Chapter 93: Infinite War (Part 3)

Roar! Roar! Roar!

The cries of the Dark Servants echoed through the battlefield.

But they were not screams of pain.

Instead, they were savage and frenzied roars.

These bio-weapons, born purely for slaughter, were now displaying their sheer brutality.

Whether they were torn in half by machine gun fire or reduced to a mangled torso by explosions, as long as their heads remained intact, they would continue to crawl forward, relentlessly pushing on.

Only when their last breath left them would they finally collapse and fall silent.

Watching this, Peter couldn't help but recall a type of creature that, in theory, existed only in fiction—

Zombies!

Zombies, driven purely by instinct, would behave exactly like this.

The only way to stop them was to destroy their heads completely.

And the most terrifying thing about zombies? Their infection!

Once infected, there was no cure!

Thankfully, these Dark Servants weren't zombies.

If superhumans—who weren't even ordinary humans to begin with—could be infected...

Peter shuddered at the thought.

Shaking off that terrifying idea, he refocused on the enemies before him.

Peter picked up a rifle lying beside him.

It was supposedly purchased by Wakanda from external sources, as Wakanda itself had little use for such weapons.

Since no one knew how long this battle would last, they had prepared these extra firearms just in case.

Peter took aim, pulled the trigger, and unleashed a burst of gunfire.

Thanks to his superhuman strength and the kinetic-energy-dampening properties of his Vibranium armor, the rifle remained rock-steady in his hands.

Each bullet flew exactly where he aimed, with many hitting the same precise spots.

He specifically targeted the heads of the Dark Servants, curious to see if they would fall like zombies or if they were something even more bizarre.

Soon, he locked onto one of them.

This particular Dark Servant was sprinting at an astonishing speed—around 50 to 60 meters per second.

For an ordinary person, just tracking its movement with their eyes would be nearly impossible.

But for Peter, enhanced by spider genes, every one of its movements was crystal clear.

His gun barrel tracked the creature's path perfectly, instantly processing factors like movement speed, angle, distance, and wind resistance.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three shots struck the Dark Servant's forehead in rapid succession.

Thud!

It crashed to the ground, rolling several times before lying motionless.

"It seems their main weakness is still the—"

Before Peter could finish his analysis, the previously fallen Dark Servant suddenly sprang back to its feet and resumed its charge.

?!

"What the hell?!" Peter cursed.

Its head wasn't a fatal weak point?!

However, judging by its brief collapse, a headshot did seem to cause some level of damage.

Otherwise, it wouldn't have stayed down for even a moment.

That meant…

Peter's gaze shifted downward, locking onto its spine.

From what he had learned—mostly from his own studies in biology to better understand his abilities—the creature's reaction resembled something similar to a "central nervous system reboot."

In normal organisms, the central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord, responsible for processing incoming signals from the body and coordinating motor functions.

If that was the case...

Peter narrowed his eyes, gripping his rifle tighter.

He had just found a new target.

Simply put, biological activity is controlled by the central nervous system.

The Dark Servants largely exhibited characteristics of living organisms, so this principle should apply to them as well.

Getting shot in the head must have affected their central nervous system to some extent—otherwise, they wouldn't have collapsed.

However, what set them apart from normal creatures was that they seemed capable of temporarily transferring control to the spinal cord after suffering neural damage in the brain!

This allowed them to regain mobility and stand up again.

To test this theory, Peter adjusted his aim, targeting the same Dark Servant whose head he had already shot through.

This time, he aimed at its spine.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A burst of bullets struck the precise center of its spine.

The Dark Servant collapsed once more.

This time, it stayed down for a long while.

Peter confirmed his hypothesis—it was correct.

But after thinking it over carefully, he realized this discovery wasn't all that useful.

If the head had been the only weak point, then they still had a chance by relying on heavy frontal firepower.

After all, the automated machine guns controlled by Wakanda's AI system, Griot, were positioned at the frontlines. These guns were equipped with advanced targeting systems, far more accurate than manual aiming.

But hitting the spine from behind?

That was far trickier—whether it was done by a human or an AI.

"Looks like we'll have to take them head-on," Peter sighed.

Still, he sent his findings to the others, giving them a heads-up.

A Few Minutes Later

"The time has come. Lower the barrier!" Peter commanded through his communicator.

Zzzzt—

In the distance, the energy barrier rapidly contracted.

Some Dark Servants caught mid-transition were sliced clean in half, their severed torsos still desperately crawling toward Peter and his team, leaving long, bloody trails behind them.

Now, trapped between the energy barrier and their defensive positions, approximately four to five hundred Dark Servants were completely surrounded.

This was their "lure-and-trap" strategy.

They first opened a gap in the energy barrier, allowing the mindless Dark Servants to rush in. Then, using their fortified positions, they created the tactical equivalent of an ancient Chinese fortress trap—sealing the enemies inside before launching a coordinated slaughter.

Each designated battle zone executed this plan in rotation, ensuring that the Dark Servants had somewhere to go—preventing them from chaotically attacking the energy barrier—while also maintaining high kill efficiency.

Peter flexed his wrists, then began walking forward.

He gradually picked up speed.

"Brothers and sisters—time to close the trap! Charge with me!"

"ROAR!"

"Wakanda Forever!"

Peter led the charge, with Holland Spider, Ghost Lady, and Aupuli Grace following closely behind.

BOOM!

Peter launched himself into the air with a powerful leap.

CLANG!

While midair, four razor-sharp Vibranium spider legs extended from his back.

Like a cannonball, he plunged straight into the enemy ranks.

Zzzt! Zzzt!—

Two laser beams fired from his Vibranium spider legs, piercing through the heads of two Dark Servants.

At the same time, he swung his fist—

SPLAT!

One Dark Servant's head was crushed into pulp!

ROAR!

Another Dark Servant lunged at Peter.

Peter remained expressionless, casually sidestepping—

At that moment, one of his razor-sharp Vibranium spider legs impaled its head in a single thrust.

Then, with an agile flip, Peter landed on the creature's back.

BOOM!

A single punch—

Its spine shattered!

The scene was brutal, gory, and horrifying.

But this was merely a glimpse of the battlefield's true carnage.

As Peter tore through the Dark Servants, Holland Spider and the others charged in behind him.

The battle instantly descended into a savage melee—

A true clash of steel and flesh.
