The patrol leader walked ahead, while Asa followed leisurely behind, taking in the sights of Angel Island with mild interest.
"What's your name?" he asked casually.
"Ah?" Hearing Asa's question, the man suddenly perked up and quickly responded, "My name is Constance, Captain of the Sky Island God's Guard..."
Constance was eager to please and revealed everything about himself without hesitation.
"You're quite a sensible man. I like that," Asa said with satisfaction, giving him a firm pat on the shoulder—almost knocking him over. "Follow me, and you'll enjoy life. Once I leave Sky Island, the whole place will be yours!"
Constance could only force a bitter smile. He was already forty years old, yet here he was, being called a "boy" by someone who didn't even look eighteen.
If he knew Asa was actually only fourteen, his jaw would have dropped.
Of course, he dared not comment on it and simply ignored the last part of Asa's statement.
The two quickened their pace, walking non-stop toward the Island of Gods, Upper Yard, under the curious gazes of the people of Angel Island.
"Sir, the god of Upper Yard… Gan Fall, and his God's Guard are very powerful. I suggest you prepare…" Constance hesitated, trying to warn Asa.
Even after witnessing Asa's terrifying lightning powers, he was still in shock. In his heart, he had already accepted that this man could replace Gan Fall and become the new god of Sky Island.
Seeing Constance's cautious expression, Asa found it amusing. "Don't concern yourself with what I'm about to do. I have my own plans."
Upper Yard was filled with gold, tightly controlled by Gan Fall. Naturally, Asa's goal was simple—kill him and seize all the gold to build Thor.
"Yes!" Constance nodded and bowed, no longer daring to ask questions.
The two of them walked for over two hours. By the time they neared their destination, Asa's patience had run thin. He was tempted to grab Constance and fly there himself.
Even though Constance held the rank of captain in the God's Guard, his actual strength was mediocre at best. If he attempted to fly at high speeds, he would likely crash and die. With no other choice, Asa restrained his impatience and continued walking.
"We're here, sir. Upper Yard is just ahead!" Constance gasped for breath, pointing toward the vast land before them. A flicker of awe flashed in his eyes.
Land was the rarest resource on Sky Island. Every Sky Islander dreamed of one day living in a place where only "gods" were permitted.
Upper Yard, once part of Jaya Island, had been hurled into the sky centuries ago by a powerful Knock Up Stream.
When it first arrived, it shocked the native Sky Islanders and sparked a centuries-long war between them and the people of Jaya, all for the right to inhabit the land.
Despite the passage of time, the island remained unchanged. Towering trees grew from golden soil, forming a lush, ancient forest.
Even Asa felt a slight thrill. It had been more than a year since he left the Blue Sea—more than a year since his feet last touched real earth.
"Sir, it's incredible! This is the very dirt and stone that drives people mad!" Constance marveled, his admiration genuine. Seeing Asa's intrigued expression, he suddenly remembered—this man had never seen real soil before.
Asa almost scoffed aloud.
Did Constance really believe he was so fascinated by dirt? If only he knew that in the Blue Sea, soil was as common as air and seawater.
But in a way, it made sense. The easier something was to obtain, the less people valued it.
Since there was no soil on Sky Island, they treated it as priceless treasure.
Unwanted Guests
Before Asa and Constance could even step foot onto Upper Yard, they were spotted by a group of armored guards.
"How dare you approach the Island of Gods? Are you tired of living?!"
These God's Guards looked just like the ones Asa had encountered on Angel Island—fierce, aggressive, and quick to act.
"Wait… Captain Constance? Who is this with you?" One of the leaders seemed to recognize him.
"Captain Kil'jaeden, this gentleman wishes to see Lord God. I brought him here to report his arrival," Constance replied hesitantly, carefully omitting any mention of Asa's massacre.
"See Lord God?" Kil'jaeden eyed Asa up and down. The moment he noticed Asa's lack of wings, his expression darkened.
"You dare, Blue Sea dweller?! How insolent! You think you can demand an audience with God?! Restrain him imm—"
BOOM!
Before he could finish his sentence, a bolt of lightning crashed down from the sky, striking him dead in an instant. His entire body was charred black as he crumpled to the ground.
Dead. Completely lifeless.
"Too much talking," Asa muttered, flicking his ear as if swatting away an annoyance. "Humans only recognize power when they experience fear. Unfortunately, by then… it's already too late."
The remaining God's Guard soldiers took an instinctive step back, eyes darting between one another, struggling to process what had just happened.
Only Constance trembled in terror. He had once again witnessed the very nightmare he had hoped to forget—thunder.
The frogs in the well would never understand why this man had the power of the gods themselves.
"He… he killed the captain! Avenge him!" one soldier screamed.
Asa barely glanced at him.
With a casual flick of his finger, a Raijin Spear formed at his fingertips and shot forward at blinding speed.
The screaming soldier was instantly impaled. His body was hurled backward as if struck by a cannonball, skewering another unfortunate soldier in the process. The lightning spear remained intact, embedding itself into several others, pinning them together like a grotesque skewer.
The remaining soldiers stared in shock, paralyzed by fear.
"If you don't want to die, get lost," Asa said coldly.
Without waiting for an answer, he stepped onto the island, walking along the special cloud road made from island clouds leading into Upper Yard.
The surviving guards stumbled backward in terror. Fear, panic, and hesitation flickered in their eyes.
Constance hesitated for only a moment before making his decision. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to follow Asa. God only knew how much courage it took for him to take that step.
"Don't let that vile Blue Sea man defile the Island of Gods! Kill him!!" One particularly devoted soldier cried out, his voice filled with righteous fury.
Asa sighed, shaking his head in amusement.
Sky Island's soldiers were equipped with unique military gear—exhaust-shell boots that propelled them forward at incredible speeds, combined with long spears capable of launching shockwave attacks. Before consuming the Thunder Fruit, Asa would have found them a real threat.
But now?
Crackling bolts of electricity erupted out of thin air, wiping them all out in an instant.
Asa exhaled, watching the last of them fall.
"The sea is vast and full of wonders," he mused. "But in the end, power remains the only thing that truly matters."
