Chapter 103

Blake's POV

I don't know what is happening, but something isn't right. No matter what we did, these wolves just kept coming without an end. And still, Julian was a no show. I have to end this quickly and make sure that everything is fine. We were fighting these rogues, but they are sure fighting back, and we have lost a lot of warriors. My body is full of wounds that are not healing fast enough. The only thing in my mind is fighting to survive and get back to Brielle.

I kept checking on Kyle just to make sure he didn't die. I made a promise to myself that I would protect him. He has a family waiting for him. I am sure it is what is fueling him to survive. We have to survive at all costs. It can't end up like the last time or this life would have been an epic waste of time. So far we have managed to keep them at bay, but they have been pushing back, and I am afraid they will break through, and we won't be able to keep up with all of them.

I got distracted for a second and left an opening for a second. One wolf lunged for my throat, but I immediately recovered and evaded an attack. And then I kicked him with great force to the ground. While doing that, I failed to notice an incoming attack behind me, but luckily, Kyle lunged at the wolf, tackling it to the ground. That was a close call. It was like nothing was going to end. These wolves kept coming, and we were beginning to lose manpower.

All of a sudden, a blast was heard from inside the house. Everything stopped. I looked in the direction of the house, expecting the worst. My heart started pounding as I waited for the pain to come through. It would definitely happen if any happened to happen to Brielle. My head was buzzing, and I felt my heart drop. The excruciating pain that I was waiting for never came. That gave me a shred of hope.

She was still alive. But judging by the blast, she must have been wounded. What about my mom, dad, Morgan and Romi? My fear increased. I lost all sense of my surroundings. I looked over to Kyle, who looked just as distraught as I was.

On cue, both of us ran towards the house but stopped in our track when another blast came through, and it sent us stumbling back. What the hell is going on?

Someone came flying out of the house and crashed on the ground like a meteor. When the dust settled, I saw a man's figure lying there. By his scent, he was not one of our own. I walked over to him and saw that he was Julian. The man that I have been looking for. He was groaning and struggling to get up from the ground. I was confused as to how he got through us and was in the house? Who in the house gave him such a powerful blow?

My questions were soon to be answered, as Brielle, Morgan and my mother came out of the house unscathed. That was strange, but more than the oddity, I was relieved that whatever that happened there didn't affect them.

Kyle ran over to his mate and child embraced them in his arms. I was about to walk to my mother and Brielle, but someone grabbed my leg, stopping me. I looked back at Julian. He was pretty banged up.

" S-Stop her!" he coughed out.

I tried to shake his grip off my leg. He was injured, but his grip was strong.

" Let go of me."

Before I realized it, his grip was gone and Julian was up in the air, choking.

I looked back at Brielle, and she was holding her hand up as if she was magically holding Julian up in the air. Wait a minute. Hold up. She is holding him up in the air.

Something was different and she looked really pissed off. But how is she doing that? It can't be. Brielle is human, so how the hell is she using magic? I had so many questions on my mind, but there was no time for any of them. What was happening here was real and everyone could see it. My eyes were not playing tricks on me.

I got in defensive mode as the other wolves tried to come for Brielle as she was holding their leader in a chokehold, but she beat me to it as those wolves went up in the air as well. I looked back at Brielle and saw that she was holding up her hands in the air. I could see that she was starting to struggle with the pressure.

Everything happening just brought back the past. Back when she was a witch. She had power and she was strong. Despite all that, we still failed. To be honest, I was happy that she was human. I wanted her to stay out of everything, so if anything happens, at least she gets to live. Even if it was hard to move on.

All of a sudden, everyone dropped, as well as Brielle. She was on her knees, breathing heavily. She was worn out. I ran over to her as she was about to collapse.

I held her in my arms. I don't know what is going on at the moment, but I was beyond relieved that she was alright and that she defended herself as well as everyone from Julian. She is still a fighter.

Brielle tried to speak, but I shook my head at her.

" It's alright. Don't speak. Just rest a little. You did well."

It shouldn't have come to this. This wasn't supposed to happen in the first place. For how long must we be haunted by the past? This needs to end. Once and for all. It ends right here. This time, we will not lose.
