As Freccio nearly finished off Theseus, a man appeared behind him, it felt as if death itself appeared behind him, the man that everyone thought was dead, Kari.
With a single strike he plunged his knife deep into Freccio, liquid was oozing off the knife "DON'T YOU DARE COUNT ME OUT OF THIS FIGHT." Kari yelled whilst twisting the blade in his back making him feel excruciating pain, somehow Freccio wasn't healing yet, immediately Kancer appeared and with her scissors she stabbed him in the stomach repeatedly three times, Theseus sees this opportunity and gets up quickly and with all his might, he stabs Freccio in his left shoulder. "THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A ONE ON ONE AGAINST ME AND THESEUS YOU BASTARDS." Freccio kept trying to heal but nothing would happen "Well too bad kid, we were told to wipe out this hideout and we'll do just that." Kari had calmed himself, although he was bleeding through various holes in his body he was barely holding on, not only that but most of his bones were fractured.
They all took their blades out of his body in unison causing him to fall to the ground whilst he spat out blood, Theseus started leaving and looked over his shoulder at his body "I won't bother killing you Freccio I'm not a killer, but remember our bet, if you want to be a man and stick to your word then you know where to find us, just say Theseus sent you." They all started walking away looking quite gloomy, and they were mostly silent whilst leaving, that is until they had left the building completely.
"KARI! YOU'RE ALIVE! LOOK AT YOU GO!" Theseus excitedly hugged Kari along with Kancer, "How did you guys even manage that?" He curiously asked.
"Well, after I saw that sunlight it only left one conclusion, that man was part Solian." Kancer explained "Solian?" Theseus seemed confused. "Yes, Solians have the ability to regenerate quickly as the way their body is made is different from ours, but because of my Second Wind I was able to nullify his regen albeit somewhat." Kancer was quite knowledgeable on the various races. "Somewhat? It seemed to work fine to me." "You see Theseus, Solians are being that can live on for Eons, if he were a pure blooded one I probably wouldn't have been able to make such a concoction, but thankfully he was part human, which weakened his ability to regen, whew." Kancer seemed extremely tired and distraught, and so did Kari, Theseus seemed to be the only one who was energetic enough.
The walk back home was pretty much silent, Theseus tried making some conversation here and there but only got short responses, and once they finally arrived Kancer and Kari went straight to their rooms except for Theseus. "Jun? Is that you?" He found Jun sweating profusely whilst drinking some water. "Huh? Theseus? Surprised you even made it back those guys were tough, how was it on your end?" He was out of breath.
"We almost lost but made it in the end, although it was just one enemy he was something else that's for sure, never heard of a Human who was part Solian before." Theseus sat on the floor next to him as they continued talking.
"Part Solian? Sounds like a nightmare, those bastards are rare as hell surprised they even have one of them on their team, wonder how he ended up there to begin with, we dealt with like three of them on our part, the one I fought was a Ifritian who could make anything he touched bigger or smaller, he even smashed me on the head with a massive Pillar!" He used his hands to express how big the pillar was, Theseus excitedly listened along until a Slime appeared, it seemed that Jun knew who they were.
"A Right, hey Theseus, it's about time you met the rest of the strongest here, meet Musaqi." They both stood up and greeted him.
"It's alright really, a friend of Jun is a friend of mine, I prefer to keep things casual." Musaqi was a blue Slime, he wore an orange scarf that covered his mouth, his hair was messy, curly and slime-like, his clothes were random pieces of fabric that formed into one, all of the different pieces were rough and some even had blood on them, on each of his sides he carried swords.
"I've never heard of a blue Slime before, I wonder what he's like." "P-Pleasure to meet you, it's Musaki? Right?" Theseus nervously asked.
"Haha, it's Musaqi, pronounced Mu Sa Chi, with my full name being Musaqi Miwa." He smiled as he looked at Theseus.
"Thank you Musaqi, though I'm curious, who's stronger, you or Jun?" Theseus didn't mean to instigate anything, he just loved asking questions.
"Hmm, what do you think Jun?" Musaqi humbly asked.
"You know the answer dumbass, of course it'd be you, the difference is like day and night." Jun scoffed.
"Well there you have it Theseus, though I have to say, if Jun had his Second Wind things may be different, but I'm quite confident I'd win regardless, they don't call me the sword saint for nothing." He smiled happily, the first impression you'd get on this man was that he was kind.
"Wow, a sword saint huh? That's the first time I've ever even heard of one, any chance I could join you on your next job?" Although he thought he'd say no, it didn't hurt to ask.
"Hmm, I'm not sure you could keep up, I wouldn't want another persons death on my hands I've got more than enough of that as you can see." He grabs a piece of his shirt and shows it off.
Theseus seemed a bit disappointed but Jun stepped in "I'm not sure about his fighting skills but I'm confident Theseus could at least see half of the things you'd do Musaqi, his eyes are going to take him a long way, besides, a sword saint like yourself should be able to handle things whilst protecting him." Jun thought this would be a good opportunity for Theseus, as he would get to see what the harsh part of the world is truly like.
"How about this then, I'll do one of my moves out here in the open, if you can tell me exactly what I did, you can come along, does that sound good?" He doesn't actually think he can but a bit of fun never hurt anyone.
"Of course! Go for it!" Theseus's attitude skyrockets.
Musaqi gestures them to make way, and faces the wall, he takes his stance holding his right sword on his hilt, and within one breathe, he slices the wall in front of him, leaving a fierce gash, the attack being so great it creates a dimension ripple that soon repairs itself. "So? What'd I do?"
Amazed Theseus describes every detail, from the breathe he did to the moment he sheathed his weapon back, although it was all done in less than a second, he saw it all.
"Wow, you actually did, sure you can tag along, it's getting late so meet me here at seven in the morning on the dot okay?" Theseus happily nods and heads straight back to his room to rest.
"First I meet Jun, a Solian, and now a Sword Saint? Who would've thought! I can't wait to wake up tomorrow! Though, I hope Kancer is okay with this, I mean not like she can do much against Musaqi, I wonder what else he can do."
Theseus slowly fell asleep, he dreamt about what he saw, the massive slash Musaqi did, how could his sword which was half the size of the slash itself even create such a thing, was there a trick? Did he use magic? The sword itself seemed ordinary, these thoughts rummaged around in his head, and as he kept on dreaming he saw a vast land that was frozen in ice, wolves inhabited it and danger was lurking everywhere, he fell inside the snow and noticed that there were parasites inside of it, he soon realised that this wasn't an average dream, it was a nightmare, he kept running and yelling out for help but no one would come, parasites would try to enter his body gnawing away at his flesh whilst wolves stalked him as prey, the cold kept getting worse and worse soon it felt like a burning freezing pain, frostbite was the only explanation, he kept running and running until one of the wolves finally attacked, it bit his leg and started trying to bite it off, and as things began to get worse, he eventually woke up in a cold sweat.
He looked at his hands and checked his legs making sure they were fine and let out a relieving sigh.
