Chapter 162: Half a Year

After leaving the Punisher Spider's universe, Peter and Gwen resumed their journey across the Marvel Multiverse.

It had to be said—the Marvel Multiverse was truly vast.

Moreover, in many different universes, Spider-Man seemed to exist in some form.

This reminded Peter of something he had read before his transmigration: it was said that countless epochs ago, the entire Marvel Multiverse was once a singular entity, known as the "Realm of Gods." In this realm lived deities such as Khonshu, the Moon God; Bast, the Panther Goddess; and Set, the God of Chaos. Each had their own roles in maintaining the universe's balance.

Among them was a Spider Goddess, who was apparently tasked by the King of the Gods to design the structure of the Multiverse for humanity.

Inspired by the way spiders weave their webs, she constructed the Multiverse into a vast, interconnected web. In this web, Spider-Men were like little spiders tasked with maintaining the balance of the Multiverse.

Unfortunately, while Peter had always found this idea intriguing, he had never actually looked into its origins before his transmigration. He had no idea how much truth there was to it, nor what deeper secrets might be hidden within.

It was only after encountering so many versions of Spider-Man that this information resurfaced in his mind.

At this point, more than half a year had passed since Peter first arrived in the Marvel Universe.

During these months of traversing the Multiverse, he and Gwen had met numerous Spider-Men from different universes, as well as various other superheroes.

Of course, they had also taken down quite a few supervillains.

Some of them were even "interdimensional trespassers."

By now, the Time-Space Task Force had grown into a formidable presence, earning recognition across the Multiverse.

The team currently had over a dozen official members, along with a considerable number of auxiliary personnel.

Official members, like Gwen and Electro, were those who either stayed by Peter's side or remained on standby in the Quantum Realm, ready to be summoned at any moment through Peter's Quantum Portal.

However, most of the official members were villains. The only true heroic figures in the team remained Peter, Gwen, and Electro—something that Peter found rather frustrating.

But this wasn't exactly surprising.

Most heroes had responsibilities and attachments in their own universes, preventing them from leaving everything behind to join an interdimensional team.

On the other hand, the villains Peter had taken in were mostly outcasts—exiled from their original universes.

Peter had eliminated those who were completely unhinged, like those obsessed with slaughtering Spider-Men, keeping only those who were relatively stable and could be reasoned with.

As for the auxiliary members, their numbers were far greater.

They mainly consisted of the Spider-Men from the various universes Peter and Gwen had visited over the past six months.

Since they had commitments in their own worlds, they couldn't follow Peter and his team around.

However, much like the Punisher Spider, they didn't oppose Peter's actions either.

In truth, their decision wasn't solely based on a sense of justice.

The Primary Reason: Loneliness!

Anyone familiar with Spider-Man knows that, despite being a superhero, his personal life is far from perfect.

He lost Uncle Ben, Aunt May, his girlfriend Gwen Stacy, and even Mary Jane. Some versions of Spider-Man have even turned into monsters. Many of them live tragic lives—regardless of whether they bear the name Peter Parker.

Moreover, for various reasons, Spider-Man always plays two roles in his world:

One is the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man behind the mask, and the other is his true identity beneath it.

Over time, this duality shrouds his heart in loneliness.

Though many Spider-Men suppress this loneliness through sheer willpower, even turning it into motivation to continue their heroic journey, they are still human!

So, when they learn about an organization where everyone is just like them—where they can laugh freely, cry openly, and exchange witty banter—how could they not be tempted to join?

Inside the Quantum Realm.

Space rippled slightly before a quantum portal opened.

Two figures emerged from the passage.

One of them was Electro.

Compared to six months ago, he now appeared sharper and more powerful.

He wore a specially designed, high-tech battle suit, with a faintly glowing miniature energy reactor embedded in his chest.

This was the creation of a scientific laboratory under the jurisdiction of the Time-Space Task Force. Its design was inspired by Iron Man's Arc Reactor and incorporated research on the Cosmic Cube from another universe. It was a collaborative invention of the leading researchers of the Task Force—three different versions of Doctor Octopus from different worlds.

This reactor provided an immense energy reserve, allowing Electro to overcome his greatest weakness—his reliance on electricity. While his powers were formidable, his body's electrical energy was not infinite; once depleted, he needed to recharge.

But with this miniature energy reactor, he no longer had to worry about running out of power. He could unleash his full strength without restraint.

This advancement elevated him from a ground-level hero to a god-tier powerhouse—almost on par with Thor!

Not only that, but his armor was also engraved with magical runes, granting it resistance to water and electromagnetic pulses.

Unexpected water exposure could cause Electro to short-circuit while in his ionized state—something that a certain Spider-Man had once exploited to defeat him. Even the Punisher once used EMP bullets to take down his universe's version of Electro.

To ensure the safety of Electro—now a deputy commander of the Time-Space Task Force—Peter had gone to great lengths.

Following behind Electro was a mechanized figure with four robotic tentacles extending from his back.

He was a version of Doctor Octopus from another universe.

In his world, Dr. Otto Octavius had also conducted an artificial sun experiment, which, like in other universes, went terribly wrong.

However, instead of losing his wife in the accident, he was the one who perished.

The artificial sun generated an immense gravitational force, threatening to pull in everyone present. Fortunately, that world's Spider-Man arrived in time to stop the disaster.

However, forcibly shutting down the artificial sun caused a massive explosion.

To protect his wife, Otto Octavius sacrificed himself on the spot.

His wife, a bio-mechanical scientist, refused to accept his death.

Using her expertise, she rebuilt Otto into a mechanical being, bringing him back to life!

Thus, the resurrected Otto Octavius became the Mecha-Doc Ock.
