Chapter 92: Infinite War (Part 2)

Peter's expression grew solemn.

He couldn't participate in the silent battle raging in space or the aerial skirmishes unfolding above Wakanda.

But now, his battle had finally begun!

As expected, the doors on the sides of the obelisk-shaped spacecraft slid open, unleashing a horde of grotesque creatures.

These monsters had no names. They were bioengineered war beasts, created by Thanos through genetic engineering—one of the main forces of the Black Order.

If they had to be given a name, they could be called the "Dark Thralls."

They possessed no independent thought, no emotions like fear or joy—nothing that a living being should have. Their sole purpose was to serve their creator, Thanos.

From the moment of their creation to their inevitable demise.

Compared to them, the Chitauri were a true intelligent alien species.

It was no wonder Thanos stationed the Chitauri in the skies while sending the Dark Thralls to the battlefield on the ground.

Thus, the war was divided into three distinct battlefields:

Outer space,

Near-Earth aerial combat,

The ground battle.

The outer space battle was managed by Iron Man's AI assistant, Friday, along with Wakanda's AI, Griot.

With the Chitauri motherships retreating, this front had momentarily calmed.

However, both sides were still probing each other's defenses through cyber warfare.

If either found a vulnerability, they would seize the opportunity to infiltrate the opposing system within seconds.

Though seemingly peaceful, this battlefield remained fraught with unseen danger.

Meanwhile, Iron Man and War Machine, flanked by Iron Man's fleet of combat drones, had joined the second battlefield.

Among the superheroes, they were among the few who could effectively fight in high-altitude combat, so they took on the responsibility without hesitation.

Of course, they weren't alone.

On the ground, Wakanda's air defense systems were fully operational, with 70% of its anti-aircraft facilities firing relentlessly at the enemy above.

However, this heavy focus on aerial defense had significantly depleted Wakanda's ground forces.

By the time the troops were divided, fewer than three thousand warriors remained for the ground battle.

Fortunately, they had an advantage—an army of heroes.

Each hero was capable of taking on hundreds of enemies alone, and with some rough estimation, their combined strength was equivalent to an army of nearly ten thousand!

Peter took a deep breath as he gazed at the sea of Dark Thralls before him. Then, he turned to T'Challa.

"T'Challa, I'm heading out."

T'Challa nodded firmly. "Brother, stay safe."

The two clasped hands.

Then, Peter leaped off the watchtower, diving straight into battle.

Unlike the chaotic clash from the original timeline, this time, they had the advantage of preparation and had devised a solid battle strategy.

The superheroes were split into tactical units, each consisting of three members, forming efficient combat squads.

Peter was assigned to a team with Holland Spider and Ghost.

Thanks to Peter, T'Challa personally ensured that Ghost received two vibranium laser daggers—similar to those used by the Dora Milaje in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Ghost was already a master of stealth and assassination, and the half-meter-long laser blades suited her far better than the traditional two-meter vibranium spears.

These vibranium laser daggers were Wakanda's latest experimental weapon—still in the testing phase.

Shuri had noticed that Ghost, as Peter's designated guardian, lacked a proper weapon, so she decided to equip her with one of Wakanda's most cutting-edge technologies.

With Ghost's phasing abilities, these weapons could easily become a nightmare for their enemies.

As for Holland Spider—his inclusion in the squad was purely at Iron Man's request.

He wasn't familiar with the others, and since Iron Man himself wasn't around, he wanted Peter to keep an eye on him.

After all, this was a real battlefield—not some minor skirmish.

A single mistake could lead to death!

Peter's combat prowess was something Iron Man had experienced firsthand.

He had single-handedly defeated one of Thanos' top generals, while even he and Captain America combined couldn't quickly take down that brute, Cull Obsidian.

Although Peter had suffered severe injuries, thanks to the regenerative cradle, he was back on his feet and full of energy after just one night.

Friday had informed Iron Man that even without the regenerative cradle, Peter's recovery speed was so fast that he would have fully healed in just a few days.

This left Iron Man astonished.

If only he were a biologist—he'd have loved to study Peter's cellular structure to understand his rapid healing.

Considering all these factors, Iron Man entrusted Holland Spider to Peter's care.

Peter readily accepted the responsibility.

Although Holland Spider was often seen as unreliable by many, his combat capabilities were undeniable.

By the time of Infinity War, he had already exchanged blows with Thanos, who wielded multiple Infinity Stones. Handling lesser enemies would be a walk in the park for him.

Besides, having such a courageous teammate nearby was reassuring—far better than one who might slack off.

"Mr. Peter, is it our turn to fight now?"

After leaping down from the towering battlements, Peter had barely landed when Holland Spider approached him.

He was donned in the "Iron Spider Suit," specially crafted by his mentor, Iron Man—a sleek, nanotech armor designed for intense combat.

Standing together in their similarly styled armor, Peter and Holland Spider looked every bit the part of a coordinated strike team.

Peter nodded. "Peter, Ava, let's get ready!"

"Got it!" Holland Spider shouted excitedly, his heroic spirit igniting.

Ghost cast a calm glance at Peter, drawing her twin vibranium laser daggers, and positioned herself behind him.

She didn't speak, but her intent was crystal clear.

"I'll take the front, Peter, you support me. Ava, strike when you see an opening," Peter instructed.

Holland Spider and Ghost both nodded in agreement.

Then, Peter turned to another ally nearby.

"Captain Grace, we'll need your initial fire support."

Opulie Grace nodded in acknowledgment.

As the Deputy Captain of the Dora Milaje, Wakanda's royal guard, she would ordinarily stay by Black Panther's side.

However, T'Challa had deployed her here, leaving Okoye and a small contingent to guard him personally.

The rest of the Dora Milaje were sent to support Peter, aiding in the defense and offense of this sector.

"Ready up!" Peter called out, signaling not just to Holland Spider, Ghost, and Opulie Grace, but also to Black Panther, T'Challa.

"Activate!"

"Open the seventeenth barrier in the northwest sector!" T'Challa commanded.

Before them, the protective shield slowly retracted.

The same occurred in other locations as well.

Every three to four kilometers, a barrier would open, allowing the Dark Thralls to pour in.

And Earth's defenders, positioned behind their pre-constructed fortifications, opened fire in unison.

The roaring of heavy machine guns and the whistling of artillery shells inflicted massive losses on the Dark Thralls in mere moments!
