggling. She just let him choked her. What or this madness? What had gotten into Blake. She'll die. Without thinking, I grabbed Blake's arm, trying to get him to let go of her, but he wouldn't even budge. Damn it. Veins appeared on his face. He was so angry and out of it. His grip tightened. I got behind him and put my arms around him tightly so he couldn't throw me off.

Please! Blake, you will kill her. Please let her go. You are scaring me," I pleaded helplessly. For a second, I thought I had managed to calm him down, but boy was I wrong. He tried to shake me off and never let go of Rea. It was difficult for me to hold on. It was not Blake anymore but his wolf. The color of his eyes had turned golden and his canines were showing. Rea was just about at death's door.

I cried out, " Somebody help me! Help ME! Please help!"

I was hoping someone, anyone would come and stop this madness.

" I will kill you!" Blake growled at Rea. I was scared that Rea had already died because she was unresponsive. I know that anger overtook Blake and that is why he is like this, but if Rea dies, there is no turning back. I knew Rea coming here was a bad idea. She walked to her death.

I heard someone running from behind. I turned to see who it was, and they just leaped over me and tackled Blake to the ground. With a loud thud, they both tumbled to the ground. Rea fell as well. I ran to her and held her in my arms.

Her face was ghostly pale.

" Rea, wake up," I said and tapped her face. She was unconscious. I placed a finger below her nose to check her breathing. It was very faint, and her pulse was weak. I looked over to Blake and his father was the one who came to the rescue and held him down.

" Calm down dammit!" he growled and immediately Blake went quiet like a little boy. He was calming down. Thank God he got here just in time or things would have been bad. I sighed in relief and exhaustion. I almost got a heart attack. Rea is in bad shape, but she'll live.. for now. I looked around to see that we had gathered some attention. People were watching us. Where were all these people when I screamed for help? Now they are here to gossip.

" Marco, get Blake away from here. Right now!" Blake's father ordered, and some guy ran over and helped Blake to get up. He looked weak and had no fight in him left. Getting so worked up must have taken a toll on him. Another guy came to me and carried Rea away. I was still sitting on the ground when Blake's father walked over to me and extended his hand. I looked up at him in surprise. I rarely get to see him, and it still freaks me out that they look so much alike.

I took his hand as he helped me get up.

" Are you alright dear? I hope you are not hurt," he asked, his eyes inspecting me.

" Thank you, father," I found myself saying. " I am fine. I am not hurt."

" I am sorry you had to see that. I don't know what was going on, but Blake shouldn't have acted like that. It was irresponsible. He could have hurt you."

He was right about that. Had he not come, I would have gotten hurt or died trying to stop Blake from killing Rea. This is one of those times I find myself missing my magic. With my magic, I could have easily subdued him and handled the situation. I can't help but hate how weak I am right now.

" It's alright. You got here just in time to stop the worst from happening. Thanks to you, I am fine and so is everyone else."

He gave me a gentle loving smile and pat my head.

" I am glad you are fine. You must get tired. Go inside and get some rest."

He is such a nice man. Same as Blake. I look at him the same I would look at my own father. Speaking of him, my father. I don't even remember the last time I saw him smile at me like that. I shook my head because of those thoughts. I was beat. I just wanted to sleep and forget what just happened, happened. So much for getting some air, everything just went sideways. All thanks to Rea. She sure knows how to cause trouble.
