Chapter 35: The cave

The traces of the wendigo were telling, but Pan did not fear them. He knew that a quick heal to the gut, with a bit of a punch so as to promote the destruction of bad bacteria in the stomach, was going to do the trick.

The fairy was flying in front of him, giving off light. He had traded her a scarf for that favor. Right now, the fairy's breath was misting in front of her.

Still, when the choice was to go to sleep under a cliff which may or may not bury them in snow while they slept and a cave where there might or not be still wendigos there was only one logical solution.

They went inside, hoping that this cave was part of the Dwarven Transportation Network.

"So, they all left you when you decided to save the world?" The fairy asked.

"Yes… I think Brandon will come back, but…" Pan lowered his gaze. He had rejected Brandon. Had told him to leave.

And Brandon had left.
