Chapter 107: Violent!

Armament Haki truly was a miracle technique—like an invisible armor that could coat the body in a hardened layer of defense.

With deeper mastery, it not only boosted offensive power but enhanced durability as well—like a diluted version of Asa's electromagnetic isolation stance.

"Armament—Hardening!"

Garp, still laughing heartily, wrapped both arms in a thick coat of Armament Haki. His Coat of Justice flared behind him as if caught in a storm.

He had roamed the seas for decades. Even Whitebeard's monstrous punch couldn't make him back down. A lightning dragon?

That wouldn't scare him.

"Bone Fist: Meteor Barrage!!!"

With arms like iron, Garp swung with ferocity. His fists—coated in black haki—pounded the air at high speed, each blow heavier than the last.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!

The surrounding air trembled. The shockwaves from Garp's punches were so fierce that if Asa hadn't known better, he'd have thought the Gura-Gura no Mi had changed hands.

Floating midair and gasping, Asa struggled to maintain his Thunder God form. His stamina was drained. But to unleash 200 million volts, he had to remain in that state...

This was his strongest move—second only to Heaven's Judgement.

And he knew he couldn't do it again unless he recovered.

But before he could relish the moment or regroup, Garp's laugh cut through the air.

"Pfft hahahaha! Brat, if you think that'll beat me—you're dreaming!!"

BOOM!!

With a final roar, Garp's fists met the giant lightning dragon—and it exploded into electric particles, dispersed by his raw power.

Garp's fists were now completely scorched, crackling, and blackened to the bone. The smell of burnt skin lingered.

Yet he didn't flinch.

He didn't even care about the potential long-term damage. That was Garp.

"You're outta juice. What else you got?" he growled through heavy breaths, grinning at Asa with white teeth gleaming.

Nothing in this world is perfect. The stronger the power, the greater the price—it's a law that couldn't be defied.

Some called the Childlike Fruit invincible. In Asa's opinion? Nonsense.

It might turn people into toys—but only through direct contact. Could someone with that ability really get close to a high-tier powerhouse?

Dream on. Even if awakened, it couldn't convert people without touching them. If it could, the world would never have allowed such a broken fruit to exist.

Because of those flaws, Sugar needed constant protection—so her stamina wouldn't even be a concern.

Asa, however, was in a different league.

As his Thunder Fruit abilities advanced, so did the stamina demands. Stronger techniques meant faster depletion—there was no avoiding it.

Yes, Garp had dispersed the 200 million volt Brontosaurus, but at a cost. His own devastating blows had taken a toll as well.

And that's where Asa held the advantage—rapid stamina regeneration.

With time—or food—he could recover fast.

In a war of attrition, he'd win every time.

"You damn old man..." Asa panted, "You're no better off than me. You'll fall first."

He scanned for Mischia Olga with his mental radar and found Vice Admiral Tsuru in pursuit. Akainu had also gone after the pure gold—leaving only the two of them here.

Whoever fell first would lose.

Running to get the pure gold? That thought hadn't even crossed Asa's mind.

Now that he'd perfected his defensive technique—no one in the world could make him retreat.

He didn't care about treasure.

He came to fight.

"Hahahahaha! Trying to stall for recovery, huh? I saw through your little trick!" Garp bellowed through heavy panting. "Come down here and DIE!"

"You call that a joke?!" Asa mocked. "You're the one dragging it out, you relic! Don't tell me you're too old to even Moonwalk up here?"

"Hahahahaha!"

"You brat..." Garp growled, grinding his teeth. From this day forward, Asa had joined a very short list of people Garp had to arrest.

That list once only had Roger—his eternal rival.

Now... it had Asa.

A few minutes passed.

Their strength returned enough to move again.

Without warning, Garp launched himself into the air with a Moonwalk, blasting through the sky with an explosive step.

The sudden burst caught even Asa—whose reflexes had been sharpened to perfection—off guard.

Fwoosh!!

His fists, still scorched from earlier, were now coated in fresh haki, and bones gleamed beneath cracked skin.

Asa's instincts kicked in. He instantly reactivated the electromagnetic isolation stance, his face twisting into a feral grin.

He didn't run.

He clenched his fists and charged straight at him.

Lightning crackled violently—his fists cloaked in a dark blue, glowing halo. No Haki, just pure destructive current.

BOOM!!

Their fists collided.

The air was forced out between them, creating a concussive wave that rippled across the entire first stomach.

The shockwave blasted stone chunks away for thousands of meters. Gastric juices split to either side, revealing the vibrant, glowing stomach wall beneath.

Because of the sudden activation of his stance, Asa took no damage—but he turned pale, wobbling in midair.

Garp wasn't so lucky.

The old man was sent flying through the air and crashed hard into another floating island—landing in a pool of acid.

Asa, using his radar, sensed Garp submerged in the corrosive fluid.

This last impact made the lantern fish more uncomfortable than all the earlier lightning attacks combined.

The air disturbance reached deep into its stomach lining.

BOOM! BOOM!!

The golden glow of the lantern fish shimmered in the dark sea, as it rolled violently, disturbed to its core. Underwater currents surged as the creature thrashed, desperate to purge what it couldn't tolerate.

The chaos inside wasn't just too much for humans—even the fish couldn't stand it.

The lantern fish desperately wanted to vomit.

Garp, upside down in the acidic pool, came to his senses and quickly leapt from the liquid, scrambling to the nearest floating stone.

He tore off his Justice cloak, shook his head, and grunted.

"Cough—cough!!"

He coughed twice, flexed his burned fists, and locked eyes with Asa once again.

The storm wasn't over yet.
