Chapter 110

Brielle's POV

I woke up alone in the morning. Blake was nowhere to be found. His side of the bed was cold, so he must have been up for a while. He must be out there somewhere. So much has happened and outside there is a mess from all the fighting. He might be out there fighting. I should get out there and try to lend a helping hand. But first, I need to do something. I took a shower and got ready for the day.

I needed a test and I had only one hope at the moment that someone had it. I went to Morgan's room to ask her if she had a pregnancy test with her. I walked up to her room and knocked on her door.

I heard," Coming!" from her inside. She shortly opened the door.

She stood in front of me in a robe with slightly disheveled hair. And she was holding the door so it didn't open all the way. I could guess what was going on.

" Oh, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I could come a bit late..."

" No. No. You are not interrupting anything. I was on my way to take a shower," she says, clearing her throat.

" Anyway, can I help you with something?"

" Yeah. Actually, I need something from you," I said kind of hesitantly.

" Well, anything. Just tell me. I'll do anything you need."

Not sure if Kyle was in the room or not, so just to be safe, I whispered to her.

" I need a pregnancy test, if you have one."

Her eyes widened and her mouth fell! She couldn't speak for a few seconds.

" Are you.. "

" I just need to make sure before anyone finds out, so please keep this between us."

" Ah, yes. Sure. My lips are sealed," she says, assuring me.

" Let me check real quick if I have what you need."

Morgan went back inside and I waited outside. I then saw Miranda coming out of her room. She was so tired, she didn't even see me. I was about to approach her, but the door opened and Morgan appeared again.

" I found one!" she whisper yelled, and took a rectangular box out of her pocket.

I smiled at her and took the box from her.

" Thanks a lot. I'll replace it when I get a chance."

When I turned my head to look at Miranda, she wasn't there anymore. I sighed. I should check on her. I feel very bad about what happened to her husband. But I should probably go put the box away before I get caught with it. I went back to the room and went to hide in the cabinet in the bathroom.

I went back out to go to Miranda's room. I knocked on the door, but there was no response. Worried, I opened the door to check on them and I spotted Blake on the couch, sleeping. His father was still asleep in bed. Miranda was nowhere in sight. I went inside and put a blanket on Blake. Looks like he went for a run. He must be exhausted from everything.

I was about to head back and make myself useful somewhere else, but I was stopped by his father groaning and moaning in his sleep. I approached the bed and just looked at him, not knowing what to do. He must be in so much pain. I wish I could take it all away from him. Actually, I could. If I could access my powers, I could try to heal him faster. I took out my hand and stared at it, wondering if I would be able to do it.

I decided to put it to the test. I placed my hand on his forehead waiting for something to happen. It took a while but finally, a glow came from my hand, and I was healing him. I concentrated hard on trying to make sure that the healing process is successful. I was purifying him. After a few minutes, exhaustion and the strain set in, so I had to stop. Hopefully, I managed to heal him as much as needed.

Feeling weak, I sat down on the chair. I took a little breather. I must be really pregnant. I can't handle using my power for a long time. Hopefully, I won't need to use much of it while I am in this state.

I touched his forehead and he felt a bit hot. I went to the bathroom to get water and a rag. I had to try to bring down his fever. After half an hour, he was starting to get better. This is the least I could do. I will be happy when he gets back on his feet.

I turned to look at Blake sleeping like a baby. Everything must be as exhausting at this point. I should let him get more rest. In the meantime, to make up for all the mess, I should go and get started on breakfast. In fact, it should be a feast. Last night's feast was interrupted so it would be a good idea. I should get Morgan and the other ladies to help while the men work on rebuilding whatever was destroyed in the fight. That sounds like a plan.
