In the middle of Upper Yard, a magnificent temple made entirely of gold stood proudly.
Climbing the long golden steps, one could see eight solid gold pillars standing in the vast temple. Everything inside was crafted from gold, and the floor was covered with luxurious animal-skin blankets.
Despite the overwhelming golden glow, the temple did not appear ostentatious but exuded a solemn and dignified atmosphere.
At this moment…
"What did you say? Another group of God's Guards has lost contact?" Gan Fall's expression turned grave. "Could it be the Shandians attacking? Why haven't I received any reports?"
"Great Lord God, these brave warriors have been confirmed dead. After an investigation, my subordinates discovered that a Blue Sea dweller has kidnapped Captain Constance and is heading toward the Island of Gods. Please grant me permission to capture him!"
Gan Fall clenched his fists, struggling to contain his fury.
"A Blue Sea dweller? Damn it..." He felt his divine authority being challenged like never before.
"Lord God! The guards… the guards have been punished by God!" A panicked soldier burst through the temple doors, breathless and trembling as if he had witnessed something beyond comprehension.
BOOM!!
The sky roared with deafening thunder as lightning pillars rained down relentlessly, striking the God's Guard members one by one.
The intense tremors shook even the rock-solid temple. The wine in Gan Fall's hand spilled onto the floor as the golden throne wobbled under the force.
Then, everything fell silent.
Suddenly…
"Zzzzzzzzzzt!"
A shrill, crackling sound filled the air. From the heavens, a dazzling blue flash surged into the temple, its trajectory locked onto the God of Sky Island—Gan Fall!
"Be careful!!" Malkin, kneeling on one knee, roared as he instinctively threw himself forward, attempting to block the Thunder God's spear with his own body.
Gasps filled the temple as the armed guards watched in horror. Gan Fall's expression shifted drastically, his anger surging.
But he was no ordinary ruler. If he lacked power, he would have been overthrown long ago.
At the last second, his silver-white armor gleamed as he propelled himself off the throne with a burst of speed, narrowly dodging the Thunder God's spear. The deadly projectile struck the golden throne behind him, melting a gaping hole into its surface.
Fear rippled through the temple.
Gan Fall, catching his breath, raised his gaze toward the temple entrance. His heart pounded as he muttered, "Lightning… Is this divine retribution? Or is there someone capable of wielding the power of thunder itself?"
The temple doors swung open. The outside was eerily empty—aside from the fallen guards, there was no one in sight.
"What is happening?" Gan Fall growled, an ominous premonition creeping into his mind.
SWOOSH!!
A figure materialized inside the temple, surrounded by crackling blue electricity. The guards flinched, instinctively tightening their grips on their weapons. Bit by bit, Asa's form assembled from scattered electrons.
"You actually dodged my Thunder God's Spear? Not bad," Asa remarked, tilting his head.
Although his attack had not reached its full power, dodging it without prior warning was no easy feat. This proved that Gan Fall was skilled—but that was all.
"Who are you?" Gan Fall demanded, his voice deep with caution. He didn't dare make a move.
"The one who will take your life," Asa said coldly.
Without another word, he raised his hand and unleashed another bolt of lightning.
If he didn't eliminate Gan Fall, how could he expect the people of Sky Island to submit and build Ark Maxim for him? Asa didn't believe in wasting words.
Others might kill ordinary people to instill fear—killing chickens to scare the monkeys. But Asa? He slaughtered monkeys to terrify the chickens.
The temple trembled once more as a massive thunderbolt, ten times larger than the previous one, erupted from his hand, locking onto Gan Fall.
Gan Fall's pupils shrank to pinpoints. The overwhelming force made escape feel impossible, as if no matter where he ran, the thunder would pursue him to the ends of the earth.
"Is resisting thunder even possible? Could this be the power of a true god?" The thought flashed through his mind just before he was engulfed in blinding white light.
"Aaaaaagh!!"
Gan Fall was strong—strong enough to endure several seconds under the might of Asa's Thunder Fruit. His screams of agony echoed through the temple like a slaughtered beast.
"Lord God!!"
"Lord Gan Fall!!"
Malkin and the guards turned red-eyed with grief, but none dared to interfere. They could only glare at Asa with pure hatred.
As the lightning dispersed, Gan Fall's charred body lay on the floor. Miraculously, he was still breathing.
"Still alive?" Asa muttered in surprise. His electricity wasn't ordinary—it was high-voltage, and yet Gan Fall had resisted it.
"I got too arrogant after obtaining the Thunder Fruit…" Asa reflected, lowering his head in contemplation.
But after a brief silence, his lips curled into a grin.
"Hahahahaha! So what if there are many strong people? That only makes things more exciting! One day, I will stand at the very top!!"
Asa cast aside all doubts. Lightning gathered in his hands once more.
The temple guards flinched in terror.
"What immense power… This is beyond human capability!"
"Is this man the true god, sent to judge Lord Gan Fall?"
Among the ranks of the God's Guard, faith wavered. They stared at their fallen ruler, their previous reverence for him fading.
In a world where strength reigned supreme, the rules were simple: The strong ruled as gods.
"Cough!"
Gan Fall stirred, his consciousness slipping in and out.
"Lord Gan Fall!!" Malkin rushed forward, helping him up.
With great difficulty, the former god rasped, "My Sky Island… has never wronged the Blue Sea. So tell me… cough… why have you come here, killing my people?"
"No, you're mistaken," Asa corrected. "No one wronged anyone. Strength is everything. I am here to conquer Sky Island!"
His gaze swept over the assembled guards, his voice carrying a chilling authority.
"Those who wish to live—swear allegiance to me. My patience is limited. From this moment onward, I am the new god of Sky Island—the God of Thunder!"
Gan Fall's blurry eyes darkened in resignation. "Captain Malkin… everyone… I, Gan Fall, relinquish my rule to Thor today. From now on, you shall serve him…"
The moment his words fell, his body went limp, his final breath slipping away.
The God's Guards exchanged uncertain glances, unable to make a decision.
Malkin, ever-loyal to Gan Fall, clenched his fists before finally lowering himself onto one knee.
The rest of the guards followed suit.
"We pledge our loyalty to the great Lord Thunder God!"
Their firm voices echoed through the golden temple.
At that moment, Constance arrived at the temple doors—only to witness a scene he would never forget.
"Hahahahahaha!!!"
Asa's triumphant laughter thundered across the Upper Yard, proclaiming to all of Sky Island:
The God of Thunder had arrived.
