Chapter 106: Impeccable!

"You, an old man and a relic of a bygone era, should make way for the next generation!"

"I can still fight for another thirty years, you damn brat! Just come with me to Impel Down already!"

BOOM!!!

Shockwaves rippled outward from the two combatants. The entire first stomach sac of the lantern fish began to quake. Gravel islands shattered as if torn apart by a hurricane—pure chaos.

Asa stood tall in his prison uniform, veins bulging across his forehead, while Garp, red-faced and roaring, squared off against him.

For a moment, they were deadlocked—neither able to overpower the other.

"Boy Asa... what is that shield ability of yours?" Garp asked, panting as they grappled. He stared at Asa intently.

It completely neutralized all of his power-packed punches, like a coat that couldn't be touched or seen.

It reminded him of the late Army General Vazquez Andri's Barrier Fruit—but this was even trickier to deal with.

Never had Garp imagined the Thunder Fruit could evolve into something so unreasonably defensive. With this level of protection, no one could touch Asa until he completely ran out of stamina.

"Why would I explain my powers to you, old man?" Asa snapped back. He was sweating profusely now—his physical exertion clearly surpassing Garp's.

They'd been locked in a standoff for too long. Asa knew he couldn't afford to keep wasting energy. His isolation field continued to block all damage, but it drained his stamina at several times the normal rate. Even with rapid recovery, it wasn't sustainable.

Suddenly, blue lightning surged around his legs—and Asa struck.

Zzzzt!!

BANG!!

His kick, enhanced by speed and power, struck Garp square in the stomach before he could react.

CRASH!!

Garp's body slammed into rubble and skidded across it for hundreds of meters. The impact shattered stone islands, sending them sinking into the acidic gastric sea below.

Whoosh!!

Asa launched himself skyward, lightning sparking around him, looking down with wild joy at Garp crawling out from the rocks.

"Hahahahaha! Garp—you can't break through my defense unless I'm completely spent!"

Strictly speaking, Asa's raw strength was still below Garp's. But thanks to his invincible defensive technique, he could withstand the most monstrous of attacks and retaliate with punishing strikes.

The force he generated himself wasn't affected by his isolation stance. Unless someone had a fruit ability that defied logic, Asa's survivability might just be the best in the world.

There were a few Devil Fruits that could theoretically bypass his defense—like the Scissor-Scissor Fruit of Lightning from the future Revolutionary Army, or the Surgery Fruit.

But none of those users could get close to him without being noticed. So the fear? Gone.

When it came to life-saving Devil Fruits, space-type abilities like the Door-Door Fruit or the Mirror-Mirror Fruit were top-tier. But in terms of direct combat?

The Thunder Fruit reigned supreme.

The defense provided by his electromagnetic isolation field rivaled the Barrier Fruit, his instant burst speed was unmatched, and his overall strength was at least at general level—only one step away from the top.

Asa was nearly untouchable at sea. So what if someone was stronger than him?

Could they kill him?

As long as his electrode-enhanced physiology remained stable, his body would only grow stronger. And with that, stamina would follow.

Flawless. Impeccable.

Once he conquered the remaining section of the first half of the Grand Line and acquired what he sought, Asa would charge into the New World without hesitation.

He couldn't wait to dive into the most chaotic era of piracy—carve out his own territory, and then...

Rampage through the seas. Stirring up every major event that followed!

"Hahahahaha! Old man Garp...!"

Blue-white lightning danced in the air, surrounding Asa as he floated in the heart of the storm, laughing like thunder itself.

"Your era is OVER!!"

The electric field grew more unstable. Blinding arcs of light shimmered in the air, and a radiant blue orb began to form above.

BOOM!!

Perhaps disturbed by the intense electromagnetic surge, the lantern fish began to thrash in the deep sea, agitated beyond reason—even ignoring the threat of other Sea Kings nearby.

The world inside its belly spun wildly.

Acid surged and flooded every corner. The three warships in the distance were caught first, their sailors flung into the acidic sea—melted before they could scream.

The native creatures inside the stomach seemed almost used to such chaos. They'd braced themselves in time—and survived.

"If you leave me no choice… then you'll die here, Garp!!" Asa's voice roared like thunder itself.

Bolts of lightning spiraled toward him, encasing him completely as he re-entered his Raijin form.

Asa was going all in—to end it now.

A terrifying aura exploded from him. The intense light made it nearly impossible to keep one's eyes open.

"Two hundred million volts: BRONTOSAURUS!!!"

As he roared, the power surged again. Bolts across the sky shrank, condensed, and spiraled before him.

SKRRAAA--!

A monstrous roar pierced the air. A blue-white brontosaurus—dozens of meters thick, composed purely of lightning—took form in front of him.

It looked as though it emerged from another dimension. From the fearsome dragon head and jagged horns to its scales, claws, and tail—it was perfectly rendered.

This was Asa's advanced form: his enhanced 100 million volts, pushed further with current intensification—transformed into the 200 million volt Brontosaurus.

Its power? Over ten times more lethal than before.

"Go."

Asa's eyes locked onto Garp. With a flick of his hand, the thunder dragon lunged forward.

Zzzzzttttttt!!

The Brontosaurus surged through the air, disappearing from Asa's position in an instant.

The next moment, it materialized directly in front of Garp—towering and terrifying.

SKRRAAA--!!

The thunderous roar came from deep within, as the concentrated current and lightning-charged jaws clamped down.

"Hahahahaha!! You think you can beat me with that?! Brat—you're 10,000 years too early!!"

Garp stood tall. Calm. Grinning.

He clenched his fist—and his Armament Haki flared to life.
